Let's show Bungie that we WANT to have our year one weapons.
Edit: Our Gally taken away. Our Hopscotch taken away. Now, I know why it's called The Taken King.
Edit 2:
Bungie Weekly Update - 12/04/2014
by DeeJ
“The last thing we wanted was for you to look at your favorite gun or helmet and decide that it had become obsolete. Since the reveal, we’ve read a lot of ideas for how this could have been done better. Your feedback is clear: The time you have invested in your stuff should be respected.”
Edit 3: #Year1Matters #WeWantChoice
Edit 4: People should play how they want to play and define fun for themselves. We are NOT against new weapons. We just want a choice and have our hard work respected.
Edit 5: It's always interesting to see what people who are against choice have to say. It's like they sit in a room and plot how they will try to kill this movement.
Edit 6: The censoring of us by "Mentors" and Xur news for tomorrow. I see them!
Edit 7: Cozmo has said he talked to the devs about it. I can't find his post, but know that he's the Community Manager we need. We must keep the pressure going!

3 RepliesEdited by Star Gazer2: 8/24/2015 11:39:47 PMthe other posts that are trying to save year 1 are being hidden by Bungie's ninjas. There already two popular petitions now awaiting ninja justice.

1 ReplyYeah!!! And Bungie should build a big wall. China built one to keep out immigrants back in the day and so should Bungie! And yeah we'll hide year one behind it so the illegals can't get it!

3 RepliesEdited by AntharPrime: 8/24/2015 11:19:24 PMUpset that your year one gear is being left behind? Then why not protest it by picking a specific day and just don't log in. If enough people stop playing for one day and our has a big enough affect on the game then Bungie not take notice. There have been a number of protests that changed the decisions of game developers. Eve online had a massive protest when thousands of players turned their ships and fired on the main space station. It made the developer realize how unpopular their decisions were in the community. Edit: I would suggest picking September 1st to save the first year. Edit 2: So far the 15th had been mentioned since it is the release day for TTK. It might draw more attention.

I'm excited for the new weapons. But I wish that bungie would let us take one legendary with use to year 2. My swarm was the first legendary I got and I don't want to part with it.

10 RepliesYear One sucked ass. Let's move on and hope they've got it figured out. If not, there's a slew of new games on the horizon and I have no problem dropping this game like a flaming turd.

18 RepliesYear 1 weapons aren't being revoked. Bungie isn't going into our inventories and mugging us of Fatebringer, Black Hammer, Gjallarhorn, etc. They can still be used for Year 1 content, the beginning of The Taken King storyline and in PvP, where the attack values on a weapon don't matter. What Bungie is doing is (hopefully) giving us weapons that outperform current favorites.

1 ReplyI lol at the fact that no matter you yearwunners cry and complain y'all won't get your way

I just wish as far as armor goes, you could just make a good set of armor look like something you have. Some of the coolest gear is the blue gear. I hate having to look like everyone else. HoW solved it to a extent.

9 RepliesThe thing is, balancing an entire arsenal of new weapons alongside the entire history of weapons is a task that gets exponentially more difficult. I think Bungie needs to communicate better with players. All we've received are mixed messages. They need to have a candid interview outlying why these decisions were made and their overall philosophy on progression. My take is that this is "saving players from themselves." House of Wolves proved how much faster players can burn out when they only need to ascend what they have rather than acquiring a new slate of items. You just know that if all weapons were relevant in TTK the forums would be ablaze with "there's no point in running Oryx now that I have Fatebringer ascended." However bad it feels to lose some of our favorites, I think it would be worse if all we ran Oryx for was some successor to Etheric Light.

83 RepliesEdited by ChopnScrew: 8/23/2015 6:25:15 PMTo the folks that are against this: we get it. You want new weapons and armor. Guess what? You ARE getting them. If you are so ready to leave your old stuff behind, then you YOURSELF do that. Use the new gear extensively to get that "feel" of "evolving" you want. Now, how is the old gear staying relevant going to effect YOU? You don't have to use it. If needed, dismantle all of it. Answer: it's not. All this will do is make others happy. So what if they are stuck in their old ways? How is that going to effect YOU? It's not. Let them stay in the past, because that's a choice they made, just like you made to move to the new. I listed the two extremes, but now let's look at what the majority of the player base will do: use both. You cannot honestly say that the idea of having a catalog of weapons and armor spanning from not one year, but two, is not appealing. Why choose less? Answer: you shouldn't. Stop thinking about yourself and support this movement. You have nothing to lose. But we, on the other hand, DO.

4 RepliesI personally agree with ghorn becoming obsolete, amongst others like ice breaker. It forces people to play differently and that's interesting, frankly I'm just looking for a challenge from destiny with a dlc that finally lasts more than a week.
-
6 RepliesDumb post. Year one is for suckers. Bring on yeR 2 baby!
-
I don't care about the weapons but think people should experience year one content like vog and crota. Although I didn't really care for crota. They need a way to make them relevant
-
4 RepliesOMG, PROGRESSION INSTEAD OF STATIC GAMEPLAY?!? NO WAY! You don't need to be using the same 3 guns forever, I don't want to see people using the exact same weapons for the rest of destiny. Get over it
