The community cannot complete the Seraph towers meaning we cannot progress.
Edit: Thank you.

14 RepliesEdited by Auronio: 5/13/2020 10:54:16 AMThe question is - what will come after this quest step. Or do we believe we are done with 9m Seraph Tower Guardian completions? Step 2: 15m shotgun kills in Crucible. Step 3: 21m Raid boss kills with shotguns. Only Legend of Acrius / 4th Horseman / Lord of Wolves / Chaperone allowed/counted. ... Don't get me wrong, I love to support you all, but this week Ironbanner pinnacle rewards are way more important for me than Seraph Towers. A bit selfish, I know. Have fun. And stay healthy!

I actually like the concept of this community challenge step on paper, however, there are a few clear issues with it: 1. The newer version of the public event requires MUCH more coordination, to the point where you need a preformed fireteam of at least 3 people. As an example, you actually had streamers failing the event with a full fireteam until they completely modded out their loadout. 2. Destiny 2 matchmaking in public spaces is horrible, most of the time, you only find 2-3 people in the public space if you find anyone at all. 3. There is no requirement for individual participation leading to most players not wanting to participate at all. 4. There are no additional rewards providing even less incentive. 5. Seraph tower events in general are pretty poor quality and not enjoyable when played repeatedly. I would have made the following changes for the community challenge: 1. I would have released it on 4/21 alongside Guardian Games and included a daily Gold Medal for completing Seraph Tower events. This would be on a daily rotation between the 3 locations. 2. I would have added a Triumph required for the Almighty title that required one Heroic Seraph Tower completion on each destination. 3. Flawless runs of the event would award additional rewards and event progress, incentivizing players to go for the Hardcoded Victory Triumph. 4. Additional loot from the final chest including the option to choose the weapon you want to obtain similar to the Sundial. 5. I would have added an option for Legendary Lost Sector completions to help progress as well, providing an alternate option for those who don't want to do the Seraph Tower events. 6. I would update the quest step for Shotgun kills to begin this week with Iron Banner and award even more progress for Iron Banner shotgun kills. Another thing to bring up, Bungie is known for tracking metrics within the game pretty well, how in the world did they miss the mark by so much? Given the recent focus on game improvements in the TWAB over the past few weeks, in hindsight, it probably would have been better to cut this first step of the quest, or at least change it to not be a community event, this comes across as incredibly tone deaf.

1 ReplyIm sure Bungie will make up the numbers in a few days trying to make people think that people are actually doing this event lol
-
2 RepliesHow does Bungie get it so wrong, so often? This just goes back to my theory that the people at Bungie that make these kind of decisions don't actually play the game.

1 ReplyEdited by TheHero: 5/13/2020 11:00:56 AMTheres only one Lucas who was Great, his Name is George. The Last 2 Years saw only 2 things in the right direction of Content. A New Gamemode as in Gambit Prime, which is a very good one despite ppl hating it. And the first step to better itemization as in Armor 2.0 Everything else especially the great need of bungie to hold on to playerbase is the FOMO/Repetetive/bounty based Gamecontent. My best ASsuming Guess: They do it to please the Moneyproviders like Stackholder type of people. So this Cow can be milked over and over again. My Feeelings toward a Great Gamesettting with bad content is that i am very dissapointed by Bungie and esp. about the Guys who are breaking their heads to bring us such meaningless content. "Do not think please, you probably hurt yourself" = Bad Content is bringing Destiny Down, therefore less money --> = unemployment in the worst.

This thread has reached the magic number. C'mon Bungie. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/239154915153281024/710168246753427516/unknown.png

Its impossible!!!!! logged in twice and there was no one even at the towers. Even when I waited only three to four more playtes showed up and we failed it three times because half the noobs don't even know what to do. there is no way to get it done this season. Its one thing if you get credit for not completting it but you have to finish it in order to even get a percentage. Im still at five percent. NO WAY!!!!!

