Seems like many forgot the basics in IB. So many more...
Location, location, location…not just a real estate tenet. Location is one of the primary strategic considerations in any battle, be it Gettysburg or Shores of Time.
Shores of Time and Blind Watch:
Due to the location of A, far away from the other zones, it makes controlling multiple zones difficult (multiple zones give you a bonus on kills). Each time you die, you spawn near the zone you control. If you capture A, you will have to spend 3x as long to reach B or C.
GENERAL:
Spawns:
On all maps there are two main spawns, one by A and one by C. CORRECTION TO PREVIOUS STATEMENT: spawn locations after death are influenced by the location of other players on the map. If you have more players for longer in a spawn zone than the enemy, you will tend to spawn in that zone. (thanks to JayKoBlanko for the correction)
Spawn flipping:
Alternately capturing A & C. Beware of enemies spawning behind or adjacent to you when this occurs. It can be exploited if you are prepared and cover the spawn areas.
Scoring:
Extra points per kill:
Control 1 zone: 50
Control 2 zones: 100
Control 3 zones: 200
Zone kills: 25 (kill while capturing zone or being near one of your zones)
Delayed gratification:
While the lure of extra points from capturing all 3 zones is strong, unless the other team is very weak, it is nearly impossible to hold 3 for long. On Shores and Blind capturing A draws friendly players off the other two zones, often resulting in a spawn flip.
Disclaimer: this list is drawn from experience playing Crucible with randoms. As individual skill level and size of fireteam rises, the value of this post falls…ergo, I know that elite players don’t need any guidance from someone who sucks as much as I do and that I should stop whining and “git gud” or quit.

2 RepliesDo whatever you want. Just don't die doing it. Those are the rules.
-
6 Replies*holds C and B.* "Zone A neutralized." "no." "Zone A captured." "No." "All zones controlled." "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO."
-
I love capturing A
-
1 ReplyFirst of all, I capture whatever I want. Secondly, don't play with me. And last but not least find 5 other people to play. Have a good night! :)
-
2 RepliesA is for Awesome, I will always capture Awesome.
-
I'm no expert pvp-er but in general it seems like you are rarely better off trying to take and keep all 3 zones Getting 2 and making the other team play offense seems to generate more wins. Going for 3 seems to flip the spawns, spread the team to thin, and cause the score to flip unless you are mopping the floor with the other team.

1 ReplyWhy not just hold A and C... Forget about B and just fight off those coming towards A and C. Would save and gain loads of points. I don't get why people always go for the 'popular' points. There is no point in that, capture the 2 lesser points and let the other team think they are awesome holding the 'popular' one.
-
2 RepliesI've seen A and C captured, purposely, enemy spawns at B and they are trapped. It all depends on how good your team is. I've won games with only one zone capped.
-
5 RepliesCapping A on shores of time is the best u moron. That's where the heavy ammo spawns. I lock this location down every time and my team always gets the heavy ammo
-
13 RepliesNever capture A on burning shrine either Whoever spawns inside wins every time
-
If u spawn be it in the beginning if u don't cap it u r a fool but don't spend any effort in holding it let the other team spend effort recapping it while u move on
-
Agreed. Even better when teammates run away from zone when other team holds all zones.
-
I wouldn't say never. If you start near A do capture A, then move to C. Don't go first cave entrance unless you like to be sniped. After you take C, try to get B but defend C with your life. At this point NEVER go to capture A, or best don't even spend time on the other side of the map. Not taking A at the start can be the difference between winning or losing. (points) This is from a camper who's favorite map is shores, i fight tooth and nail to get C, and i camp the shit out of if :)

11 RepliesI think this is a somewhat well made post ... however. I think it's also much easier to sum up. Don't cap A on shores of time EVER. YOU NEVER WANT THE A FLAG ON SHORES. If you start the game there so what ... -blam!- it... go to the C flag. NEVER CAP THE A FLAG ON SHORES. The why of which should be immediatly visible. If it isn't than you need to play more crucible and do what the people on the top of the scoreboard tell you.

4 RepliesEdited by wizardeiges: 7/8/2015 9:33:20 AMWhen I see someone take A I want to -blam!-ing break their disk and hurl their system into a train and then smash the remains with a sledge hammer. Like -blam!-ing seriously HOW STUPID DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO TAKE A WHEN YOUR TEAM HAS B AND C. OMFG THIS PISSES ME OFF SO MUCH. I refuse to get dragged down by shitty players who can't think worth a shit. If you take A then I'll spend the rest of the match waving at every enemy I see until the match is over with. I made a couple friends from waving at them when I got paired with idiots who kept taking A. I got the entire enemy team to dance with me in a couple matches after they seen I didn't give a -blam!- about winning anymore. I will not carry your stupid -blam!-ing ass when you're ruining the game. -blam!- I can't even count how many games were ruined by some dumb -blam!- who thought it was a great idea to take A on shores of time.

6 RepliesDo not capture A on: Shores of Time The Burning Shrine Blind Watch
-
If you hold C, A is incredibly easy to defend. A few seconds extra travel time is washed away by player skill. Adapt to the opponent.
-
Don't let the noobs know, lest they learn tactics and usurp the pros
-
I just run past A and go right to C on shores of time, hoping others will follow each time
-
This guy speaks good words. Listen to him! Never try to cap all 3 points. Always cap the 2 that have best synergy with each other. On shores of time B & C are the best. This is because you can easily move between the 2 and you can also defend B while you are at C with sniper rifles and scout rifles. On Blind watch, it is also B & C.
-
1 ReplyNice rewrite. Good info, helps explain why capturing A can be dangerous.
-
You speak the truth, just wish more people practiced what you're saying
-
Lol. People wont listen. But i hear ya
-
Actually, if the team spawns at A and fails to capture C, giving up on C (rather than feed kills) and holding A and B is quite doable. Talking of the Shores maps
-
Errr. When B is nothing more than a pissing match between both teams, its fairly easy to cap C and grab A, then defend for a win.
-
If I spawn on the A side, I immediately run to B, chuck grenades and defend.
