It needs to be nerfed.
They've ignored the Hammer of Sol, which is dripping with overpowered essence. They should either make it last a much shorter duration of time, or decrease the explosion radius of the hammers. Maybe even both, if we're lucky. I know Sunbreaker Titans will be buttmad, but it's necessary.
If you think the Hammer of Sol needs to be nerfed, what do you think they could do to nerf it?
EDIT: Apparently there was no Nightstalker nerf; I was fed misinformation from a friend, and didn't follow up with more research. My bad, guys!

10 RepliesI honestly say its kinda fine. But the change I would make is nerfing the health regen. Rather than heal instantly it either takes a few seconds to activate or the healing can be cancelled if your damaged.

Edited by Sour Diesel: 11/6/2015 5:55:13 PMHonestly, I average about 3-4 kills per activation with HoS. (Yes there will be times where I get lucky and catch 5 on a heavy spawn or something but that can happen with any super.) Which is right in line with mobile supers like bladedancer, golden gun, and other mobile supers. And those kills aren't even guaranteed. People run away, get killed by other teammates, etc. it really isn't as God tier as people think. Fist of havoc is more powerful still in my opinion. If you hit someone with it its kills guaranteed. It's just not mobile. As for damage resistance, ever heard of unstoppable? I survived point blank shottys and golden guns in year one thanks to that. And despite people that don't agree, without the super the subclass is underwhelming. Melting point is great. So is incendiary grenade. Otherwise that's it. One melee, one nade. If it gets nerfed, It'll be useless in PvE too. I generate more orbs with FoH, it takes 2-4 hammers to down yellow bars. After spending the last month with HoS, it's mediocre. I finally got around to leveling my warlock within the last couple days and actually have been getting more satisfaction from storm caller. That is a sweet ass subclass. Lightning God

10 RepliesHammer of Sols average kills per super is between 2-4 in basic matches, (excluding Mayhem), which is right on par with other Supers with a duration, such as stormcaller, gunslinger and bladedancer. In Trials, its probably even less due to people immediately either taking cover, or focus firing the titan. I don't think it needs a nerf because after playing all the classes, I don't believe it's nearly as god like and unkillable as most people complain about. There's been times where I was killed entirely too fast and easy while it was active, and times where it worked perfectly. It all depends on the scenario. If they nerf it, cool. BUT, bungie so far has over nerfed everything when tuning down things the community felt were overperforming, (I.e. Autos, Fusion Rifles, Mythoclast, Hand cannons now, etc.). It would be a shame if the only real strong and consistently effective PvP subclass for a titan got milked down so hard that defender seemed like a better choice.

8 Replieslength of super is fine just nerf the range and the blast radius so they actually have to aim. and that armor is to damn high
-
Edited by Semperfi1999: 11/6/2015 1:05:21 PMIn truth the super just needs a minor adjustment to balance it out. Change the supers constant huge armor increase and give the player a choice in how the use this super. Based on choices made in the ability tree: Option 1: HOS is very mobile and has a high kill potential due to that mobility but gets no damage reduction while in super so it is a risk but the risk vs reward is still there and still provides a great reward for the risk. (basically makes this relatively similar to the golden gun.) Option 2: HOS gets its massive armor increase but in order to keep the armor increase the titan must stay in their sunspot. This changes the super from highly mobile to a heavily armored massively dmging but relatively stationary unit. Trading mobility for the sheer ability to soak up dmg while tossing hammers. I think this change alone would balance out the super and provide good risk vs reward for the use of that super and the selections made.

Shut up tbh

21 RepliesIt doesnt need to be nerfed because HoS is all the subclass has going for it.
-
1 ReplyWith ONE shadowshot you can take 3 HoS titans down.