3 RepliesEdited by WoofinAintEazy: 5/12/2020 5:49:43 PMSucks it’s tower events, but at least it is counting it by guardian completions instead of total event completions. So if 6 guardians do 1 event, it will count as 6 for the community. Still, tower event is not the best lol. This community event should also help some of those who need that Almighty title. More opportunities than last week and the week before!

4 RepliesEdited by tau-lepton: 5/13/2020 3:16:14 PMThey have leaked textures of a destroyed tower. With this quest, they can blame it on the player community. Lunch break. Went to EDZ to try a tower event. Got to 60ish percent but it was a fail. In a couple of dozen of tries,I have only two successes.
-
2 RepliesWhy? It makes sense to play a 9 man activity, in a 3 man fireteam, in a public space, where's it's unlikely to meet up with randoms capable of beating it for an IRON BANNER WEAPON???
-
Boy At first I didn’t think it would be this BAD Have done 6 or more towers this morning and never completed ANY. Forget Io NO ONE IS THERE! Spent most of my time trying to finish catalyst for Vow and following the robot twins around
-
If people think us pvp lovers will rush to do this event for another shotgun ,I wouldn't keep hopes up. I am in no rush to get another shotgun when I have God roll astral and mindbenders, both of which I don't use LMAO. Fusions > shotguns.
-
Ummmm..... Wat‽ You realize there are people with the almighty title, right? That means that not only are people completing it, but are doing so flawlessly. I don't have the title, but I did complete the event successfully 5 times last night. With a few blueberries I loaded in with, so no communication or coordination. Tldr; get gud

The fact that I have nothing to do today, and there is a new D2 quest, but I cant really do the quest...is....upsetting..... :(

It says public events. But with that being said, I just want to point out that while the whole " elaborate puzzle for bastion" was interesting, the community has already voices their opinion time and time again. We are burned out with bounty grinding as it is. Bungies has acknowledged this. Then we go right into a grind yet again with a community focus centered around a ridiculous percentage that nobody feels is appropriate. My clan mates all basically said F that and a vast majority of them don't care to " grind more". I'm betting they will adjust or fudge the percentage numbers eventually do to another joke of a community event that most people I've spoken with could care less about. I bet I could do one public event and still have the same outcome.
-
3 RepliesThis is total trash. Grind Public events??? WTF?!?! So AGAIN no new content, just redo the same shit we have been doing for months. This is total BS. They couldn't even animate Ana, it was text only! I can't...this game actually used to be good. Now it is just a nickel and dime grind. Screw this.
-
Just like trials... I'll pass.
-
1 ReplyThis quest kinda reminds me of Kyle and Stan playing Guitar Hero on South Park...remember what happened when they won?
-
5 RepliesEdited by BaconLettuceMeta: 5/13/2020 7:07:56 AMGood. Felwinters Apegun should be kept out the game. We already have too much ape meta in D2. Also, Streamers don't want to grind it but they sure as hell will want to make mulah out of it. PS. Does anyone believe that EDZ tower has been completed 80,000 times (3%) already ?
-
2 RepliesEdited by Wayne712: 5/13/2020 1:37:51 PMPersonally, I think this is a poorly thought out quest step, particularly given the overwhelmingly negative feedback on Seraph towers to begin with. I don’t care if it gets completed or not, and I won’t be doing the events, but if Bungie want to have a chance to sell some of these Felwinter ornaments, they might want to do something to progress this step quicker.
-
1 ReplyLet's all NOT do this event. Let the allmighty crash into eververse! Let's call Bungies bluff.
-
Thing is, Bungie will release it no matter what because you know they want to sell the ornament for it in Eververse. The quest is just a trick to make people play trash content. If you don’t believe that then make a stand and call their bluff. Boycott this crap and let’s see if they actually withhold it.
-
I did 4 failed tower attempts in a row with randoms. If want that much frustration, I'll play iron lagger. No, that's it for me.
-
3 RepliesDo only Seraph Towers count towards the total ?
