Good bye to all the toxic players
So I've been playing since beta, I have three characters all 34 if I put the armor on them for it. I've been through the highs, the lows, the buffs, the nerfs, vault of glass, crotas end, prison of elders. I still have my shadow price. Vision of confluence, G-Horn, the loot cave, I've seen it all. And let me say, I LOVE everything they are doing with the taken king. People are complaining that they are taking away our old weapons and armor, do you actually want to use the same weapons for the next ten years? You do realize that things change right? Why are you complaining that there are new weapons and items and activities out there to discover and obtain? They aren't just erasing all of your stuff, it will still be there, it just won't be the best stuff in the game any more. Which is what happens in every DLC/Expansion/sequel in the history of gaming.
So for all the people saying that this was a dumb move, or they aren't playing any more because they can't upgrade their fatebringer/G-Horn/Thorn, and attacking people for being ok with the changes, good bye and good riddance. You are part of the problem, not the solution. I hope you find fun some where else, but please stop poisoning this mostly great and helpful community.
Edit: for the people that don't get it, I agree it would be nice to have all of our things carry over, but in this type of game, that's the nature of it. Each time the game expands we will have to put our old toys away, and go out and get the new ones. Is it right, or going to make everyone happy? No, but that's the game design. I have no problem with people stating their opinions, but attacking people and claiming to boycott when everyone knows you won't is not going to solve anything at all.
Edit: if you get shut down by other people in another comment, I'm not acknowledging you unless you have something intelligent to say.

My issue with this isn't that all my weapons can't come over, really. But A; there has been a distinct lack of clear communication up till now exactly which exotics can/can't and B) I don't intend to play with any weapon for 5-10 yrs, was that a serious comment on your part? But having gone into the VoG several time and knowing others who've done it loads more I can agree that the work put into getting either a specific weapon or just any of the Raid gear it is a frustration to be told "You can use it in the crucible or vanilla". Sorry, but that's an insult to me, and that is because A: I don't play crucible all that much and Raid geat doesn't exactly match up for it even if I did beyond some weapons like PR or FJ for me. And B: Why would I use an older and now "Weaker" weapon to run a Patrol/Strike(if you can)? I believe that is the issue, not "collect my whining tears because I can't use my old weapons forever". TBH, I'd expect to replace what Raid gear I use with some newer, cooler looking shiny piece I find in TTK, that's just normal. But here's also a thought to consider, why would any new players take any time to do VoG/CE for weaker weapons than TTK? Doing a Raid as anyone is aware isn't a 25 minute operation (well for the groups I was with at least and requires more than solo) Wfor most people) when at lvl 20 they can already be doing TDB/HoW and at 25 TTK?

Totally agree. I think that's one of the reasons (rightly or wrongly) that poe was so underwhelming for people; the new guns paled in comparison to the ones you had that you could ascend. Why do Skolas to get a 365 arc primary when you could get etheric light from nf or poe 34 and ascend fatebringer or the fang? This way there is an incentive to do the end game content and get better weapons

My loadout on 3 characters is usually the following:- VoC/Fatebringer Black Hammer/Found Verdict Gjallahorn And you know what? I cant wait for TTK, to finally say goodbye to these weapons and find my next niche. They've been great but time to put them to rest and lay them in my vault for one last time.

1 ReplyBoycott TTK, at least cancel your pre-orders. This is the only way we can influence bad behavior on the part of publishers. Year One was a chopped up and dumbed down game. This was a business decision for Activision to make more money. Don't reward it. I don't really care about the stupid weapons, just about the senseless grinding for a game with no story. Yes PvP is fun and could be great, but Bungie doesn't really support it by preventing massive lag and disconnections.

It's more about Bungies lack of communication that has caused backlash. Bungie talked up the next update ( weapon buffs AR's, necrochasm and weapon Nerfs, TLW/ G'horn), they also released that bit about how "Necrochasm has tested well in TTK, it's fun to use". All of those gave many no reason to doubt that these weapons would be coming along to TTK. When they found out their days of grinding for the Husk of the Pit were in vain, the naturally were angered. This should have been communicated from the get go. Absolutely no reason the mislead players. I'm a fanboy of Destiny but 100% understand the anger and disappointment, which should and could have been avoided by some honesty from Bungie.

The people that complain and are "NOT" going to play will find the next OP weapon and forget about ghorn and fatebringer etc.... Im actually glad for a change. Im pretty sure that if they would continue sticking with the same gear and weapons, they would lose more people than they will for not bringing year one gear to year two. Just my opinion

Good post and i agree. Its not like we cant use our favorites in regular crucible and old activites anyway, they will still be relevent. The only time we will need the new guns really is for ttk mission, the new raid and iron banner. And given that legendaries are now easier to get, as they are given for certain missions it will be better for it and we can collect new guns to love. Good day guardians.

