Handcannons Breaking PvP
Thank you Xur for selling LAST WORD yet again to just drive home my point how much hand cannon spam is breaking the pvp experience of this game. And thank you Bungie for screwing weapon balance.
* Edit conclusion: So many salty TLW, Thorn & Hawkmoon scrubs complaining about my complaint. The assumption is that I am a child that is whining an see crying on forums and need to stop calling for nerfs. The fact is the kill feed I saturated with these exotics (note I have no complaints with legendary hand cannons). TLW massive fire rate massive damage (111) massive range yet its proponents declare it "takes skill". Thorn just saw a buff in 1.1.2 now with your screen showing even more green poision effects. And we all know how devastating Hawkmoon is. I speak the truth and the fact is these 3 weapons destroy every other weapon class and cannot be defeated by any auto or scout rifle and arguably trump any pulse. Please continue to speak on the forums of you want a game to play the way it should BALANCED GAMEPLAY NOT COD GAMEPLAY.

Nearly every primary is hand cannon since ammo nerf. Not only do they hold a lot of ammo but there isn't another primary that can outgun it if fired the same time at the same range of both Apart from when I use NLB and actually have snapshot on to aim before death

CoD game play is running around with assault rifles. Destiny has favored more towards hand cannons throughout the complaints held to bungie. Auto rifles are now useless in every scenerio, in PvP, and PvE. TLW is a PvP weapon, the best counter for it is shotgun since it is close range, also fusion rifle

Recently I'm using bad juju and vanquisher along with ldr sniper and deviant gravity...but when I get pissed off when people use tlw, thorn and hawkmoon.......I just take out my own handcannons and use them. I mean, everybody has it! If you see someone using it and it pisses you off, use the weapon yourself! No use complaining about it.

Your breaking the crucible. Personally I think the burn before the patch was more debilitating.

If I can beat all three of those weapons in close quarters combat with Atheon's Epilogue, then overall it's not a big deal having them in the game. I'm not a good PvP player and I held my own against all these 'OP' weapons everyone complains about. Just play hard, learn your routes and flank. Or just be the better shot.

The complaints on this forum know no end. Every other forum post is a complaint. This guy got a gally and I didn't...Goliathon is stupid....this gun is overpowered and it kills me and I hate it....this gun is underpowered and it kills me....the crapper in the tower is clogged....Ikora Rey stood me up. ect ect Can people go ONE day without complaining on here? (don't answer, I already know the answer is no)

I understand what you are saying. But if you are quick enough with MIDA in certain maps you can get the hand cannon jerk offs. Now I'm not gonna lie, I have been using TLW for a while now. And as the story with shotgun whores goes, if you can't beat em - JOIN THEM.

MIDA multi-tool, red death, bad juju, three little words, satrienne rapier, B-line trauma, Badger CCL, Another NITC, Invective, universal remote, vex mythoclast, Plan C or if you want Pocket infinity. All these weapons are viable options in crucible. Lol @ you thinking there is a lack of variety. If they buffed auto rifles again that list would be huge. Don't blame the HC users that were always there, blame bungie for not realizing that SUROS was the gun that kept the others in check. Wanna get up close with TLW? Not on SUROS' watch. Hide in back with thorn? I don't think so. SUROS would ice you before you shot twice with Hawkmoon. Bring back the regime and the proper order will be brought back.

2 RepliesI think if he sells Hawkmoon the crucible would be frustrating. That's a hard gun to deal with. I dont even know the stats because i dont have it but even if i did i doubt i could wreck with it. Its high skilled users beating you to the punch. Maybe being in the fray doesn't suit your play style. Try perimeter play and zone protection. You don't need 20 kills to help your team, cap a zone and hold it down and protect your teams heavy ammo. That's how i play. I still get wrecked but definitely not by TLW. Its rare to see someone skilled with TLW. Its definitely not a scrub gun. Vex seems like the only "unfair" gun. It just melts you.

You complain about hand cannons, yet you use an auto rifle with crap impact. You are being outgunned by anything that has more impact. I know as I tried using hardlight in a match once. I said screw it and went back to TLW. I also finally see why so many like the vex in the crucible. I just got all of its perks and got 19 kills, 4 assists, and 3 deaths in my last clash match. That weapon lets you scrub it up more than thorn, and I was going against a team with 3 thorn users.

4 RepliesMida multi tool can easily outgun any weapon in the game, same as red death. Thorn users very rarely kill me, same with TLW, when im using my multi tool.

While I have avoided destiny pvp like the plague basically since release I have always though handcannons... Break certain balance in primary weapons and well I can't see there ever being a decent balance between primaries. We have auto rifles which currently are weak tickle devices Scout rifles which are decent at extreme ranges, said ranges dont exist in most of the game modes however Pulse rifles which deliver a good punch in bursts And handcannons which can easily outgun everything at close-mid range and have the strongest aim assist. Either way I don't care what they do but you'll find people become reliant on how the crucible is basically built for handcannons, then refuse to accept there might be issues surrounding their balancing.

7 RepliesHandcannons are not easy to use IMO. Slow rate of fire (except for TLW) limited range and small mag size. The reason why top players use it is because it rewards skill, not because it's a crutch. I personally suck with them, I hate how the recoil blocks follow up shots but I can respect those that do well with them.

1, I often get recked by pulse/scout/auto rifles from distance so tlw's range is not that great. 2, bungie have already nerfed autos, vex, fusions, shotguns and special ammo. There has to be a cut off point somewhere. 3, most hand cannons (at least the high powered ones have very small magazines and long reload times. Add the poor range and I believe this evens things up. If you reduce the rate of fire, impact or magazine size then there'll be one more gun type that isn't used and people will complain about whatever people pick instead. I agree with the nerfing of special ammo as insta kills are no fun but I don't begrudge people using shotguns or snipers, I didn't mind when everyone used suros and autos. As long as you have a fighting chance then fine with it

My man, this was the 3rd time Xur has sold TLW....it's ok, it will pass. It's only really effective close range, and you actually have to aim and control recoil to stay on target. It's a 4 body shot kill, 3 headshot kill. Hitting 3 headshots isn't as easy as it sounds with its recoil. I routinely kill ppl with 4 shots including an ads headshot. It's only a 2 shot kill from the hip and is extremely hard to do consistently. There are many other guns that kill just as quick.
