EDIT: here's a nice video to summarize Bungie and their supporters:
http://youtu.be/OfxDX1b5twM
Now give us $20 for the same things in the collectors edition! How's that for EVEN BETTER REWARD? Lol Bungie has truly shown their colors. Deej made a bs reply the other day to attempt to cool everyone down about the Euro interview with Luke Smith and this is all they could deliver.
Oh, wait, but we get an all black shader and sparrow too? Lawl, that's going to be really cool when every single scrub in the game is using it. Gg if you worked for your revenant shader, because now it's worthless.
The $20 is expected, which is a let down to say the least. The bigger let down is that Deej straight up lied about "AN EVEN BETTER REWARD" to get people off their backs while they had to come up with the solution EVERYONE ELSE had all ready thought of. GG Bungie.
OH, and not even a mention about the fact that TTK costs more overseas for a digital good. Guess that "it's foreign to me" comment that Luke Smith made is truly Bungie's outlook on everyone outside of the United States.
EDIT: If Bungie values a few emotes and meaningless items at $20 then what does that tell you they value TTK at $40? $60 vanilla destiny was lacking content from the start and that was $60. I'm baffled that people think a $40 expansion is going to be substantial in any way.
Also, I realize he said there is more to come today, again, which I can only assume will be as lackluster as every other announcement made, but we will see. More than likely it will just be confirming the same shit they already had 3 or 4 times now. Which is just throwing the 'VIP rewards" and telling people that they're special to make them feel good. "Wow, Deej says I'm a special guardian and that I must fight back the darkness, KEWL IM IN!" Lawl. Sheep will be sheep.
The best part about this community is that they are so invested in Destiny that it keeps them from ruining game communities that are actually worth a damn. From the level of toxicity I'd assume 90% of the player base is made up of CoD and Halo kids, both of which will be leaving once BO3 and Halo 5 come out.
Remember when people were let down with vanilla Destiny so Bungie promised to fix it with The Dark Below? Then they didn't. Then they said they would fix all that with The House of Wolves. Then, they didn't. Now they are claiming that The Taken King will fix those problems...and somehow people believe them. You are blind fanboi's who are too overcome with your love for the Bungie that made the Halo franchise to see that they are no longer the company they once were. They have become a part of the Activision/EA/Ubisoft that choose to hype their games to no end to get a high amount of pre-orders so that they have guaranteed money before reviews come out showing the games as lack-luster, often times buggy, messes. Enjoy wasting your money time and time again. It will be fun to check in year 8(if it makes it that far) when they are charging everyone $40 for ghost shells and maybe year 9 another $40 for some weapon shaders.
NEW UPDATE PART 2 IS UP:and just like I said, it tries to sweep the whole issue under the rug by not mentioning it other then "we will later" fuking lawl, take that fanboiz.
Even business insider agrees that Bungie is screwing up:
http://www.businessinsider.com/the-destiny-revolt-wont-end-until-these-two-issues-are-addressed-2015-6
** Honestly tired of answering the same points over and over again.
Yes, not buying it is a solution. One of which I will be doing.
Yes, other games charge for extra content. Big difference being most of those games weren't slammed for the initial lack of content.