It's not even about the weapons anymore . It's more about me contributing 200.00 dollars (2discs) for them to finally get around to making the game I had been sold on initially . I give to charity every year and last I checked neither bungie or Activision or non profit organizations or start up companies. That is my beef with this game and why I still haven't spent anymore money towards it.

What is everyone's problem, your not loosing anything, it all carries over. If you want something more powerful then you can work for it, he'll I'm still useing old gear I never upgraded with etheric light, you can still use your old gear, and if you want that extra punch.....just like raid gear, I mean let's face it all that raid gear and poe gear really isn't great for anything else other then getting you to the next level.....that's what your current gear is for, to get you to the next level, the next set of gear.....or continue with what you have....you have a choice, your just choosing to sit in the corner and cry. Your loss.

Day one player here. I can't wait for TTK. I like everything they are doing. My biggest gripe about the game is WHY CAN'T I TURN ON THE DARN FLASHLIGHT WHENEVER I WANT?! BUNGIE PLS BUFF FLASHLIGHT

3 RepliesI wish this post were true to form....but it doesn't matter whether they quit the game or not...they just can't find their way off the forums.....these trolls & cryhards who come here to constantly tell people why they should hate this game instead of actually moving on to play a game they do like are just sad and pathetic losers who have nothing going on in their lives sexually, financially, or socially. Those who come here to tell us how to spend are money are just the poverty stricken losers making excuses for why they won't be buying it when in fact they just don't have the disposable income that we have.....they have nothing going on in their lives so they come here...it is our job to keep feeding them...to give them a small reason to keep on living....

As a Day 1 player i am ok with leaving behind weapons and armour. i like the grind of upgrading new items and testing out new guns, and anyways we can all use our old weapons and armour in the crucible as damage and defence are standard (not including IB or ToO). It will be fun finding new gear again and then going into crucible dusting off one of your old guns and smashing people with and have them ask themselves where this person got such an awesome gun from. I think as a player in this game you always have to adapt we cant expect to have the same guns when destiny 2 drops i mean that would be so boring. I know some of you will not agree but come on guys and girls its just a game its not affecting your real life at all.

Yep, totally agree, looking forward to using all the new gear, the only thing that I have grown attached to is my Warlock, and his coming along for the ride, with a whole new kickass power and badass guns and armour! Getting excited!

A well thought out and well written post saying you like what bungie is doing? You are evil and must be expunged! In all seriousness, I completely agree. I never wanted nor expected all these year one weapons to still be relevant as Destiny expands. Does that mean that I won't miss some old weapons? Of course not, but I am ready and willing to leave them behind. I am excited to see what new and powerful weapons will be waiting for us in the coming years. The point of a system like this is that is changes and moves on. That's where the fun of it lies. There is always something new to find and use and master. I think the problem with the community though is that the majority of it is made up of players who are not used to an mmo-like system. They come from other fps games and expect Destiny to be like them. It's not. While Destiny is not technically an mmo, it is built and runs like one. New expansions will always be coming out that force you to leave old weapons and armor behind. That's the point. Embrace it now or get out while you can, because that's the way it will always be with Destiny. Now, that said, all of this does not mean you can never use your favorite old weapons again! They will still be viable in old missions and strikes and raids. I for one will still be making trips down into the Vault, and when I do I'll be bringing my VoC with me!

I agree with you OP. The only thing I feel odd about is the fact that not all of our exotics are moving on. Not 'because of all our hard work' but because sinc exotics are made primarily to feel different and liven up your gameplay, it's kind of weird to tell only certain people that you favourite exotic is not moving on, and then turn to the next person and saying we've made you a new version of your favourite exotic. But oh well. Bring on the new toys.

I am sick of seeing the exact same threads over and over again on the forums about some exotics not coming to year 2. If EVERY exotic carried over through the 10 year duration of this series, the final Destiny game would have like 200 exotic weapons and like 40 legendary weapons to choose from. Not only would that completely take away from the "exotic" factor, but that would be impossible to balance, and would eventually come to a point where they just stopped making new weapons altogether. How people are completely blind-sided by this is beyond me. The December quote people keep referencing is irrelevant to me because ideas, such as development and vision, change on projects of this magnitude and that quote is 8 months old. Do I wish they would find a system and stick to it? Absolutely, but people need to come to terms that this is how games like this function. New, higher level content drops, so we need new, higher level weapons to use. We should just be thankful that SOME exotics are coming back and stop focusing on what was omitted. The full "exotic plan" hasn't even been completely outlined yet by Bungie, so many of these threads are based on speculation.
