It's sad what PvP has become.
All you ever see now are snipers. After a few hours of clash, this is the conclusion. And it's sad. What is the beginning of a match like? Just sniper trades. What's the rest of the match? Staying back and sniping. The whole time. You hardly see primary use anymore just that stupid red sniper glare. How is that fun? How is it fun to just stay back and trade sniper shots? This isn't enjoyable, and it really truly ruins the experience. This is someone who has been here since the beta man. Even the thorn meta was better than this. But how can you defend against someone who is sniping through the tiniest hole, when you're getting sniped easily just running across somewhere. Full teams of snipers, fill teams staying back sniping. This is beyond frustrating at this point, and I don't understand how you don't see this as an issue. Even after the announcement nerf people sill pathetically use exploits just to help get sniper ammo. Why? Why must you do this? I dread going into PvP now just cuz I know no matter what corner I turn there's a sniper waiting. You can't justify this. And it's not that Snipers are overpowers because they aren't. It's the way they work in this game. No sway, no flinch, easy to switch between weapons so just land a sniper hit and use primary to finish. All these short scopes and being able to move so easily while scoping with a sniper. It's the mechanics to them. It's made this game truly just not enjoyable anymore because all teams do now is stay back or just guard a room with snipers. Gonna try to rush? Team shot by snipers. Gonna try to flank? They spot you and snipe you. I'm trying to honestly deal with it but it's becoming increasingly difficult to do so. And I don't care if you call me a crybaby or a scrub I don't give a damn. You all know it's true.
Edit: if you're gonna just insult then you're garbage. If I must clarify just to satisfy you then fine. Again. I'm not saying nerf the damn snipers. They are fine. But everything else is so unbalanced it makes snipers the only viable option, but those who aren't good with them or who's style just isn't sniping, they get screwed over.

I completely agree with you. Snipers should get de-scoped if they're hit while scoping IMO. I'm getting really bored of being sniped all the time. A sniper should not be able to headshot me so easily while I'm putting 3 rounds of mida into them. They should at least be harder to use.

I'm not good with a sniper first off however I think I'm pretty good with a scout rifle going against snipers. Some folks are sniper gods but most panic when taking fire and usually miss. The IB scout being a 3 shot they dont have much time to react. This iron banner has been the most fun for me in a long time. Control is all blink shotgun. Rift is a team game

Snipers... Extremely passive snipers everywhere... I understand sniping but really... Sniping for the entire game staying in the spawn or sniper lane unless flipped from a push. Clash is the most passive and most boring game mode ever right now.

Nah its more like people using body shotting with snipers then switching to tlw or dop. Has nobody realized the "op" primaries are ones that you can spray and pray with. Dop. Fastest firing auto Tlw. Fastest firing hand cannon Mida. Fast firing scout Grasp of malok, fastest firing pulse HOW IS THIS NOT OBVIOUS.

10 Repliesits sad actually, I remember this game was suppose and I mean suppose to be the ultimate PVE experience, the crucible was there just to test your mettle. then all of these people basically bought the game for just the PVP and were no happy with the tiny bit they got unaware this game was mostly for PVE. then Bungie and their subpar mindset started steering away from the PVE side they so thoroughly worked(Snicker*..................HAHAHAHAHA) and began throwing all of this PVP material into the game with little work being done and no Events to the PVE side just to make it look like they still cared. even though they put out 2 expansions then wiped them with another( cant say bigger as it wasn't) they spent more of their time catering to the PVP infestation that moved into this game. Now they just don't give a shit about the PVP. so they dropped the ball on the biggest portion of the game to build up the smallest and infested side. now they don't give shit about that side either. they throw in patches to offset the balance and force people to change up gear for no reason other than people get a set of gear that works to their play style and Bungie does not like it. man I remember when bungie said that our favorite gear will never be left behind or it will never be felt like it was gonna be weaker than the others. Well bungie does not have a clue what balance is and will continue to destroy their own game with every decision they make. I really wonder why people invest so much time in this game. I don't fell sorry for ya, but pity ya because there are better choices out there to play and grow upon. but if you wanna ride this maelstrom to it inevitable rest at the bottom of the sea, leave your air tanks on the coast.

You should try having your team hunker down and cross it up on mid range lanes. Snipers in the back watching over warlocks and Titans playing mid and front. As long as there are 3 lanes covered by snipers and 3 mid/insert/front players the game will go in your favor. Quit trying to change the game and adapt to it. Please, save the insults as I'm just trying to give you realistic advice -- not bashing you, or anyone, in any way whatsoever. It's a pvp game with snipers and shotguns. People die from both. Primary engagements usually end up having one team roll through with grenades and shotguns so sniping becomes more viable. If you get sniped trying to rush then, sorry to say, you picked the wrong moment to rush. Rub some dirt on it and try again. Relax and play the game.

Snipers are apart of this game; hell theyre apart of every multiplayer shooter. Learn how to use them or learn to flank more effectively. Atleast there is no quickscoping like in CoD.

I like the no sway and not having to hold your breath to stabilize the gun before shooting. Destiny isn't going for realism and these tropes are more serving to that end than not. Destiny is supposed to be fast paced with the potential for comebacks and turnovers to happen anytime. Obviously better teams will minimize turnovers against them, the exceptions being when they are playing other competitive teams at their level. A mistake a player could get away with playing average teams might be very costly at high level play. Complicating the sniper with sway or stabilize would needlessly slow their in- game use down to the point they are more trouble to use than they are worth. For the time being, snipers are " user friendly". In the past, certain situations where using the sniper might have spelled certain doom, people are now finding success instead. I think bungie went a tad overboard with the auto aim tracking, but at the same time if it's not the sniper, then it's a blink and party crasher/ matador 64 user, or a fusion sniper rifle. All three guns are more or less ONE KO weapons just with different methods of use. These different methods of use open up new gameplay avenues but in doing so also invite an added layer of variability to the game. That's why the game feels so inconsistent at times due to most shootouts and situations coming down to a rock, paper, scissors winner- take- all conclusion. Guardian A camps with sniper watching a hallway, guardian B rounds the corner into the hallway but has a better sniper with superior scope, guardian C respawns behind guardian B and Nova bombs him at just the moment he rounds the corner, readys his scope, lines up the shot and pulls the trigger only to get blown up without ever firing a shot. Having snipers in the " user friendly " group gives every player access to a power weapon and thus a more even footing to compete. It would be much worse if one sniper had a huge advantage over others and it was lock behind some difficult challenge the average player would struggle with.

10 RepliesIf you're playing Clash - a mode with 1 simple objective: kill more/die less - and you're trying to charge a choke point/sniper lane, well, more fool you. Clash doesn't require either team to push a central position as there is no objective zones to control. If your team is smart, they'll let the opposition move up and expose themselves, then the only control element is whether to flip the spawn for map advantage.
