Bungie, we need to have a serious talk. I’ve been playing since D1, so I feel qualified to say this: you’re slowly killing this game by driving players away. The story quests are bad, the Guardian Games are bad, this season is bad, the last five seasons have been bad. I’m trying my hardest to enjoy it because I love this game, this series, the universe you guys have been building. It hurts when I try to bring in new players because all this fun shooter action is buried by the endless monotony of meaningless quests that are the means to an unsatisfying end. I’m tired of the story that I love to experience is being walled off by boring and repetitive tasks. I’m tired of the artificial difficulty that is just giving normal enemies bigger health pools and throwing wave after wave of them at you.
I love Destiny. I’ve tried to defend this series from every angle, but I’m at the point where the walls are closing in and I can’t keep defending the means by which you’re trying to keep people engaged. Forcing people to grind for real life days under the threat of FOMO isn’t gonna bring old players back and with almost certainly drive new players away. If you really want to hook people you need to give them something to bite into, and it’s hard to bite and enjoy undercooked, unseasoned meat. That’s what Destiny 2 has become: flavorless meat.
I miss campaigns. Can we just get one of those next season? A traditional, Halo-style campaign. No dumb kill x amount of a random enemy class on such and such planet, no do this many public events, none of that. Load me into a mission, let me rum through the level, and let me enjoy the amazing shooter mechanics that I fell in love with. Please. This strategy isn’t a good one for the long term health of the game. There’s a reason players are returning to D1. I wish I still had my copy of D1 to return to. Please fix the problem that is your 10 year plan to milk your players for time and money.
tl;dr: Give us something to enjoy, not something to do. It’s a game, not a job. We play to have fun, not to slave away.

Bruh that hits different: “Hard to bring friends into the game I love because they are immediately drowned in meaningless quests and monotonous is bounties and activities without true direction.” I be feeling this.

5 RepliesYou have clearly been confused about destiny from day 1. The story was better in 1 but from the first expansion on it's been less and less. This is a mass multiplayer game designed around playing different events with other people. If you want a single player game, find one because Destiny isn't what you're looking for.

3 RepliesI love it when you guys open with "we need to have a serious talk". Lol Bungie doesn't give a shit what you think and neither does anybody else. Since you're trying to be so serious about a video game, just quit.
