Above 2.0 kd players, does the thorn need a nerf?
You guys understand pvp. Does it need a nerf? Below 2.0 opinions will be discarded.
edit: please explain your opinion one way or the other. "Yes" is not an effective answer and will not sway any opinions.
Edit 2: I don't have a 2.0. That is why I'm asking for the opinions of my superiors. I'm asking better players with good reason. These guys understand traffic routes, map control, and are always landing headshots. They simply understand the game on a higher level than 98% of the player base and therefore I give their opinion more weight. I'm tired of seeing "NERF THORN" posts coming from some child with a 0.4. That kid can barely play the game, he knows nothing of it.
Edit 3: Here's my opinion, which should be discarded: if thorn gets nerfed tlw will be op. If tlw gets nerfed red death will be op. If red death gets nerfed someone might take a legendary primary into the crucible and exotics won't be exotics.

Statistically I'm a 2.0 but it should be higher for various reasons but no, my opinion is that Thorn is perfectly fine. I don't have any out of the ordinary issues countering it. Is it the weapon that kills me the most? Probably, but that's just because a lot of players use it. I mean if they were worthy of obtaining Thorn without being carried in PvP why shouldn't they use it? I used mine quite a lot when I got it but I have moved on to pulse rifles and Hawkmoon.

I don't think it is as simple as nerfing thorn I think a whole weapon rebalance for hand cannons and auto rifles is needed

4 RepliesNo (around a 1.8 kid dude) as a thorn user I am not siding with thorn because I have it. I think it shouldn't be needed but the only way you can get it is by the bounty which I think is well worth of the over powered gun since most people have trouble with the bounty

U don't have to have a 2 kd to be good. A lot of people are objective players and don't slay people. And also I sucked at crucible for awhile and now in control I usually have a kd that ranges from 1.5-3

I got a I think like 1.6 KD and never use thorn.. I think it's fine just lower the range a bit there are lots of ways to counter a thorn I may not have a 2.0kd but have been to the light house 9 times for rewards :)

Timurs lash which has almost double thorns impact only deals 95 to the head as opposed to thorns 120 (dot) Timurs lash final round deals 126 thorns final round deals 148. Let that sink in. Is thorn op yes but if they nerf it then it will become a terrible weapon. The only thing they could do is change the initial shot damage but if they change the burn then it will be shit!

I have a 2.6 kd and it needs a nerf mainly to range. Want proof? Since stupid bungie matches people based on "skill" instead of connection then i match with 2+kd people all day and u have played 126 straight games that thorn is being used by the other team. ZERO games without it.. over 75+% of people with 2+kd use tlw or thorn

I have a 2.0 control KD so i guess maybe i can say something?? I think thorn is grand, if it were to be nerfed it would have to be minimally, maybe reduce the number of ticks of damage it does or the damage it does per tick (say from 7 to 5) nothing massive like some people are suggesting

2 RepliesYeah. It's OP. 2 shots to the head from a high RoF hand cannon is over kill. Nothing to counter the burn effect. Plus you have the option of making it really stable , or effective at long ranges like a scout rifle (but better because no scout can kill in 2 shots). To fix it all you would need to do is lower the rate of fire. Making it like a Timur's Lash.
