I have played Destiny since the Beta.
I pre-ordered the special, limited edition, Destiny PS4.
I made it to level 32...and a half....
I have participated in every PVP event at least once.
I even did the Vault of Glass.
Now, can I PLEASE play this (bleep)ing game without being forced to track down two more people to play it with?
SERIOUSLY?!
Is there ANY reason I need to track down two friend to play the Trials of Osiris?
Is there ANY REAL reason I should track down a couple of pals to play the Prison of Elders Challenges?
WHY MUST I PROVE I AM SOCIAL TO GET MY CHARACTER TO LEVEL 34?
Look, I HAVE FRIENDS!!! I DON'T NEED MORE AND I DAMN SURE DON'T NEED A GAME TO FORCE ME TO BE SOCIABLE!!
I am, by definition, a NERD!! I LIKE being anti-social!! IT'S WHAT I DO!!!!
If I wanted to meet people and make friends I would sell my PS4 and go outside!!!
You know, where people are, who talk to each other and have lives?
I understand BUNGIE, you wanted to make certain events harder to access so that those that complete them can feel more ELITE.
But we are passed that now. It is done. Those of you who reached 34 first, I salute you. You truly are the Guardians that the prophecies foretold.
Now, could you PLEASE just put matchmaking in Nightfall and the Prison of Elders Challenges?
You know, so us antisocial types can play the game WE PAID FOR?
Don't worry, those that make their own groups can still brag about being the best of the best of the best, (with honors).
And the rest of us can go on with our lives, not caring.

I always think it's funny when the basement dwellers on this site say "get some friends" That's a really skewed definition of friends, considering friends are an irl commodity not strangers behind screens and consoles.
-
I come from a background in WoW and remember when the best gear required a group of 40 players, all of the correct class and spec. So "assembling" a team of... two other players? Of any class? Pretty non-daunting to me. I think it's somewhat self-selecting. If you don't want to do group activities, then what do you even need the best gear for?
-
U only have one character.... U know u can solo poe 32 and get the armor core that's gonna bring you to level 34. P.s.I believe that there should be optional matchmaking

2 RepliesWhy would you buy an online only multiplayer game if you don't want to play with other people? I get that you don't WANT to look for other people, but that's what you do in online rpg's, always been that way, always will be. Tbh Idk how you've been playing since beta and still haven't found people to play with, I woulda quit by now if I didnt have friends on here

You are my hero. You are so damn correct it's flat out nuts. I am so baffled that a multiplayer console game requires me to find other players through a third party. I am also a nerd. I hate people. I hate talking to people. I hate listening to people. However I will team up with others to play an activity but there is this thing... It's called matchmaking. It's been in games for a while now... It's so damn annoying that I have to locate other players via non in game crap. Sometimes it works out other times it's a disaster and a WASTE OF TIME. I applaud you sir. I really do. Because I like this game and I want to play it but don't force me to make friends. I don't need anymore friends I need some MOTHERF***ING ETHERIC LIGHT. so please add some damn matchmaking.
-
I can atleast understand the trials idea.
-
-
I bet you're a hit at parties, go play checkers by yourself if that's how you feel.
-
Sure. Hope they address the issue.
-
Yep. Is annoying.
-
Either this is some great satire, or you need to get over it.
-
1 ReplyI guess you can solo PoE if you want...

Great MiB reference

This. I just want to relax and enjoy. And most of the time I DONT want to TALK to people I don't know. I just don't. That's why strikes are nice. I don't care about hard. I care about fun. Sometimes hard is fun. But not at the expense of fun itself. Dark Souls master here. Game is hard. Game is fun. Don't need help to beat bosses. Help is optional but appreciated sometimes. You literally CANNOT speak to helpers in Dark Souls. Bungie needs to focus on keeping their game fun at all costs. It isn't fun to be forced to be social. Ex Top tier server first WoW raider here. I know the glory of coordination among large groups. I know the fun of being in a guild. But there is no social space in Destiny! There is no gchat! How can you expect raid groups to be fun for everyone if you don't have a social space provided for players to meet? If you're going to go Borderlands 2 style then create dynamic difficulty. If you are going to go WoW MMO style then provide a meaningful social space. But you can't just say -blam!- you Destiny players go do this hard content that we won't matchmake nor provide a space to meet organically. That's just dirty. It's lazy. I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. I don't find it fun. I find it annoying. I find it stupid. And the worst part...I don't have any desire to do POE or Trials. That is not end game to me. End game means you work to get to a certain point to be able to beat the end. POE is both what you work in to gain levels AND what you work on beating as end game! Thad not how it works!!! You can't make POE both end game AND leveling content. It makes no sense! Plus there is no storyline to POE. Plus it's the same boring arenas with th same boring enemies from level 1!!!! There are no other enemies! The bosses are almost the same too! How is this interesting to people that have ANY experience with other top rated games? I dunno. Maybe I should just shut up and allow the horrible truth to wash over me. That I have to find a new game and give up my Legend. There is no more Atheon to imagine beating. No more Crota to master. It's just stupid Skolas. Some derpy fallen I could care less about. The same loser who I solo'd in the story mission after wiping out his entire clan. -blam!- ing yawn. Witcher 3 here I come. And yes you can have my stuff.
jk you can't trade in Destiny
4 RepliesEdited by Exitwounds79: 6/9/2015 11:08:36 PMBungie thinks their content is too hard for matchmaking I guess. Pretty sad when one player can solo a raid boss legit. Add the optional MM and be done with all this fluff Bumgie. Edit was to correct the "too" grammatical error. Inb4nazis

While i do have a group of friends i found that i play with every week , i remember how frustrating it was before i met them , so i agree optional matchmaking should happen so everyone can be happy

Edited by Un1337ninj4: 6/9/2015 10:33:45 PMYou know, you can start up a PoE match without mates right? Same with All of those other activities outside of the Trials and Vault of Glass. And guess what! Many do go through with these activities. Even if they are slower to get there than those assisted by comrades, hence is the nature of the world, if you get reliable assistance you will proceed in a very efficient manner as compared to being the one-man. Solo play will eventually yield 34.

5 RepliesNo. Git gud scrub

Get over it.

Optional matchmaking should be a thing. Just think running raids and nightfalls twice with each character. once with a pre-made group and then with a bunch of randoms.
-
2 RepliesThe only reason people don't want optional matchmaking is that it will allow everyone to play and probably beat endgame content. This would destroy the Snowflakes and their snowflakiness. The fact that they fight so hard against something that they don't ever have to use and won't even affect them unless they use it shows that it's just another case of special Snowflakes trying to stay Flakey.
-
Agreed. Bump
-
5 RepliesNo nightfall matchmaking no, its the only fun solo shit left.
-
2 RepliesTLDR: Op bought a game advertised for group play and expects to reach endgame solo No point saying anything else. If he couldn't figure it out on his own, nothing we say will make a difference.
