Okay, so, microtransactions went online today, along with them came a nerf to the drop rates of Motes, Strange Coins, and Weapon Parts. Coincidence? I think not. Why give us more to spend these currencies on, and at the same time make them harder to get?
aside from artificially lengthening playtime and stretching the grind
It seems like Bungie is taking the fist step towards making those three items (along with others, I'm sure) purchasable with silver. That sucks. I really hope that Eververse continues to deal exclusively cosmetic items, but I'd have to be pretty daft to expect that. I digress, screw you in advance Bungie, I thought we were friends.
Tl;Dr: If Bungie is going to sell motes, SCs, and weapons parts for silver, they can lick a taint.

4 RepliesPeaceful Protest is being held outside bungie HQ this up coming Monday at 10am Pacific Time Spread the word #gamerlivesmatter

I'm pretty sure it was because of the massive amounts of motes and strange coins everyone was able to accumulate on a weekly basis was pretty damn high. Hell, yesterday I got 20 coins from turning in bounties and just playing crucible so it's not even affected that bad
-
2 RepliesWeapon parts are the only issues. You used to be able to get a single strange coin OR a mote from a package. Now we get 4 of each. We used to get 1 mote for exo after the cap now we get 5 and we never got anything but exp for bounties and now we can get strange coins or motes
-
2 RepliesThe drop rate for everything was just insanely high. I started TTK with just over 300 motes. Even after spending over 500 on faction rep and tons on leveling new weapons I still have 150 motes left. Same with strange coins. I could get 80 a week no problem. I also did spend 1700 weapon parts on faction rep which sucks since they give more rep now.

2 RepliesSorry to burst your bubble, but bungie team tweeted that there won't be any micro transactions like that, will be and continue to be just cosmetic.
-
First consumables, then shaders, then weapons and armor, then exclusive weapons and armor you can only get with silver.

2 RepliesYou and so many others on this forum are making so many assumptions and then whining like 3 year olds. It paints a clear picture of your character that really isn't flattering.

24 RepliesI don't get why everybody is complaining... It's just like every other major MMO. If they start selling resources (Materials, Motes, Strange Coins, Armor Parts) what's the big deal? We will have to choose between grinding or buying, and honestly, that does not give any advantage to people who decided to buy things with silver. Even if they start selling exotic engrams... What's the point? They might get their 6th 310 Hawmoon (I'm a little salty, since all I get are Hawkmoons... Since year 1) after paying 20 bucks... If you have enough money to burn through the RNG system, then be my guest. Guys, it's 2015, PSX days are gone and Bungie is not a name, it's a group of people who need money to bring food to their families tables. Charging 60 USD for a game is not enough, they (Industry related companies) need to create an steady income to keep the business running. It's your choice to buy a $60 game or $10 of Silver. If you don't like this model, stop gaming, because this is just the way it is now. Companies like EA and Activision have a completely different way of doing business than CDProjekt (Witcher) but in the end, it's all about the same thing, making money to invest in better resources (both human and technological) and then develop better games. TL:DR - Micro transactions are fine, they are just means to an end, an end we all have to understand.

5 RepliesTons of coins and light drops in banner. Making much more than before. So shut up and maybe try to see this as a logical adjustment to gameplay, not another baseless accusation of villany.

1 ReplyCouldn't agree more! I am, what some people might call, a Destiny fanboy. However, if they introduce paying for things that, in anyway shape or form, give you an in-game advantage, that will be too much for even me to overlook. No matter how subtle or big the advantage, from an ammo synth to the outright purchase of an exotic weapon, please Bungie, for the love of god, DON'T DO IT!!!

I just need fracking weapon parts man. I've played this game for a total of 1800 hours and I've got 4 weapon parts to show for it
-
The coincidence is far too strong. These material drop rates didn't even need to be adjusted. If anything they needed to be increased...
-
3 RepliesI got over 30 coins yesterday alone just from doing bounties, turning in engrams and running POE 28 twice. So, umm...

I see you got your tin foil hat on nice and tight.

8 RepliesCan't wait for halo 5. A game with an actual multiplayer and campaign. Fuck bungie.

1 ReplySo not only is this forum is going to bash Bungie over everything and anything they do but now it's on to bashing them for things that they might do? Y'all need to play the game and stop looking for things to be upset about.

Bungie is constantly trying to stretch play time until the next DLC. It's how they get people hooked.

9 RepliesEdited by SlaterKaz: 10/14/2015 8:19:36 AMThey are so devious it's unreal. Literally no one ever said: 'Strange coins are dropping too much, Motes are dropping too much, Weapon parts? Too many bungie get rid of them please" On top of this Nightfalls are useless, the weekly pvp bounty is Useless and the raid drops are -blam!-ing horrible. 7 shotguns in 10 runs... Smarter loot system my anus.

Go play maplestory

2 RepliesBump. Wow, they may lose a large part of their dedicated player base with this. The sad thing is that it likely will not hurt their bottom line, so it will just continue despite the overwhelmingly positive responses to the growing number of posts like these in the forum.

4 RepliesNO MICROTANSACTIONS. This is a slippery slope they're dancing on. Sure its fun and games buying little things that are just for flair, but a year down the road it wont be fun anymore when you've been trying to beat a new raid for months and cant get any new gear anywhere, and you look over to this ever-verse shack and see an armor set that will most assuredly help you win but it only costs about 20 bucks in silver. Sure it doesn't matter now, but with common items like armor and weapon upgrade materials being made less available and the rarer drops like strange coins are now made even harder to get I can only see that they're getting ready to move this whole thing to pay to win. What make me worried about this scenario is that they included the silver next to legendary marks and glimmer instead of giving you an inventory of how much you have when you activate the vendor, perhaps they'll bundle it and make you think you're getting a great deal while instead getting shafted. Yea there's lots of pro's to this microtransation thing, like decreased cost of expansions and things that matter but this system is used purely for impulse purchases and nothing else. There are hundreds of MMO's where this type of transaction is implemented and it practically forces you to buy because you grow impatient with grinding for hours (maybe even days) and it uses an instant gratification tactic to get you to shell out money for something simple, then you level up and need to farm, get aggravated with taking to much time, and the cycle repeats. 10 dollars might not seem like a lot of money at the time but spending that much a month or maybe a week adds up fast. I'll just pay for the expansions and that's all.
-
1 ReplyI'm not even surprised at all by this, I saw it coming as soon as I heard about the introduction of micro transactions. Now I'm just waiting to see how long it takes them to start putting motes and strange coins up for silver. My guess is no longer than a month.
-
Just.... No this is like Farmville a over again (accept with silver)

2 RepliesI'm gonna be honest. If that idea comes to fruition, I'm likely to just stop playing. I genuinely never thought I'd say that since I love Playing Destiny. But if they continue like this and the microtransactions start to become an option for game items that aren't simply cosmetic, I MIGHT stop playing. Only if they keep reducing the drop rate of motes and coins though, because that really would make it seem like they're trying to force you towards the microtransactions.
