Put in ESO...Terrible...Put Destiny Back In
Everyone talked about how good ESO was.
I was suckered into buying it. Played for 10 minutes and realized how garbage it was.
Destiny is back in the Xbox.
Lesson learned.
EDIT: To be clear. My expectations was another epic Elder Scrolls Game. If you play any of the the other ES games you will be hooked for months in 10 minutes. My expectations were too high compared to previous ES games.
EDIT 2: You go to buy a new car and decide to buy a Ferrari. You love the previous cars and know the Ferrari brand name. You are excited about the prospect of this new car!
You buy this new Ferrari model and begin driving it home. You notice on the inside there is the Kia symbol all over the interior. The car breaks down after the first 10 minutes and the wheels fall off.

I've been playing it. It's the only other game I've played since I started destiny. I like both for different reasons though, so I'll spend time in both worlds.

6 RepliesDon't buy the game if you expect Skyrim Online. It isn't. Its combat is more involved (not hard considering Skyrim had the most bare bones combat ever), the lore spans the whole world, it takes time to level, and the early game is very slow compared to the endgame. Then there's also massive PvP, which involves siege machines to sack/defend forts, stealing Elder Scrolls, doing PvP zone only quests, etc. Basically, it's an MMO. Do your research ahead of time. Don't buy it blind and expect to be blown away within 10 minutes. That's enough time to sprint through the tutorial (which gets you to level 3, so you have two or three abilities tops, compared to having tons available that are morphed and fun), and see literally nothing else of the game. If you judge the game off 10 minutes and decide you hate it, you don't have the patience for MMOs

8 RepliesSo you played the tutorial, like 8 min there. Did like one or two town quests, probably had one ability, and quit cold turkey. Yup, anyone would think it sucked after that poultry time spent.

11 RepliesESO is the game Methstiny wishes it was. The graphics are amazing. Story is awesome. Combat takes skill not just pull trigger. The maps are huge and it's a true free roam "If you can see it you can go there" Methstiny is like watching your dog chase it's tail round and round but never catches it

2 RepliesThe main problem here is going in to a new game, expecting it to be like older games. Its just not a good habit to practice. Especially if you don't play a variety of games. My outcome was different. I bought the Skyrim collectors edition, and only played the game for a few hours. I didn't enjoy it at all. However, I am loving ESO. Its actually pulled me further away from Destiny than any other game. I'm not saying you should give it another chance. Just don't play new games just becuase you enjoyed past ones. Every game is different, and will either add new elements, or remove old ones. Plus, like others are saying, Destiny is kind of the same way. It's Bungie made, and so everyone was on the "They made Halo!" hype train, but many didn't play past the first week, day, or even hour. Also, renting games for rental stores is still an option these days. If you're unsure about a game, rent it before buying. Never forget that option.

An online friend had the same worries because he loved Skyrim and had high hopes for ESO and in his first ten minutes was talking about how disappointed he was ESO wasn't like Skyrim. However, he kept playing because I said I would pick up the game as well and now he is hooked on ESO.
