What's so fun about Fallout?
I see lots of people saying this game is so fun and can't wait to ditch Destiny for it. So I did some research and watched gameplay on YouTube and it looks kind of boring and childish.. Opinions guardians?

Why ditch Destiny for Fallout? Why not for Bloodborne? Why not for Arkham Knight or the Witcher? I've already logged in a good 70 hours into Bloodborne.

Watching gameplay is rarely entertaining. Don't judge it solely off of watching someone else play.

Well, it'd also probably be very boring to only watch people play, say, monopoly or chess. Games come alive really when they're played by the individual, they're not movies - though some story-based games are constructed to be cinematic and look good to watch So it's not always possible to judge a game's merits just by watching it. And that's possibly the case with fallout. It's a slower, more deliberate game that you take your time with, exploring the world's mysteries and building your character

1 ReplyNo one is allowed to have an opinion about fallout until they play new Vegas, lvl up enough to go into the divide, and then complete the divide. If after all that you still think it isn't a good series then you should probably stop playing games in general or go back to wii.

1 ReplyCalls Fallout childish ..... calls us guardians. Considering Destiny is aimed at kids, childish isn't something you want to be throwing at other games. Not to mention that a lot of folk here quit Destiny and some never played it to start with. Guardians is the wrong thing to be calling folk. That said, play them, don't watch them. You can pick up Fallout 3 and New Vegas cheap as chips. Pretty far from childish. They can be boring if you don't like exploring and walking.

But anyway, there are so many things to love about, one of the most basic necessities of course is the freedom of exploration and discovery. Something truly special about the Fallout franchise is that it hosts both a satirical funny time while still supporting a rough world of harsh survival, something no other franchise has accomplished. If you think Fallout is dull and boring then trying to enjoy it will lead you nowhere; Fallout is for mature hardcore gamers who want to find some immersion in their game as well as experiencing a truly unique atmosphere, if you don't enjoy that then you never will.

I agree at times Fallout can be boring. But nothing childish about the game, it's more mature then Destiny that's for sure

1 ReplyIt's fun at first but then you realize the game shows you everything it is in the first 3 hours. It gets old real fast like skyrim. The first week you think it's one of the best games you ever played then after a week you feel like you're done with it.

Playing vs watching is totally different. If you have a pc, 360 or ps3 pick up Fallout 3 and be prepared to lose yourself. Or pick up Fallout New Vegas and play survival mode for a real treat!

A game where you can literally make people explode into a shower of blood and guts isn't childish haha. Open world, post apocalyptic rpg. Loooove me some rpg

Opinion based claims, but you had to have been there for Fallout 3, and New Vegas to understand, plus Bethesda has a reputation on delivering on their expectations. Fun fact: Prey 2 was cancelled by Bethesda because it didn't meet a certain criteria for quality.
