Yes this is about timed exclusives.
I'm sure that I'm not alone when I say that I bought an xbox because of the killer ap that was Halo, have been a fan of Bungie ever since. Also became a fan of Xbox for the same reason. I stopped playing Destiny once the full measure and impact of timed exclusives became apparent. I don't even really care about a few exotics here and there, but withholding strikes or other mission content for a year or longer is a deal breaker for me.
I won't be buying Destiny 2 if the timed exclusive deal is similar to Destiny. I urge you to reconsider punishing xbox fans that you created.

1 Reply1. Bungie offered the exclusivity deal to Microsoft first. Microsoft declined. Bungie then offered the deal to Sony. Sony accepted. 2. The content that Xbox is waiting on still has always been intended to be released on Xbox, and was tied in to the release of Destiny 2. When Destiny 2's release was delayed, the release of this content was also delayed as a domino effect. 3. While I haven't confirmed it myself, the rumour is that the exclusive content for Destiny 2 will be on a flat 3 month basis, not tied to specific releases. If true, this means Bungie realised the current exclusive content model was unsustainable. 4. When all of the above is taken into account one can reach the conclusion that, ultimately, the ones that really punished the Xbox players were Microsoft themselves.

3 RepliesLol, yeah I'm sure they will turn down all that money Sony is offering for the exclusivity rights so people that are married to their Xbox can get virtual things....
-
5 RepliesSony gave them a lot of money for a couple weapons and a shitty strike. I hardly see how anybody is being punished.
-
true, i dont care if they get some exclusives but missions, strikes etc shouldnt be exclusive

1 ReplyGo to ur room ur grounded

1 ReplyI would like it if they just reduced the time from a year (which is ridiculous) to like 3 months the fact that xbox STILL and WONT get zen meteor and jade rabbit for D1 is utter horseshit and that is objectively true idgaf what platform you are on.

17 RepliesSony said: we'll give you a couple hundred thousand dollars to make more weapons, but you have to limit them to PlayStation. Why wouldn't Bungie take that deal?
-
2 RepliesOh my.... looks like we have another Xbox Crybaby. If you do not like it then buy a PS4 to play D2 and other great games with your Xbone. These posts with Xbox fan boys crying foul make the Xbox community look like what everyone on PS4 thinks of them "Crybaby's" Sony paid for the content exclusivity M$ didn't. Plus I hate to brake it to you Bungie makes a lot more sales on the PS4 versions of Destiny and most likely D2 because the player base on PS4 is 3:1 vs Xbox

7 Repliesbungie isnt the cause of exclusions, the companies that own the consoles are the ones you should be mad at. each company gets the offer, whichever one takes the offer gets the exclusivity thus meaning microsoft doesnt care, not bungie.

8 RepliesBungie didn't make the decision for us.....Microsoft did. I really wish Xbox players would stop yelling at Bungie for this. They're all making us look stupid. It's not Bungies fault Microsoft turned down the offer and Sony said yes and then put up extra cash to extend the length of the exclusivity. That's why they have those two little words "at least" in there...

3 RepliesIt's not bungie it's Microsoft ffs get over it, go cry to Microsoft on Twitter or something.
-
3 RepliesBungie isnt punishing anyone. Microsoft is punishing you by not purchasing exclusives on its players behalf. Bungie has every right in the world to make money, just like u
-
12 RepliesI'm sure xbox was offered the same deal as Sony again for D2 and still turned it down, yell at Microsoft not bungie

4 RepliesEdited by Stea1th Vixen: 4/30/2017 2:14:07 PMAs an XB1 player, since they're so-call Ps4 exclusives: well that means PC won't get the exclusives either. So 2 out of 3 platforms (one being PC, the other XB1) won't get the exclusives until a year or 2 years later. IF at all ! Personally I don't care, its not like I'm going to dump all my friends and buy a PS4 because of some stupid digital exclusives. If thats what Sony thinks, they are sadly mistaken.

There's nothing punishing about it. For one, the playerbases are split so there's no "advantage" of having gear the other can't get. Second, giving one platform extra stuff is rewarding that platform, not punishing the other. It would be punishing if Bungie, say, decided to make the Sepiks Perfected strike suddenly PS4 only, removing it from XBox. Just because someone else is better off doesn't mean you're getting shit on for it.

2 RepliesJade Rabbit and Zen Meteor? Allegedly these guns aren't that great. The Hawkmoon exclusive was something Xbox players fret upon because it was an OP handcannon. At least we got the Hawkmoon.

4 RepliesMost games have console exclusive content, but I agree that 1-2 years is far too long. Unfortunately, it appears you may be in for the same delays for D2. The official statement is similar to D1's.
Timed exclusive content until at least Fall 2018.
11 RepliesGuess you won't be buying Destiny 2 then. Timed exclusives are coming back in full effect, scrub. Bungie owes you nothing.
-
3 RepliesCry cry cry, exclusive for a reason bub
-
1 ReplyThe deal was offered to both Sony and MS by Activision. MS is the one who didn't care enough about you to secure the exclusives. So if you want to boycott something for your cause, either stop buying first party MS products, or all products available for MS.

1 ReplyDidn't we get some of the weapons that the playstation had??