Charging for content in a game whose biggest flaw was its insane lack of content is like a slap in the face. GG, people, gg.**
here come the fanboiz talking about how much money they make and that everyone is entitled
2 Replies...what they're doing now is called Damage Control. they wanted to milk their customers (yet again), forums have gone mad about it, they're trying to calm the forum customers down, ....there's nothing else to it

Background: I've updated my commentary below to my original posting: After the Weekly Update and Luke discussion to IGN on Sony Exclusivity ending for Year One: Recent weekly update $20 on top of $40 is ridiculous fan service to Day One players. What exactly are we getting? Guess we find out tomorrow. However, the recent comments Luke made to IGN in regards to the Sony PS4 exclusives strikes being remixed and "taken" has given me pause. WILL PREVIOUS SONY EXCLUSIVE STRIKES THAT WRRE SUPPOSE TO GIVEN TO US ONCE EXCLUSIVITY ENDED GOING TO BE ONLY ACTIVATED IF YOU BUY TKK?! While we are on this discussion point, how about the deceptive advertising that a raid would be available for HoW? (Many discussions and images are show this) ARE WE NOT GOING TO GET THE RAID THAT WAS PROMISED from HoW? Kiss that goodbye? Instead, we have to pay for additional content to get the next raid now. Don't tell me Bungie never promised anything. There are gamers out there that found value in getting season pass since we thought we would get two raids. Any company outside of gaming that sells a product to consumers would not be able to get away with this without trade organization/legal action. We gamers are letting them get away with this due to the social and behavioral gaming that they have successfully discovered. I'm breaking those "servitor chains". I will wait and see what they will provide within the DLC, but I'll buy it at a price that's discounted further that I deem worthy whenever that may be. Don't really care about the Redbull deal, as many other gaming companies have had partnerships to make coin (Halo4 with Mountain Dew). I personally don't drink Red Bull due to the associated health studies that have come out in regards to it, maybe I'll get lucky with some codes to get that content. I'll continue to play the raids, NFs, and Weeklies until they conveniently raise the levels for those strikes to push me nonbuyers out. But I implore everyone to seriously think about how much they have given to this game and not the perception vs reality on amount of content provided. The argument that we have received hundred to thousands of hours of gaming in comparison to whatever original amount you paid plus season pass is irrelevant. This game was pushed/rushed out because they saw a window of opportunity to fill the void of no competition to their game for over a year. This may be TLDR. You may not care and say good riddance to me. But I seriously have enjoyed the community good and bad. Many laughs have been had. I haven't had this level of engagement in any game period. I will remember my fond memories of joy (Gally drops, IB kills) and frustration (Raid glitches, Crucible issues, vault space). Maybe I'll be back for Destiny 2 - The true game meant to be played as we are all QA testers in my view up to Year 1. Prior to Weekly update: As if Luke Smith interview wasn't inflammatory enough (he was worked with 1up and Kokatu previously, so he's not clueless, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luke_Smith_(writer) , the arrogance shown by Deej's comments (CE soldout go on eBay to buy it overpriced) tells me there's a disconnect between what Bungie defines as listening to the community, fan loyalty, and being about the $$$. I come from a corporate world. I get it. It's a business and you have to make money. Getting $500M indebted to a publisher is huge. But there are better solutions that could've been provided. http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2015/06/22/bungies-disastrous-taken-king-interview-could-have-ramifications-for-destiny/ I have been a Bungie fan for many years. Ever since Halo 1, I've played and read anything I could get my hands on with the Halo universe and lore. So imagine my excitement when Destiny was announced with all of the aforementioned features. Initally, I pre-ordered the Limited Edition Destiny Bundle for PS4, in addition to the white PS4. I waited to see the official reviews (which mysteriously took almost two weeks after launch) and customer reviews to hold final judgement. I'm so glad I returned my limited edition PS4 game copy. I instead grabbed an amazing deal far below the retail price, and bought it for both systems as I had friends on both platforms. I drank the kool-aid. I have over 10+ days worth of game time. I'm 34 on all characters. 100% achievements. I'm level 30 on all PS4 characters. I loved what bungie did and stood for. They were in my eyes that last golden studio who cared about fans, but not anymore. There's a lot to like: The game design is beautiful, the soundtrack if fantastic, and the gameplay is tight. But after Luke Smith / Deej comments and the egregious greed on exclusivity and pricing from Bungie/Activision I'm done with it. The over zealousness and cockiness that transpired showed the true colors. They clearly don't care to about us and address the myriad of other issues that are continuously being posted everyday, while Bungie claims to be listening to their fans (thinking about Guardian facial hair implementation is not listening to the major issues). I truly believe from a game environment/design standpoint they have hit a wall in terms of what adjustments and tweaks they can make due to the limitations of the older gen systems. The recent comments from Deej in regards to Year 1 ascended weapons and vault space ( http://youtu.be/s8SwrFn-oZE , skip to the 10:30, 12:20 mark) make my investments in all the work of weapon collecting and ascending moot. ALL THAT HARD WORK for what? Come Sept 15th I will walk away from this game. I'm going to be heartbroken for a bit. This was one of my first exposure to social gaming on this level. Truly addicting experience. I'm really grateful for all the player friends I've made along the way. Hope to play you guys on other triple AAA titles coming this fall and next year.

