I've been playing strictly warlocks since the Alpha. They're all I know, all I care to love. I know my Warlock inside and out.I love my warlock like a mother loves an ugly child. Even when the popular kids are out having friends, I still spend all my time with my ugly little Warlock.
My complaint today is that Bungie is the Father to my mother to my ugly little Warlock. Bungie is that drunken asshole of a father who ignores the runt in favor of the the other two. He gives them cool shit and praises them constantly, making sure they have a role to play and pushes them to the frontlines of that role. It's only when he's not buried in a mountain of booze bottles that he remembers "Oh yeah... I have a third child... I should probably put just enough effort into him to make sure cps doesn't get called."
Raid-wise, titans have bubbles. this is an essential and crucial TEAM BENEFIT that helps the whole team. Hunters can turn team mates invisible and apply some serious dps buffs with their supers. TEAM BENEFITS. These classes are raid essentials and everything they do helps the raid along.
Then we have Warlocks. Never have I heard "Bring your Warlock, we need him to get past this one part". It's just "What class are you?" I'm a warlock. "Oh... okay." as if to say, whatever, at least you can make the pew pew.
Our single redeeming factor that is EVER mentioned is that "Even when we suck, we suck less because we come back to life to suck again." We have a gimp super that rarely comes into play and shouldn't even be something considered for raid effectiveness. Having resurrection as a super power in the raid is no different than having the super power to grow your hair at will when your teammates are flying around and lifting things 60 times their body weight.
PAY ATTENTION TO US GOD DAMMIT.I WANT TO FEEL SPECIAL TOO.
Give us raids that literally force the entire team to die, depending on that resurrection. Give us raids that cluster so many arc shielded enemies into one god damn bunch that Stormcaller becomes a sought after mechanic.DESIGN AFTER OUR CLASSES ABILITIES AND ELEMENTS. The only raid mechanics you have ever used thus far are "Shoot these things and then follow up by shooting THOSE things and jump on shit for 10 minutes. Every mechanic is about dumping physical ammo into physical shit. Make classes and elements matter, like they should. Make a raid be more than an hour long michael bay film, full on action, bullets, and explosions, but lacking any form of substance.
It doesnt feel like you guys put much effort into the creation of these things... I mean shit, not to say all hunters have problems with the Hive Airport Terminal in the Taken King raid but its so bad that you guys had to allow everyone to buy an item that would make it easier for them to get through it because you didnt put much effort into the process of making sure shit works for certain classes.
I mean, where's the shit like "Oh hey, maybe like, we, guys listen, maybe there's like this, this machine. this machine guys. And like, warlocks have to shock it. they have to shock it to turn it on, and then like... and then like hunters, they have to like golden gun a gas valve to make it work right? and then, and then like maybe, just maybe. guys... just maybe a titan has to like... has to like slam a pad on the floor to activate the machine. To like make it, make it hurt the boss, or some shit. guys. Come on guys.
-blam!-ing use our abilities for fun, creative, imaginative shit. don't just turn us into walking ammo shitting factories, littering the galaxy with empty cartridges and corpses while jumping from one precarious ledge to the next. Yes, that's important, but there's more to life than pew pew and parkour, (pewkour). If I went to college to be a god damn graphic designer, I WANT TO BE A GRAPHIC DESIGNER. the same is for the class I'm playing. Sure I can shit lightning, -blam!-ing hover around like a god, and summon miniature lightning storms but what does that matter when I have a hunk of metal in my hands that shoots smaller hunks of metal and makes super neato noises, am I right? PEWPEWPEWPEWPEW.
But to digress to my original point, I'm tired of being the backseat class. the one no one prefers because I bring nothing to the table other than a life vest for when the plane explodes over the atlantic and I'm the only survivor alive to help drag the corpses out of the wreckage on the off chance I manage to swim 400 miles to shore and survive the shark attacks along the way. "I told you guys. I told you so -blam!-ing hard."

Well I know I have been requesting for warlocks all the time in hard raids because of self res. Especially Crota. Self res at the bridge to despawn adds and get the Titans up on the tower at work. And to generate orbs by killing the knights in the room at the Crota fight. Clutch self res in trials Self res at skolas in case a member dies and a teammate has to pass the thing on (forgot the name at the moment) Self res at confluxes or Templar back when it was difficult Clutch self res in nightfalls back when you would return to orbit if everyone died. And any other general self res in other parts and activities. I'd say that is EXTREMELY team beneficial. I know I would always hope for a warlock to be in my fireteam when I did these.

