WAS THE DREADNAUGHT SUPPOSED TO BE IN VANILLA DESTINY?
Alright, I'm not entirely for sure what this says about the upcoming DLC, or what to really even make of this. But in this old vidoc "out in the wild" released about a year ago, we see some footage around the[u][b] 33 second mark[/b][/u] of a Hive location that is not currently in the game. You can definitely see a fully developed location, and it is clearly in-game footage....so, it begs the question...[b]is this more content cut from the base game? [/b]How can we have footage of this "completely new location" way back before Destiny even launched. I'm really trying for Bungie here with this new DLC...but I'm not so sure how I feel about dropping 40+ $$ on content that should have been in the base game. Bump this thread to see if we can get any answers and let me know what you all think! [b][/b]

No it was not supposed to be in vanilla Destiny, neither was the pic of the reef, or the lighthouse, or any other of those things. I believe that trailer was for All of Destiny.

HoW missions look like the first video of Desiny at 2013 E3 (Or whatever it's called, I'm 35 and play video games in sneakers and jeans, not a tux). HoW missions are the only missions where the enemies literally drop from the ceiling, as in the original Destiny E3 videos. (drops mic)

Think about it this way the original explanation pack gave us the game and 2 dlcs (not including ttk) Well why would they be releasing 2 other dlcs after ttk? I'm getting this bc I'vewaited a year to kill oryx. And use the 3rd subclass and it seems they are finally getting the idea. Always said it had potential and TTK will prove if new bungie can do it. Plus yes me and my friends have balanced play between this and MCC. And other games. But if I don't get it it'll be Halo 5 before we all have the same game. Of course outta original 12 only 4 confirmed to return. And outta the 12 I'm the biggest skeptic. And I have pre ordered TTK digital download. Basically in my opinion over paying 40 dollars. But I've been lucky not to purchase crappie games so ok outta 30 yrs gaming I've wasted 40 no big deal. I believe TTK is worth 40 and if your a new player paying 60 for the whole thing great deal. And if you find value in it as an existing player it's your right to spend extra 40, 60, or how ever much is the collectors edition. Which looks better than the Gost edition we were offered. For clarification I believe vanilla destiny should of been 40 dollars and and dlc all together since how I bought it was that 20 less. My opinions but do give TTK a try as existing. If it is an improvement and it is to believe destiny was rushed due to late changes etc. Give TTK a fair shot and finish your story. The fact of what last two dlc gave is seems way less than this together. And they seem to be fixing them and vanilla for only 40 dollars. Then I'm doing and will be streaming it for any one unsure. I'm sure others will too so check streams out the 15. Ps as far as things existing prior to launch we have no definitive proof. They say place holders while they work and we say they pulled it. Do what you want with that.

5 RepliesDoes anyone remember the leak in October of last year. The person said the raid would be on a hove ship, it would have a part where an ogre is chasing us on sparrows. He went over new subclasses which are different but similar. I think this guy was actually a tester like he said. Everyone disregarded his claims because tdb didn't have new subclasses, I think he was testing ttk.

I mean... There isn't an industry at ALL, other than video games that does this... Oh wait. Books. Movies. EVERY industry which incorporates trilogies, multiple sections of a whole story. Get over yourself. Why do we need to feel so entitled? Screw you JK Rowling for writing a whole story... but making us pay for EACH PART!!! GAAAHHHH!!!!

We all know that there were a lot of things shown and promised...none of which materialized. So what? The community doesnt care to hold the developer accountable....so Bungie will continue to milk until dry. Can't really blame them, I guess.

All the dlc wasn't dlc. It was in the game. Then the lead story guy quit, and they ruined it. I'm just buying all dlc for the actual gameplay.

I'm pretty sure every company has things that they start developing, and then realize won't be fully complete by the sale date, so it goes on the back shelf to be finished later. Just because a part of it was complete doesn't mean that communists buried the content along with the proof of aliens in Area 51. Even if it was, if you got $60 of play time out of the Vanilla Destiny, then it's fair. That's what really matters. There will [i]always[/i] be something more that could have been done. In the end of the day it's a value proposition.

I found concept art that links up to several parts of the Dreadnaught, but it didn't mean it was cut. It's possible it was meant to be part of the Hellmouth, but didn't fit the theme, got cut and was recycled for the Dreadnaught.

Was Halo 2 supposed to have Battlefield style multiplayer and at least 3 additional campaign missions? Yes, but Bungie overestimated their ability and had to completely rework Halo 2 from scratch. Bungie has a history of cutting content from games.