Edited by SikoSykoThots: 6/25/2015 5:49:53 AMBungie you have destroyed the fun of this game by charging me already $85 day one and now you want $40 more for things that should have already been i the game , third subclass! Now you have the nerve to charge us who payed day one another $20 to get what a new comer can get in an entire package for $80. I am seriously thinking on stopping support of your company.
-
3 RepliesLet me show you some logic here Legendary Edition = $60 Collector's Edition = Legendary Edition + Cosmetic pack Collector's Edition = $80 80 - 60 = 20 $20 difference Only difference is cosmetic pack Cosmetic pack = $20 The More You Know
-
1 ReplyExcept not everyone is going to be using the VIP rewards? Do you all forget that with each Destiny release, ALL your gear, characters, EVERYTHING can be used between all Destinys? So when youre playing Destiny 2 and a new player sees you, theyll ask how and where you got that. Youll just simply state, "For being a vet." And theyll have to awe in glory as its something theyll never ever get in their entire life.
-
1 ReplyThe year one stuff should have been "day one" stuff. Anyone who says otherwise is stupid. Almost everyone playing on 9/15/15 will have the year one stuff. After two weeks nobody will use the shader or emblem. It will be just like the raid shader and emblem. Once you realize EVERYONE has it you lose interest in it. Stop letting Bungie pull the wool over your eyes.
-
5 RepliesI just wanna know if we get the strange coin lol
-
7 RepliesDid you not see the free stuff they gave us or are you just ignoring it so you can bitch to bitch. Or do you not like the fact that bungee gave you an option to buy these items with out also having to spend an extra $20 on old content.
-
6 RepliesYeah worked for revenant. Ok guy
-
I wear the veteran cosmetics with pride knowing i did not fall for these things -The Fluke smith apology -The Pay 20$ for 9 cosmetics A.k.A the failed way of damage controlling -The Red bull scam I stayed through all this bull but i draw the line here If the content for Destiny will continue to be more over priced with more terrible money making gimmicks my legend as a guardian ends here
Now you probably want a good job or a cookie for going through this preach comment that will be 20$ Kappa
-
1 ReplyI wouldn't yet say that DeeJ lied about the "something better" bit. He did state that this was part 1 of 2 in the weekly update. Maybe - hopefully - he will announce what that is in the next installment tomorrow. If he doesn't, then your presumption is right.

2 RepliesHow is it I predicted the reward would be a shader and an emblem? (well part of my prediction is that they would look terrible which they don't imo)
-
2 RepliesAt the very bootom of the update, it said ''To be continued, this is part 1 of a 2 part update, stay tuned tomorrow to find out more''
-
5 RepliesThis is fuking ridiculous! Almost every new forum post is about the price. Even though they lowered it, people are still complaining.
-
2 RepliesAll you did was pick out all the little things and are blowing them up for some odd reason, what are you 10? Guess what buddy if you weren't such a little kid you would have seen that it's only the beginning for them trying to make it up to us year one players. Why thrash on this game so hard when you are and will probably continue to keep playing? I mean is it that you suck so bad in rl that you have to squeeze some sort of satisfaction out of bashing on things that don't need bashed on???
-
3 RepliesAwh, watch the little snowflake (OP) melt down to nothing.
-
3 RepliesI have been defending Bungie for this entire week... But this is correct. I was hoping for something but got greed. They will get my $40 but that is all.
-
4 RepliesOh bump for red bull
