At what point does Next Gen, become current gen.
The question is this, at what point can we just call next gen consoles current gen. I get it, maybe you can't afford a ps4 or xbone, I get it I do. But it's been quite some time. At some point you can't continue to hold people back.

People will start calling it that Ina year or so or when true next generation consoles are revealed, whichever comes first

1 ReplyThe proper answer to this question is, of course, the day of the console's release. I think what you're trying to ask though is, "At what point can we consider a new console generation mainstream enough to push the previous gen into irrelevancy?" To that, I would say around two years. It takes a considerable amount of time to get a proper library of games available that will entice people to drop a couple hundred. As the popular game series's move over, people will slowly follow.

An adult with a job can buy a new console, no problem. People who whine need to learn how to overtime or wait until they're not 14 anymore.

We were told we would be getting machines capable of 1080p 60fps which the ps4 does sometimes and the xbox one very rarely does. Steam machines are the future.

Next Gen only exists in labs right now. You know if you had enough money- you could make your own next Gen.

Last generation is referred to as last gen, and has been for a long time. Next gen is current gen

1-2 years. Ps4/Xbone = current gen. Xbox 360/ps3 = old gen.

At that point, the new consoles already has price cuts, a better library of games, amazing bundles, and already feature games that transfers data from the older console to the newer one. And in xbone and wii u's case, theres backwards compatibility, so you don't have to sell some of your favorite games from the older consoles

I have both ps4 and xbox one and with out a dought ps4 is new gen and xbox is not.
