I just don't get it. We all know the problems that Destiny has had since launch. We all have seen Bungie mishandle and bungle way too many game decisions.
-Criticism is not bad.
-Holding Bungie to higher standards than other game companies because of their history is not unreasonable.
But at some point there's a line when it stops being about trying to better the game and complaining just to complain.
I was reading Google News and a GI article popped up saying Sparrow Racing announced as a special limited-time December event and I hopped over to the forums expecting to find celebratory posts...
And instead there are people crapping all over it.
Why isn't it Cabal dlc??!!

No one asked for this!!!

rip Destiny!
First of all, Sparrow Racing was probably the first requested add-on when the beta dropped. Beyond that, how many thousands of posts ask for other special events besides IB to participate in?
Last month we had the Festival of the Lost. This month Sparrow Racing. Are they fixing all that still ails the game? No, but they're not making it worse either.
For all the pissing and moaning about lack of content, the fact that people just want to crap on it when they get it just makes you wonder if there's anything that would make them happy.
If you hate the game that much, I'm sorry. But it doesn't mean you have to take your hatred into every post that shows excitement about new content.
Edit: For all the complaints about it being a limited time event, couple things.
1) it is most likely a test run to work out all the kinks.
If it's successful and smooth it could very well become a regular mode.
2) it could be great as a monthly week long event like IB going forward.
I've felt for a long time there should be a weekly event every week alternating PvP/PvE. This could be one such.

1.) It is quite annoying that Sparrow Racing was added as an event only. 2.) [speculation] Sparrow Racing adds a small amount of playable content. 3.) People are pissed by the new PS exclusive content.

This is a good thing. Great. But I think people complain because there are dozens of bigger things that are constantly referred to that just get blatantly ignored. Throwing in a fun event (why time limit?) is great, but .....

You are still doing this no life much, like 20 games have came out that quadruple the content of this horrid game

lol like the best part is people having been asking and asking for this and they finally giving it to us not in DLC just giving it to us for free (yes I know some sparrows or whatever will be bought with money it's probably cosmetic) and they still upset, maybe only for 3 weeks but 3 weeks is a long time and it's probably a trial period to see how this goes I mean it's racing in an fps game...I'm excited, I'm excited it's coming like within the week, I'm excited it's something brand new that we've been wanting, and I think it will give us at least a little something to do besides raids and trials until at least the announcement of the next dlc
-
Ive gotta say, props to bungie for adding it. But I do have complaints. Why isn't it a permanent thing? Why can't we have a full on quality add on. Not these cosmetic or "do a challenge on this mission" crap. I'm glad it's coming but it should be permanent. If it's just "go here and you win" on a patrol map. Because if it's just that, then why not make it a patrol beacon? Also why is silver a thing? Lol. It's pathetic IMO but I'm excited to see what they do. Please don't upset me bungie.

Most of the new Sparrows can only be accessed via Eververse. #alwayscheckthesmallprint

1 ReplyBump, players complain when content is removed and that's understandable, but adding content? Really people?
-
2 RepliesI'm just pissed that it's not -blam!-ing permanent. Same shit with Mayhem. Why only three weeks? -blam!-ing stupid...

I personally find it laughable, only because it has been something asked for since launch. That was over a year ago. Also, those racetracks are probably pretty small. They'd have to be, or else you get the dreaded "loading" screen when going into a different area that can hold players up who aren't the host. That hiccup is not good for racing. But, horrible lag and connection manipulation plagued PvP and that didn't stop them from rolling out ToO, so I can see this being an issue. Lol

Say it from the mountain top op.
