Good God buff the bubble
If you've played any pvp as a defender titan I legitimately feel sorry for you. Not only do you have the worst melee and the worst grenades (ok maybe the sticky isn't competently awful) but the bubble is just useless.
The bubble can be trumped by every other super. This invincible fortress is more so a slight inconvenience to most guardians.
Arc blade should have to use 80% of his super to destroy the bubble.
Only teammates should be able to freely walk into the bubble. Enemies should bounce off of it and take damage (think tripmine lasers on the sepiks mission but it won't immediately kill you).
A titan running armor of light should be left alive after a nova bomb.
I think golden gun should take all three shots to remove the bubble.
Sunsingers would be effected by not being able to freely walk through so that's fine. They'd have to destroy the bubble first.
Fist of havoc should simply destroy the bubble there by leaving both parties without a super. This only applies if armor if light is on of course.
This would put the bubble in the defensive spot it deserves. It can withstand any super and leave both parties superless.
Please post a better buff idea below if you have one. I did just wake up.
Edit: I'm loving all the people who are saying no with no counter argument to back it up. Do you even have a titan?
Edit 2: Wow you guys are split right down the middle on this. I think a realistic buff suggestion would be to allow friendlies to shoot out of the bubble. Yeah?
Edit 3: to everyone telling me I'm just a shitty defender go ahead and look at my titan's kd.

Hell no, if anything that Titan Bubble is OP and and needs to be nerfed, it sure as hell doesn't need to be buffed (not actually saying it should be nerfed, but it shouldn't be buffed either, and if anything it should be nerfed). Of course it's entirely situational and it's mainly useful in PvP in Control by being set up on objective markers, and any team that does this which knows what they're doing is a force to be reckoned with (especially if they have that blinding helmet equipped with Armor of Light, in which case supering the bubble or waiting him out are the he only ways it can possibly be dealt with). Personally I think the supers are all perfect as they are (especially since they nerfed the DR on all supers), every one of them feels slightly OP without being too OP and that's as it should be so nothing needs to be changed.

Why would anyone run defender on PVP anyways? Only good it does it helps capture zones.

DEFENDER WAS NOT BUILT FOR PVP!!!!!!! defender is a PVE class and its perks reflect it i main a hunter an it takes two out of my three shots to destroy your bubble, whats worse is when you have a couple of your buddies in there with you and i have to choose who to shoot with my last shot people who abuse the bubble by spawning it on flags are doing this because it saves the effort of capturing it without protection and to people like this i become furious because you tend to dance in them with a smug attitude because most of the time people cant do anything about them unless they have their super ready the titan bubble is designed to repel projectiles not people or enemies its like a spider web lure the enemy into the net to take them down the spike grenade would work better if it spiked out like a star and stuck to enemies like the one from halo blade dancers are the easiest type of super to kill but due to lag people overwrite this with hunter are op wahhhhhh, its not hunters its not arc blade it bungies laggy servers

1 ReplyIt's not meant for PVP. It is very viable in PVP though, if you know what you're doing. Defender class has a perk that reduces the cool down time for the bubble. This means you can have a crazy amount of bubbles in one game, so the bubbles dexterity is not as important.

It takes the most skill to play as defender Titan. I'm very good at PVP. Although I would say striker melee is worse everything else about the defender requires mad strategy.

4 RepliesWhile I would of course enjoy a buff, I don't think we need it. When I play as a warlock I always feel like I'm playing on easy mode, so when I destroy a team as my titan it's that much more of an accomplishment to me. This isn't my video but he's THE example of how to overcome the lethality of other supers.

Defender is suppport class, use blessing of light or weapons of light, to give team mates the upper hand.

I actually like your ideas, but I'm good with my bubble as-is. Everything should have a counter, and if the Bubble got too OP (as I think this would make it), then it would just be hated on worse. I'm good on that. When a Hunter blades through, he deserves to kill me. When a Warlock purposefully dies in the bubble to rez and get me, I deserved that for not paying attention. All good in the hood.

I was using a lvl 10 titan and used the bubble thing on a capture point on control and lvl 30s just stood there as I captured it .... It was strange to see [spoiler]It was the first time I used the defender titan in PvP [/spoiler]

I disagree. The bubble is a deterrent for the enemy. Don't hang out in the bubble, thats asking to be super'ed. As far as grenades. Suppression grenades rule. They will take someone out of their super. The best is against a blade dancer rushing you. Grenade, punch! And they still don't know why their super just "stoped".

Use of supers to cancel out a bubble has always felt like a simple game of Rock Paper Scissors for me. If a bubble is up and no one on opposing team has a super to counter. It feels as it lasts for days. If you do use a super then you're practically canceling each other supers out. A nova bomb doesn't kill anyone if launched from the outside unless it's vortex nova bomb. It will however kills Everyone if launched within obviously. A warlock running straight within a bubble is like a titan running straight to a control point - either way, their very likely to use their super against you.

Titan bubble is insanely op, as unless you have another super to take it down, the titan in that bubble is 99% invincible with the right perk loadout. To take out a titan that knows how to use a bubble, you need at least 3 people blasting him with shotties, throwing nades and meleeing him inside the bubble to take him out. Its absolutely ridiculous. If anything, it needs a massive Nerf in PvP.

Yes please buff the bubble. To be halfway relevant you have to run Saint-14 and play Control. Gone are the days were people would just mindlessly rush your bubble (without even having a shotgun). I don't know about the other classes, but as a striker I see a bubble and think "Cha-Ching."

No.. The bubble is fine how it is. I love running defender in crucible. Don't use your bubble if you see the other team about to use their super. Arc blade only kills me 20% of the time because I use armor a lot so I just shotgun them and melee quick and they're dead. Golden is okay against it but I let them take 2 shots at it and jump out as the 2nd hits so they generate more orbs for my team and uses almost his entire super on a bubble. The only real threat to it is Titan FoH and nova bomb. And that's fine with me

Yeah supers are all weak to one another cept bubble. Bubble loses against everything. Except maybe sunsinger occasionally
