I want some kind of official opinion on this kind of practice. I am currently doing the exotic bounty for Bad Juju on the off chance that when it is buffed it becomes a good gun. So of course I have been doing the complete 25 strikes part of it.
I have done 7 in a row so far and 6 of those 7 some guy runs past every single enemy that he can and waits at the next checkpoint while the other guy and me are stuck killing everything along the way. I have no problem killing everything. At this point the level 24 adds are like tissue paper. What gets me is the fact that the idiots running ahead are not actually taking part in the strike that they themselves queued for. They are simply sprinting past everything and avoiding any real gameplay unless they have no choice.
Why should other people or myself have to carry these guys through the strike simply because they are too lazy and impatient to actually do their part? You have stated on many occasions that thi sis meant to be a team game and yet these people are in no way taking part in the team strike unless they positively have to. One of the guys that ran ahead finished with 8 kills. Meanwhile I finished with over 100 kills. Then on the boss fight the guy simply went afk and made the random I was with and myself finish off Phogoth on our own. Once again its not a question of difficulty its a question of principle. I queue for strikes because I enjoy playing the game as well as earning all the rewards that come along with it. I don't want to have to carry people who don't even participate in the strike itself.
Why should this guy get all of the marks, rep, and rewards at the end when he in no way took part in the strike itself?
You guys HAVE to know that this is going on. Either make it to where people can be kicked or make it to where you have to wipe the entire strike before it can be completed.
I am done helping the people that do this. I will either leave and let them finish it themselves or do my best to make sure the strike takes as long as possible. I am not gonna go out of my way to avoid playing the game that I paid for. I get running past low level adds that are in transition areas, but running past enemies that are leveled to the strike itself is just lazy.

Not helping kill the boss is wrong and he shoulda helped, but why would you stop to kill adds? The only reason I do Tiger Strikes is to get the two blue engrams at the end to level my cryptarch. Also the random reward is at the end. Already got one exotic (MIDA) at the end of a strike speed running it.

10 RepliesDon't like it, either way when you skip enemies you might skip engrams and experience from the enemies. You don't get anything for killing the boss anyway, and the only reward at the end of the strike is marks, witch are much better to farm for in public events.
-
People actually stop to kill enemies on strikes? Every time I join everyone always speed runs the strike. I don't know why I would ever want to stop to kill useless enemies. If anyone is not doing the strike right it's you OP, stop holding back better players.
-
1 ReplyThe most annoying thing is when people run ahead and purposely die so the whole team teleports forward. There are definitely two play styles that are developing. I prefer to kill everything because each kill is a potential legendary or I need those drops for upgrade material, since loot cave is gone. I would rather not play with those that run ahead. A better match making system would be optimal however that's not happening, so would a kick system but I doubt that's happening either.
-
With the exception of AFKers, everyone I see (myself included) bolts through as much as possible. It's easy for all 3 people to do this as well, so you should never be stuck behind.
-
You say carrying like you're helping, these guys obviously don't want to shoot every non essential enemy do whatever reason (on a time limit, bounty, farming marks, engrams, etc) I'm one of them, every second wasted in the strike playlist is a second I waste doing something else on my agenda. Want me to give a ___ about teamwork? Release VoIP for fire teams then.
-
How about Bungie fixes this with a teleport system? If your too far away from the rest of the group you get teleported to the rest of the fireteam.
-
Running past non essential enemies cuts your time down, considering u have to do 25 strike u should do it more often.

9 RepliesPersonally it really annoys me when people just run ahead like that, especially when they skip and entire group of enemies, if we're all running past them that's different, and also when people ride their sparrows throw the buildings on the way to strikes, really pisses me off, like get off that -blam!-ing this this is where you walk they didn't take the time to add ambient detail in those parts for you to scooter on through.

Edited by BiffMalibou: 11/9/2014 9:02:24 PMThe strikes don't reward you much and there is no point wasting time killing everything. Only beginners do that. You play the areas you have to and get on with it. Loot hunting and leveling up you can do on your own just fine. Your playing like a noob and once you've done these strikes 15 times each you'll be killing off bosses wondering what on gods green earth that one players doing mucking about wasting everyone's time. Its not a problem but we are not the ones you should worry about.

