Handcannons Breaking PvP
Thank you Xur for selling LAST WORD yet again to just drive home my point how much hand cannon spam is breaking the pvp experience of this game. And thank you Bungie for screwing weapon balance.
* Edit conclusion: So many salty TLW, Thorn & Hawkmoon scrubs complaining about my complaint. The assumption is that I am a child that is whining an see crying on forums and need to stop calling for nerfs. The fact is the kill feed I saturated with these exotics (note I have no complaints with legendary hand cannons). TLW massive fire rate massive damage (111) massive range yet its proponents declare it "takes skill". Thorn just saw a buff in 1.1.2 now with your screen showing even more green poision effects. And we all know how devastating Hawkmoon is. I speak the truth and the fact is these 3 weapons destroy every other weapon class and cannot be defeated by any auto or scout rifle and arguably trump any pulse. Please continue to speak on the forums of you want a game to play the way it should BALANCED GAMEPLAY NOT COD GAMEPLAY.

I agree. The people hating on you are the ones who abuse the gun and stand to lose the most when (not if) it gets nerfed. They don't really understand game balance all that well. They remind me of the people from the Halo: Reach forum who would scream "adapt" at others who complained (legitimately) that Armor Lock was a broken ability (because it was). Because we should "adapt" to broken game mechanics. If they're telling you to "get gud" and "adapt", then they obviously shouldn't have any problem adapting to a nerf. I wonder why they're so hostile at the sight of threads like these then...

You are probably that one and only guy who still uses auto rifles and fusion rifles in pvp.... Instead of crying like a little bitch for nerfs, why dont you ask for buffs to the auto rifles? If they were to nerf HCs right now, next week youd probably be bitching about pulse rifles...then if they nerfed pulse rifles, youd be bitching about ARs or scout rifles...then what? Do you want bungie to just get rid of all guns in the crucible? Then we can all just melee and then you would bitch about warlock or hunter melees... Balancing is not all about nerfing everything that kills dumbass players...buffing another wep archetype can also provide balance. TLDR: less QQ more PEW PEW

I'll still out gun you...because of skill......yes the gun takes skill and if you don't think it does give it to a person who's been playing for a month, and give somebody who's been playing for 6 a rare AR. Guess who's probably gonna will. The person with more skill and experience. The gun takes skill to use just like any other. Your an idiot for saying otherwise

You're singling out exotic handcannons. However, if you compare them to the other primary exotics, the handcannons aren't that OP: Red death can 2 burst kill & heals. Nuff said Mida if you're a headshot machine, it kills as quick as any other gun Vex is still viable after so many nerfs. I've seen many guardians destroy with it. Personally, I don't like it. The stability is an issue I can't overcome. Suros has been nerfed 3x & it's still ok - not good, but not awful Monte Carlo is ok, but difficult to compete with these other weapons unless you melee a lot. Universal Remote is a great weapon for cqc, especially since 1.1.2. Highest range among shotguns once namesake perk is unlocked Necro... NLB... It seems to be a numbers issue imo. There are 11 exotic primaries. 3-4 cannot compete with the rest. So, 3/8 are handcannons. Of course you're going to see more exotic handcannons in a given match. Hopefully, HOW brings some new exotic primaries that are not handcannons.

Like you said, if you're good with every other gun, use whatever you want. Exactly that. I can use Anything and do fine. I just prefer the OP weapons.

1 ReplyIt's not that hand cannons are over powered, it's that their counters are gone, Auto rifles used to be the close/mid range equalizers, they stopped hand cannons and a lot of shotgun running, but now that no one uses them your only options are trying to counter with like weapons (weapons that have a similar ROF/DMG, pulse, scout, or other hand cannons) this makes them seem more powerful than they really are.

Handcannon's aren't the problem map design is the problem why can't people get that through their head. Everyone keeps complaining about every type of weapon till it gets nerfed and then were gonna have another Call of Duty on our hands. And I assure you if this game ever start's to play like call of duty you can bet your ass half of the pvp community will be outta here.

1 ReplyOf course the Thorn is op but hawkmoon and last word aren't. It really does take skill to use hawkmoon but not so much for last word. The fact is that if u miss 1 or 2 shots with the last word then you will surely die in a gun fight. Another bad thing about last word is the reload. It only really allows you to kill one person then you'd have to get to cover and wait about 3 seconds before you can kill anyone else. During that time you'd better hope to God no one rushes you. On the other hand I don't know too much about hawkmoon. I used it a couple times in Crucible but didn't like it. I had trouble adjusting to the stability and was killed way too often so I stopped using it. I agree that thron is op but last word and hawkmoon really aren't.

These posts about "this gun is breaking PvP" is based only on the fact that: -they don't have the gun -they killed by the gun because they can't protect themselves Also, why are you complaining about hand cannons running PvP when you yourself use arguably one if the best hand cannons in the game?

3 RepliesAnyone notice the high frequency of Hand Cannon Crucible Bounties lately? I think Bungie has done this Hand Cannon thing on purpose...there are no Crucible Bounties for any other weapon except Sniper headshots...though Iron Banner may roll out the Auto Rifle headshot bounties again...

This is the same sorta thing that happened the last time xur sold TLW a few months ago. Everyone rages lol Happened when he sold red death and it was everywhere in crucible. It's a cycle. They need to rebuff autos though and then things will be balanced again
