I got 290 within a week of causal play. It took months to hit 30. I don't know why people are in such a rush here.

Run strikes/nightfall get gear up to 300. Plus do missions, I got a 300 relic and shotty as mission rewards. And a 298 pulse rifle from nightfall yesterday.

Nope it doesn't compare to forever 29 most people had 1 character and had 1 shot at 30 each week

7 Replies290 struggle is non existent, blue engrams drop like crazy and it's not hard to get to 290. After that just get someone with an antiquated rune so you can get a 300 artifact

Leveled my Titan from lvl 34 to 40 and 291 light in about 3hrs last night (although requires me to swap over my best weapons and ghost).

I was stuck at 289 for 6 days between 2 characters. Finally passed 290 yesterday.

The court of oryx is one of the best places to get higher gear imo. It may take a while to get in to a dreadnaught with 5+ people at the court but I leveled my hunter up about 40 light levels with the court

1 ReplyIt's actually 295. The trick is to always have your highest number light gear equipped while cashing in engrams. Also, cash them in ONE at a time. Check the light level of each, equip what is highest, then cash the next one in. I went from the 260s to the 290s in a couple of days.

Not even in the same ballpark as forever 29. We need a little luck and a raid drop or two to get out of the 290's. From 29-30 most people had multiples of the same character, and a giant golden horse shoe hanging out of their a$$.

Wow really? Just do all the missions, by the end I was above 290 without even having done the heroic strike yet. Court of Oryx, do all the Taken War quests, do some strikes. Done.
