SIGN PETITION TO NERF THORN FOR PVP. BOYCOTTING TRIALS OF OSIRIS UNTIL THE WEAPON IS NERFED
It is ridiculous that a very fun and competitive game mode is completely ruined by one single weapon. Tge Thorn NEEDS to be nerfed. A high rate of fire, 2 shot crit kill weapon? Seriously Bungie, if you havent realized that the thorn is dominating and ruining Trials of Osiris, please open your eyes. I have a countless number of friends that agree with me 100%, and the signatures in this petition will show you how we feel. I am simply counting replies to this post as signatures, so if you have a negative comment to make, thank you for the additional petition signature. Please, we dont want to have to boycott The Taken King, but it would be pointless to buy it if PVP is still ruined. Thank you everyone!
Edit: I feel the best way to adjust the thorn is by either reducing its rate of fire or its stability, or both. That would make it so that you hand cannon beasts out there would still dominate with it, but a scrub couldnt get any further with it than he can with any other weapon. If you are as good as you think you are with hand cannons, then a nerf like i suggested would in no way effect your ability to trash scrubs in Trials of Osiris. The gun shouldnt be broken, afterall, it is an exotic.

1 ReplyI recommend removing it from PvP. I'd be surprised if everyone started using last word instead. Really, if you think about it, Thorn should be a PvE insanely ridiculously good weapon. You should be able to kill anything Hive in 3 shots. Much like you can in PvP. The fact that one gun dictates the outcome of Trials is just ridiculous to me.

The only thing to counter a thorn is another thorn and the matches are soo sloppy due to thorn fights and running with DoT on you. It is way to dominate and needs somehow to be nerfed in pvp.

Hip fire is great if I can get close to the target but half the time I'm being picked off from across the map with thorn. My suggestion is simple...just cut its range slightly, problem solved. Pistols should all be mid to close range weapons. If you think thorn is not overpowered, then just look at how many people use it in a match. It is clearly overpowered.

1 ReplyWhat if the poison damage was removed completely from PvP? Also, I will add that it's pretty ridiculous that a hand cannon can out shoot a red death or another rifle from more than 50 ft away. I won't lie. The Thorn has ruined Trials of Osiris. And Last Word is pretty ridiculous as well. I feel your pain man.

To be honest, I just think that if it was to be nerf'd then the DoT should be cut and instead, a shield recharge delay should be in place. Only for PvP though. I mean it would still be a weapon most used in PvP but it would be more bareable with. Hand cannons will forever dominate PvP though

1 ReplySo many people complaining about thorn, even if it is op, and even if it needs a nerf, stop complaining or they will nerf all hand cannons into uselessness like the autos. And to others stop saying git gud when it is ridiculous going up against some of these exotic hand cannons, if like to see you guys go into a match with a crappy auto rifle against everyone else using a thorn. Buffing auto rifles a little bit (like restoring half of the damage nerfed) would be nice, I liked the suros days more than these thorn matches I get in crucible now...

You're obviously ignorant, if it was so damn hard then it wouldn't be a problem in pvp becuase you'd rarely see it. The fact that you'll join an osiris, or any crucible match, and see the whole opposing team using the gun that takes the least amount of skill to use speaks for itself people. The thorn is super easy to get and is completely unbalanced, while there are other exotics that aren't owned by everyone, like [u]EXOTICS [/u] are meant to be, are nerfed beyond conventional use.

3 RepliesOk then, wht if it gets a nerf then another weapon would become the most op like vex or last word or red death! Legendary weapons need a buff to compete with there exotic counterparts! we need to make others weapons reverent because destiny is a loot based game and there for needs more variety. Now this is what I think would fix destinys pvp.... Make all weapons equal in time to kill (including exotic weapons) but all require different play styles so skill would decide who would win in a fire fight not who is using thorn. Ps I know exotic weapons are supposed to be op but I think they shouldn't be in pvp because there are some good legendary weapons most people just glans over because thorn is too good! So nerf all exotics and people will start using more legendary weapons in there primary slots! Thx for reading
