Silver is another reason to get booted out of my fireteam.
Cosmetics are one thing. But once consumables and who knows what's after that become released, that's it.
If you paid real life money to have even the [b]slightest[/b] advantage over other players you will be booted.
Pay to win is a game breaking concept that has ruined many MMO'S. I will not tolerate it. I hope there is an aura or effect which shows who has some effect active, will make it that much easier.

are people stupid? most games that go pay to win are the games that go free to play. That means you get the base game for free and have to pay for advantages,exp,gear, ect. Once the base/vanilla version of destiny is free for all to download that is when you should be worrying. WoW has been out for years and thats not pay to win. Finalfantasy 14 ARR has been out for about 3 years and thats not pay to win. ESO has been out for over a year now and thats not pay to win. Guess what all those games I mentioned have microtransations and never went down that "slippery slope" of pay to win that all these media whores(IGN, GI) contstantly scare people about.

I agree! $160 since day one on content. No problems there. This type of game purchased up front should not have another pay structure within the game. Bad policy for consumers. It's not about the money I have or don't have. It's about how I spend my money and what is the value for me. IN MY OPINION, Those who support in game transactions even though they are only cosmetic, are being fooled. $5 for an emote is not proportionate to the effort put into making it. I would rather pay for future content as a whole than to be subjected to micro transactions.
