It's sad what PvP has become.
All you ever see now are snipers. After a few hours of clash, this is the conclusion. And it's sad. What is the beginning of a match like? Just sniper trades. What's the rest of the match? Staying back and sniping. The whole time. You hardly see primary use anymore just that stupid red sniper glare. How is that fun? How is it fun to just stay back and trade sniper shots? This isn't enjoyable, and it really truly ruins the experience. This is someone who has been here since the beta man. Even the thorn meta was better than this. But how can you defend against someone who is sniping through the tiniest hole, when you're getting sniped easily just running across somewhere. Full teams of snipers, fill teams staying back sniping. This is beyond frustrating at this point, and I don't understand how you don't see this as an issue. Even after the announcement nerf people sill pathetically use exploits just to help get sniper ammo. Why? Why must you do this? I dread going into PvP now just cuz I know no matter what corner I turn there's a sniper waiting. You can't justify this. And it's not that Snipers are overpowers because they aren't. It's the way they work in this game. No sway, no flinch, easy to switch between weapons so just land a sniper hit and use primary to finish. All these short scopes and being able to move so easily while scoping with a sniper. It's the mechanics to them. It's made this game truly just not enjoyable anymore because all teams do now is stay back or just guard a room with snipers. Gonna try to rush? Team shot by snipers. Gonna try to flank? They spot you and snipe you. I'm trying to honestly deal with it but it's becoming increasingly difficult to do so. And I don't care if you call me a crybaby or a scrub I don't give a damn. You all know it's true.
Edit: if you're gonna just insult then you're garbage. If I must clarify just to satisfy you then fine. Again. I'm not saying nerf the damn snipers. They are fine. But everything else is so unbalanced it makes snipers the only viable option, but those who aren't good with them or who's style just isn't sniping, they get screwed over.

Its not that its sad..sniping is map dependant...shotguns do get there use depending on the map..i say quit ur crying an play a different strategy

1 ReplyI can tell you why. They nerfed the agressive play style (last word + shotgun, thorn + shotgun). The beginning of a match is who gets first to the sniper lane, not who gets first to the enemy team. I agree, it is boring.

Part of the problem is that snipers essentially have no drawbacks or disadvantages. The other Special weapons can't be used outside of their intended ranges. Shotguns are still close-range monsters that can't hit anything at mid-range, sidearms and fusion rifles are close-to-mid-range and can't work at long-range, but snipers can be used at every range when you get better. You can't say the same about the other weapons.

I enjoy playing against snipers and I use a sidearm. I came up on three snipers hard scoping and killed them all with a vortex grenade.

Only the actually good snipers will be hitting you then. If you just walk around a corner normally into a known sniper lane, you deserve to get your head blown off.

No what needs to happen is those that aren't sniping need to sit back n guard us snipers flank. It's how we win n every1 gets a positive KD.

Well said man. I agree with the snipers thing too, snipers and scout rifles, namely mida. I'm not complaining about crucible, I don't enjoy it like pve but I put up with banner for the loot. I do nothing else in PvP because it draws a certain crowd to it I necessarily don't fit in with. Twitch reaction, generally much younger, cocky, tea bagging sore winners/losers. With taken king releasing I thought bungie wanted to diversify players using different guns. But everyone uses the same load out! Oh well only two more levels till level 5 iron banner then I'll be done with it for another month. 😉. Cheers man!

The problem with snipers for me is that they treat them as their primaries. I'm good enough to know that something needs to change with primaries. No one knows what a primary battle is anymore. They either run away when they get one shot on them or they go to hide pull out their sniper and try sniping you.

The only changes that were ever needed were a [i]slight[/i] pulse rifle buff (i.e. NOT A FUСKING 10% BUFF), bad juju buff, and super good advice buff.

3 RepliesHonestly man, you just had bad luck. I played i think close to 8-10 matches last night. each team we played had maybe 2 snipers. and same goes for my team. We ran auto/pulse rifles with sidearms/fusion combos all night and we did pretty good. I hate that you encountered that. I used to snipe a lot, especially in ToO, but I starting to love rushing with Hawksaw/Smite and Ironwreath man

Its actually gotten to the point where if I'm with primary range with a side-arm (#Side-arm slayer) my target will still try to double body me instead of switching to a primary. I had one instance where one guy last worded my teammate and when I meleed him, he switched to 1K stare and quick scopes me point blank. Tell me why this should be happening other than "oh he got lucky" The rest of the kill feed consisted of shorties and snipers for the rest of the game. Except for when I'm lucky enough to catch these guys off guard then there is my FC hand cannon in the feed. Problem isn't snipes or shorties, its that special weapons have very few drawbacks. There is no reason why someone should be able to snipe me when I'm spraying him down with the doctrine, WHERE DA FLINCH AT?

I feel the game has lost its enjoyment now, yes the thorn/shotgun era was annoying but at least you could have fun with it. Not too sure where the future lies for destiny now, especially the PVP side I'm just hoping they can sort the aim assist on the snipers.

I played a game earlier where everyone camped with a MIDA or a sniper. Every time I started shooting someone with my Hard light they ran away. Lag was also a problem even though it was all green bars. PvP is just not fun right now with how passive everyone plays.
