So,I play plenty, get crap loads of engrams and drops, been around 290 for at least a week and a half...so why are 95% of my drops and engrams all popping up as 260 to 270 light???? Will I ever be able to hit 300??? Not with this drop system for loot...NF and heroics seem to ammount to lots of wasted time.
Anybody else having this issue?
Biggest gripe im at like 292 decrypting engrams both rare and legendary,as are friends, and we keep getting items 20-30 light below consistantly...mabye 5 % of the time it is 290 to 300 and that is out of more engrams than I can try and put a number on...its just insane how they expect the average player to get any progress when a heavy player cant even get the proper ratio of quality drops.
edit eh- For those telling me to raid...yes...i have done it...a few times...but i dont have 5 friends all able to waste huge ammounts of time struggling with the raid every week, hell,we cant even get our 290 ish light guardians past the warpriest cuz it is hard as hell for those that are not gaming gods...at least I now know my destiny exp stops now at yr2...290 forever and will end that way

They are. I got a 298 attack blue scout rifle. At light level 288.
-
It's called they are throttling player progression . they need you to keep playing and so the carrot dangles.

2 RepliesThe problem is there isnt enough gear for the game to have high level gear sets. Raid gear and trials gear are the only top tier sets we will have
-
1 ReplyHere's wat I did. Get one of ur characters as high a level as u can, then switch to another and do the level 36 strike play list. Get a vanguard streak of 5 or higher and ur almost guaranteed to get better loot. The system is designed for ur other characters to catch up quickly giving out better gear

Ive started seeing a lot of green drops at 160 over last cpl days in level 41 strikes and dailies so theyre no good to anyone and certainly nowhere near my 296 light level
-
1 ReplyNobody promised you that, so how is this even a complaint?
-
I am at 303/304 and have been consistently getting 260s/270s.
-
2 RepliesYes I had the same problem. The level of the engrams all of the sudden went down instead of staying the same or going higher?
-
Hve you been doing the raid and the quests? A lot of high light rewards come from the quests alone
-
8 RepliesWhy is everyone in a rush to get 300 + armor. Enjoy the ride
-
Raid gear is the best way to go. Soon I hope trials gear will be also.
-
If only the raid were a guaranteed way to boost your light. I've done it twice on my Titan and he's only gotten a single drop.. The Gauntlets. No weapons, no class items, just some gloves. Whoop-de-doo
-
It sucks when you grind for an hour and not a single engram is higher than you but trust me just keep going at it. I was stuck at 289 forever but had a sudden influx of higher light shit.
-
the first week drops were wicked now there crap this was bungie sucking you in..
-
I can certainly understand your frustration. The week taken king came out I had to prepare to go out of town for a family emergency and when I came back all of my buddies had finished most of their side quest grinds and were ready to do the raid whereas I haven't hit 290 yet. I'm not complaining, but I do understand your frustration.
-
Drop quality seems to work on a natural log based scale. Getting up to 295 is rather quick compared to the grind from 295 to 310.
-
Why the hell are you trying to level 3 characters and then whining that it's taking a long time. Pick one, grind the hell out of him and BEAT the raid. Another question, if you don't raid why do you even care what your level is? 290 is able to do the nightfall.
-
once you get to about 295 you have to do the raid to get higher just look at my hunter im forever stuck at 298 and the tinyest bit away from 299 (if i have all my higher weapons equipped)
-
The forever 290s are here my friends.
-
1 ReplyIt's not a bug, it's a feature. Low level gear breaks down for upgrade materials like always, and you can also use it on other characters, either directly equipping it or to infuse their class gear higher quickly. My Hunter went from 180 to about 265 almost overnight by equipping & infusing with the discards from my Titan. I'll do the same with my Warlock when it's her turn to level up.
-
Forever 290. I've gotten ONE item at 300. One. And I'm hesitant to infuse it since it's worth more as a 300. Not to mention Xur blessed me with my FIFTH obsidian mind helmet. RNG is better my ballsack.
-
Once you are ~290 your 'loot level' is capped out, and you will get loot from about 260-300 although the high 295+ drops are extremely rare, and as you fill out your slots with good gear, it becomes increasingly difficult to find better gear. This is just the way it works, otherwise we would all be 300 within a week.
-
Once you're 290 it becomes harder to get better loot. They want you to raid or if that's not your cup of tea then trials or iron banner.
-
Do plenty of strikes. You will eventually get that one lucky blue or purple that is 290+, at which point you will have to make the hard choice of infusing up for a few points, or waiting to potentially get something higher and not having to waste marks. Strikes net you so many engrams. I like to think Heroics give you better Light engrams, but I have no clue. The regular strikes only take about 7-10 minutes tops.
-
No raid drops and I'm at 297. Just gotta keep playing. Run heroic strikes, CoO t3, crucible, and nightfalls. I've done different parts of the raid but haven't completed any drop points.

3 RepliesYou can't expect to level up from EACH Engram. 290s should RAID to level up. Not me though~ No raid and 299~
