This may not be the case with Destiny yet, but with many games the dlc is just being planned when they release, so they don't let you know that there will be more to come just incase there isn't any to come because the game flopped. So to berate them for not giving "the real cost" is a little far since they have to keep a nice veil of vagueness in everything to cover their ass if something should go wrong like the company goes belly up or the funding for the dlc falls thru