Only problem with sunbreaker is cauterize in 6v6 modes. To many targets for them to kill and heal from. In 3v3 games like trials they weren't nearly as threatening. The hammer sound lets everyone know to take cover and a Titan may get a kill and some revives ( still a battle changer but so are all supers ) And with proper tactics they are beatable. Just as much as any other super.
-
They need to make it so if you use hammer and through it point blank, the titan should die just like void walkers

Edited by Heil hydr8: 11/6/2015 3:58:15 AMEh. My main go to is a titan. I love striker for pvp fun but defender is my usual. The sunbreaker is ok at best. If you dont have a super he becomes worthless in my eyes as his class revolves it so much, such as needing a full super to get reduced melee and grenade recharge time. BUT! Its one of those classes that almost demands you to use right away because there is no point to hold onto unlike WoD or the warlocks revive. Finally, why is this still a topic? Yea when the three classes came out they were all seemed over powered but now i dont see as many sunbreakers running around. More of them filthy warlocks running around but thats a different topic.

4 Repliesdon't nerf Hammer of Sol...just buff up everything else that was nerfed....then everything will even back out...keep nerfing thing and soon we will all be playing with actual nerf guns
-
1 ReplySo maybe longer hammer of soul with 3 hammers lol... The hammer is fine, if you aren't good enough to take one down or run.. You shouldn't play pvp.
-
5 RepliesSign here if you think Titan mains shouldn't have a say in this debate.

5 RepliesWhen people cry nerf for titan sun breaker but if you play as a main titan from the beginning of destiny you will know how to stop them with out running since you know there weakness all classes have one or two even at there supers

4 RepliesEdited by Bless01: 11/6/2015 2:58:06 AMNerf Sunbreakers blah blah blah meanwhile Stormcallers are decimating in the Crucible and nobody's saying nothing.
-
3 RepliesAlso if u guys think about a Sunbreaker all the perks are base around it's super none of it really helps with just normal game play
-
I main a titan and think it's a little op in crucible... One fix is the damage reduction when you have the hammer of sol active
-
I have many suggestions to change as so does the community... And whatever bungie does I hope the don't take from them all otherwise the sunbreaker will need a buff to bring it back into balance. My main one is cauterize that needs a cool down. Every kill is ridiculous when it's a ranged attack. Yes hunters have it and they should. They need to get right up in all that shit to get kills, sunbreaker will f you up from sniper range. Then the over all lethality of the explotion is a bit extreme. I main a Warlock and I can jump to the side when I see a hammer thrown and with any kind of accuracy and specially the tracking, if it lands on the ground the Warlock float is so slow I have a lot of trouble escaping the blast. And then there is the damn armor. Everyone complained about warlocks with radiant skin scorch melee and the ram making them harder to kill and a tank. Well we can no longer use the ram as a viable option with how far light lvl goes down. And we had to get an over shield to go with it if we had our melee charged. Titans just have to activate the super and they are crazy tanks. Add in the over shield they can get standing in a sun spot or from a revive well I hope the whole team is targeting him at the same time because good luck. Then tie that into the agility a Titan has with skating and you can easily cover 3/4 of any map. I don't remember what article it was in but bungie stated supers were supposed to cancel out other supers. But there are only 2 things that can effectively cancel out sunbreaker as fast as it can cancel out everything. Nova bomb and shadow shot.. Defender grenades yes but that's not a super. Ss though has a second delay to it so it sometimes sucks because you die trying to use it. Gg can't kill it in 1 shot but in turn is killed in 1 shot. Stormtrance takes like 3 seconds to kill and feels like 30.blade dancer...... Well if you killed a sunbreaker as a blade dancer your a bad ass mf ninja. And yes I know sticker can but you have to have luck on your side of having them right there. So yes they need something done... 1 thing done... Not a little of everything.. But 1 thing needs a change. And a significant one at that.
-
The people that want to nerf sunbreaker are the ones that try and counter it by standing completely still and just shooting at it.
-
3 RepliesEdited by GodspeedJoshua: 11/6/2015 2:58:00 AMI think everything about the super needs a slight nerf. Number of hammers or duration, damage resistance for certainly. The data will show for sure. I hope they don't ruin it though like they did bladedancer.
-
3 RepliesHow about limiting the movement very severely while using hammers? No double jumps and reduced movement speed. Kinda plays well into the whole tanky Titan theme eh? Still useful in pve while not being op in pvp cuz being easier to avoid. Keep damage and number of hammers and cauterize the same.
