To ANYONE Struggling With Masterwork Cores, Please Read!
[b]STOP SPENDING SHARDS ON SPIDERS MASTERWORK CORES[/b].
On days like today, you want to buy Simulation Seeds from Spider. Buy 100-200 Shards worth, which is 500-1000 Seeds, or 10-20 packages at a time.
[b][u]The reason for using Simulation Seeds is because the shaders from leveling Vance dismantle into Shards, unlike the other vendors. Ive heard Mars does the same thing but haven't tried on Mars.[/u][/b]
Trade them all to Brother Vance on Mercury and break down everything, even the shaders. Among a few cores per run, you will get all of your shards back, give or take a couple each time. Rinse and Repeat until satisfied.
[u]Starting with only 225 Shards, Ive gotten 90 Cores today in 4 ish hours. And I still have 72 Shards left. So basically, 153 shards turned into 90 cores. That would have only bought you 4 through Spider in one day.[/u]
Its tedious, and not particularly quick, but better than 3 cores a day for 70 shards. This is NOT a cheese or glitch, but rather taking advantage of the material economy that Bungie gave to us..
INB4 People come in saying some youtuber posted this already, not everyone watches youtube, so Im spreading the word in Text here on these forums. Help each other.

[spoiler]This is still an RNG based farm. Know that some of you will see better returns than others. I got very lucky and had a few packages that even dropped double masterworked drops. Also note that masterworked gear can drop 1-3 cores each, so some of you will get 1 while others will get 3. I recommended using small amounts like 100-200 shards at a time so you can test your luck rather than dumping 1000+ and seeing terrible returns. This method is the very definition of Gambling. Someone in the comments averaged out at 12 shards per core, as to where someone else claimed they averaged 70 shards per core. Person 1 got a good deal, person 2 not so much. Again, it's RNG.[/spoiler]

Try wearing your incomplete solstice legendary helmet and then running the nightfall. Do not masterwork the helmet. Rinse then repeat......have not tried myself but a friend told me he got 5 cores per run.

1 ReplyThis is good advice, I've been doing for awhile now. You are able to get all the cores you need imo. However it is mind numbingly boring and can strain your thumb pressing hundreds of times and holding. I do t have too much of an issue, but a few clan mates just couldn't deal with the tedium involved. Plus you do need a shard cushion.

You know I preferred playing Destiny over Warframe because of how long it took to get the stuff you wanted but now Destiny 2 feels like it takes more time to get those materials you need.

You will also get some mod components as well which come in handy. I've been doing a 1k material run every so often and got a nice stash of cores. Anything more than the 1k gets super boring though for me.

I have been running this on different vendors - and its pure RNG how many cores or mods you get - but this is the only way to "farm" cores and mods.
