I realize it's early days yet but didn't see anything in the trailer to get me exited. I guess they figure they can go the slow burn approach. It's interesting that they seem to be pushing Star Wars away from its roots as pulpy good vs evil to more shades of grey. I guess that's more in keeping with the current Zeitgeist. Still, can't help but feel some of the charm of the originals is the innocence and simplicity.

  • Notice how the sequences in the force awakens trailer and the new one are basically the same. Person breathing heavily, voice over about the Force, rebel ships scraping a planet surface, title.

  • Yeah. I guess they wanted to match that arguably iconic trailer. Like I said in the OP, the music alone is incredible.
