He spawns in FRONT of you. From the moment you enter the area you are moving FOWARDS.. Not backwards. Simple right??
-
Atheon - the 3 farthest to the back get teleported. (Bungie changed this, just an example) Crota - stand at the glass in the back and get ready drop his shield. Oryx - he always slams his fist on a front plate first.
-
1 Reply99 percent of the people I've played with say where Oryx spawns is the front.
-
4 RepliesThe "room" is not a room because it has no walls. You are standing at the front of the dreadnaught which is a ship, not a house, and oryx comes up from the front of the ship. Therefore he is in the front.
-
1 ReplyL1, L2, R1, R2 Simple
-
When you walk into a house, what is the front of the house?
-
2 RepliesInstead of calling it front snd back just assign people to each platform and call their names when they need to jump.
-
1 ReplyI see it from the moment you walk in without moving anywhere thats how you USUALLY determine where everything is. Just think about this. You are approaching the sisters . You walk through the door and STOP an inch in front of the door where the door can close behind you and . Now obviously the platforms in front of you are in front of you. The platforms behind the sisters are in the back. There is absolutely no reason to walk up to L2 and R2 and call those the front. Thats like walking in a room and going straight until you hit the wall and calling that the front it makes no sense I just prefer to use L2 and R2 its easier. Shout out to halo for these call outs :)

2 Replies*variks's voice* they will try to argue with you. Argue with them back.
-
I now belive where oryx spawns is the front I used to belive it was the back

Edited by tehCOM3BACKkid: 10/26/2015 12:40:33 PMWhen you walk through the doorway there are the left and right sides. The plates closest to you are L1 and R1, and the far plates are L2 and R2. Wow, that was difficult...
-
Number them in the beginning and call it a day. For oryx their numbers in accordance where he slams. 3 people have 1,2 or 3 assigned to them and stand accordingly each time he slams

It's whatever I call them as I'm the raid leader

We just call it Saturn and Door.
-
Edited by albino_monkey42: 10/23/2015 10:59:25 PMFor me what makes sense is Saturn is back and the spawn is front. Like the door to my house is where I enter and that the front of the house, the back rooms are the ones that face out the back yard. If I enter a restaurant and the host sits walks to the far side of the dinning room to seat us, I tell my friends we got a table in the back. But every one I play oryx with orientates the other way.

28 RepliesExplanation: Alright, imagine the entrance to the Oryx fight is the front door to your house and Oryx is standing at the backdoor of your house. Just because he is in front of you doesn't mean he is in the front of the house. He is in the back, thus why the plates closest to him are the back plates. To me Oryx is in front of you, but is just chilling in the back of the room. I thought this was universally known, guess not
-
Which is why I call them "spawn" left and right and "oryx" left and right. We spawn at one end, oryx appears at he other.
-
Everyone does it differently. The important part is to spend 30 seconds, before you start, to reach a consensus. Establish where you're going to go to shoot daughters, make sure there are 4 people with permanent plate locations (plus a floater), and after that... your experience should carry you through your tasks (assuming you don't have any noobs).
-
2 RepliesIf we are on a ship why is it not port and starboard instead of left and right
-
To help avoid this our team has the platforms numbered and we call where oryx spawns "where oryx spawns" or the spark point, and the door is called, wait for it... "The door" or "the stairs" We had a front/back, left/right issue on the other raids, so we try to name things to avoid using relative positional terms. I face palm everytime I see one of these front back arguments on here lol
-
Think about it like a stage, and oryx is your audience
-
Never really had this issue. I think of it like any tractor trailer. Towards oryx is the nose and back to the door is the tail.
-
Because the back of the room isn't the front and even if it were then you need to flip left and right to match that orientation. I don't even listen to anyone on the raid anymore, if they say front back left or right I tell them to stfu.
