It's not an official remake and is instead being made by a group of fans known as Apeiron. Not only are they updating the aesthetics, but it also appears first person will be added in, whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is debatable but it looks like they are doing it anyway. I have heard nothing about any revamps to the combat system, or game mechanics in general, but what has been shown of the game is stated to be in pre-alpha. I am pretty excited to see one of my favorite rpgs getting a nice makeover, but that doesn't mean it will definitely happen seeing as how Disney now owns Star Wars and did not license this remake.