I am pretty sure he is not bothered either way.

2 RepliesEdited by o______________o: 11/9/2014 7:22:17 PMSorry for the late reply. There is absolutely nothing wrong with eagerness to complete a strike mission. In fact we encourage our players to earn those bounties as fast as they can. If you want to harvest bounties from the mobs, gather two other friends and shoot to your heart's content. Edit: whoops! Wrong account. Jib Jub Bappity Flap!

You are the one holding back the team going slow and killing everything, people like you are the ones I would like to remove from the party. Kill what you need to and run past everything else we have done the strike 1000 times and if we wanted to kill trash mobs we wouldn't be in the strike to begin with. Please do leave I kill much faster without you in the game then with you if I could que solo I would.
-
Why should I have to wait for you to kill things? We could easily breeze through every non darkness zone, fight through darkness zones as a team, and complete the strike much faster. Especially from someone doing the Juju bounty, why would you want to drag that out further? I mean, if you're talking about afk'ers that's one thing. But I can speed ahead and still get plenty of kills, I'm not just standing there waiting for you to catch up, I'm still pressing ahead. So your own argument can be used against you. There is no good answer. Get a fireteam of like minded players to run the playlist with?
-
pick up the pace then?

Edited by Twisted: 11/9/2014 8:04:16 PMIts being taken care of read the newsletter and facebook posts they mentioned this already speed runners are gonna hit a wall with a patch theyre making

2 RepliesI agree something should be implemented like a team vote system you can call on to boot a player using majority vote. Then hope some other random joins later to fill your team. Another thing bungie should work on is the lack of in game team chat via mics. Which would help assuming everyone had mic but again you'd be able to fall back to the booting feature if otherwise. Bungie can add, though it goes against their concept of a team oriented game, is solo strikes with no matchmaking. Then those who like to do strikes their own way can do so without hinderance of/to a team. In all bungie has some fixing to do. Gamers need to understand we're complaining to/about other gamers. So if you have your own way of thinking/doing/etc expect others to have theirs and stop complaining about them.

1 ReplyWhy waste time on trash that can be avoided?
-
1 ReplyI stopped reading after you said "Some people run past mobs, THEN WE HAVE TO STAY AND KILL THEM" TrolololLOLOLOLOL! Why don't you run past the mobs? Otherwise get some friends and do strikes together.
-
1 ReplyThis post is dumb. You can do patrol if you want to dick around. Do the strike. Finish the strike. Why are you even here?
-
There should be a kill counter to get the rewards at the end, something like 50+ kills to get rewards.
-
That shit drives me nuts too. Everybody that runs straight through is probably guilty of complaining about the drop rate and not enough purple orbs... Well, kill shit and that will increase the drop rate. Pretty simple really. Don't listen to these other idiots who rush through that tell you to get in a group of friends. When in fact it should be them who does. Not the ones who like to play the game as it was intended.

7 RepliesIf a team can kick anyone by vote, that will add another problem, like players that know each other voting to kick someone only because they can. It happens in the first battlefield on PC, if you pick up a tank or a helicopter a clan member want, they simply open vote to kick you. Or in diablo 3 when someone kick you just before a boss die. That is really annoying! I have hard times with the reward system in this game, and i want to do strikes faster as i can. So i run like Forrest Gump. If you think this is an issue, why don't you just invite two friends to do strikes together? Sorry my pour english.
-
I just run past the meaningless enemies and immediately work on the actual bosses.... At lvl 30 I've done these strikes literally hundreds of times and I would rather spend 10 minutes bursting through the nexus than 25 killing everything (which still makes 0 difference at the end of the strike)

I pretty much agree that how people choose to approach the strike it's up to them. But with that said my personal preference is to use a weapon I'm trying to level up and use my time in that strike to kill everything I can since I'm there. I have also had numerous purple engrams drop from AIs prior to the darkness zones in strikes. I play this game to shoot $h1t, and where ever I am, whichever mode, there is my chance to get my fix. So yeah I'm plus one for taking it all in rather than racing to the darkness!