Edited by mcclean94: 10/25/2015 10:01:21 PMI ran through the first part of crotas end with stormcaller. I used my super twice I think. Hardly even ran. Just littered the floor with thrall.

3 RepliesYour job for the team is to create orbs for the others. Spam adds with any of the 3 supers and you can create 8 orbs for your teammates. They get to use supers more often and create orbs for you. That is what it means to be a Warlock...
grow their hair at will
lolol

Stormcaller for add clear on golgoroth is OP
-
1 ReplyYou make Warlocks look bad. Maybe, you should consider changing classes to a hunter :}
-
Stfu warlocks are perfect the way they are.
-
6 RepliesYou're a disgrace to warlocks you have been exiled and now must main a hunter
-
1 ReplyBungie loves warlocks Hell titans were shafted so much in year 1, bungie had to give them the most shine in y2 lmao
-
Clearly never cheesed the bridge on Crota's end... I had people begging me to play warlock.
-
Clearly you haven't used your Stormcaller during the Warpriest fight. The other guy with me on the plate didn't even have to do anything, just sat back and watched my lightning destroy everything around us. It's also quite useful down in Golgoroth's pit, keeping everyone down there from dying due to thrall. And you cannot even pretend to deny that a self-res Sunsinger isn't one of the best things to have during the Hard Oryx encounter. Sacrificing yourself to make sure the team gets a far away bomb is a huge help to the team.

Anybody who NEEDS a Defender or a Nightstalker makes me laugh.
-
1. I have regularly been fried by Stormcallers, obliterated by Nova Bombs that hit halfway across the map, perforated by shotgun-blinkers, and barbecued by Sunsingers who didn't have the courtesy to stay dead after I killed them. 2. I have often had my team's collective bacon saved by a self-rezzing Sinsinger; it may not have the pure support of a Defender, but I've been on raid parties that really felt it when there wasn't a warlock on the team. I don't personally really enjoy playing the warlock class (personal preference). But I respect the class, and I appreciate many of their abilities.

Stormcaller = adds gone...enough said
-
I stopped reading halfway through due to OP's inability to comprehend anything
-
I'm pretty sure bungie loves warlocks, they gave stormcaller an added blink and an exotic to make blink as good as before. This is like hunters in VoG, I think stormcaller are amazing at killing adds, like the taken phase of golgoroth. Or not to mention only warlocks can 2 man oryx. Warlocks are fine and so is every other class

1 ReplyCough* RADIANCE*cough cough
-
🖕you are giving a bad name to warlocks. We are so favored it's not funny. I'm a only warlock and disagree with all of this.
-
Song of flame? Insane orb generation?
-
1 ReplyI think at some point you're complaining that warlocks have no team support class? I don't know, but most people don't know that Sunsinger actually has a perk that reduces all cool downs for nearby allies while radiance is active. And it's not just a slight boost. It's significant. But no one uses that because Warlocks are too busy reviving themselves instead of helping their team.
-
5 RepliesWarlocks have the best grenades. We are the only class who can have two melee and two grenade charges. Look at our armor, recovery and speed stats. We can go super armor or super agility like none of the others. Warlocks know war is about second chances. Ever try Song of Flame? Howabout that shield melee? We only have to hit to get our shield, Titans have to kill. Perhaps you understimate the value of Angel of Light? Howabout Scatter Grenades into a mob of trash with Bloom on? Perhaps maybe Axion Bolt in Crucible? Have you tried Obsidian Mind on the Undying Mind? What about blink? Try Monte Carlo to add even faster melee charges which can in turn charge your super even faster. Have you tried Stormcaller for add control? Impossible Machines? Perhaps that high recovery and Touch of Malice? That Storm Grenade? What about Perpetual Charge? We can't make bubbles to boost defense or damage for a team. We can't provide invisibility or a dps boost. But we can do everything else in between. And that makes us mighty.
-
If you're using sunsinger just for the self Rez you aren't helping your team. Radiance can be used to lower the cool downs of all your teammates stuff. You hoarding your super for the self rez doesn't make the class bad it makes you bad.

You need a TL;DR scrub

Whorelock*

I will summon the hurt of butt. I must say the grind of destiny to lvl up even armor is a b*tch. I have to friggin lvl up my gauntlets with different reload perks. Not only to lvl up the light on them too. It's artificial b's. If we get a gun or armor it should just work with all perks ready.
-
Butthurt, we summon thee!! Warlocks were more or less sought after for crota's end. We needed sunsingers to cheese the bridge part, and to create orbs right before crota.
