EDIT: here's a nice video to summarize Bungie and their supporters:
http://youtu.be/OfxDX1b5twM
Now give us $20 for the same things in the collectors edition! How's that for EVEN BETTER REWARD? Lol Bungie has truly shown their colors. Deej made a bs reply the other day to attempt to cool everyone down about the Euro interview with Luke Smith and this is all they could deliver.
Oh, wait, but we get an all black shader and sparrow too? Lawl, that's going to be really cool when every single scrub in the game is using it. Gg if you worked for your revenant shader, because now it's worthless.
The $20 is expected, which is a let down to say the least. The bigger let down is that Deej straight up lied about "AN EVEN BETTER REWARD" to get people off their backs while they had to come up with the solution EVERYONE ELSE had all ready thought of. GG Bungie.
OH, and not even a mention about the fact that TTK costs more overseas for a digital good. Guess that "it's foreign to me" comment that Luke Smith made is truly Bungie's outlook on everyone outside of the United States.
EDIT: If Bungie values a few emotes and meaningless items at $20 then what does that tell you they value TTK at $40? $60 vanilla destiny was lacking content from the start and that was $60. I'm baffled that people think a $40 expansion is going to be substantial in any way.
Also, I realize he said there is more to come today, again, which I can only assume will be as lackluster as every other announcement made, but we will see. More than likely it will just be confirming the same shit they already had 3 or 4 times now. Which is just throwing the 'VIP rewards" and telling people that they're special to make them feel good. "Wow, Deej says I'm a special guardian and that I must fight back the darkness, KEWL IM IN!" Lawl. Sheep will be sheep.
The best part about this community is that they are so invested in Destiny that it keeps them from ruining game communities that are actually worth a damn. From the level of toxicity I'd assume 90% of the player base is made up of CoD and Halo kids, both of which will be leaving once BO3 and Halo 5 come out.
Remember when people were let down with vanilla Destiny so Bungie promised to fix it with The Dark Below? Then they didn't. Then they said they would fix all that with The House of Wolves. Then, they didn't. Now they are claiming that The Taken King will fix those problems...and somehow people believe them. You are blind fanboi's who are too overcome with your love for the Bungie that made the Halo franchise to see that they are no longer the company they once were. They have become a part of the Activision/EA/Ubisoft that choose to hype their games to no end to get a high amount of pre-orders so that they have guaranteed money before reviews come out showing the games as lack-luster, often times buggy, messes. Enjoy wasting your money time and time again. It will be fun to check in year 8(if it makes it that far) when they are charging everyone $40 for ghost shells and maybe year 9 another $40 for some weapon shaders.
NEW UPDATE PART 2 IS UP:and just like I said, it tries to sweep the whole issue under the rug by not mentioning it other then "we will later" fuking lawl, take that fanboiz.
Even business insider agrees that Bungie is screwing up:

** Honestly tired of answering the same points over and over again.
Yes, not buying it is a solution. One of which I will be doing.
Yes, other games charge for extra content. Big difference being most of those games weren't slammed for the initial lack of content.
Charging for content in a game whose biggest flaw was its insane lack of content is like a slap in the face. GG, people, gg.**
here come the fanboiz talking about how much money they make and that everyone is entitled
Everything you stated is valid to a degree, there are plenty of people who enjoy the game. I like cause it keeps my mind busy when I'm off duty. Being in the military is stressful, destiny helps with the that stress. Now the pricing of TTK is high in MY opinion there better be a shit load of content when it comes out. I willing to spend the money ( not gonna pre-order shit!) Got burned to many times by AAA games on these next gen consoles. But yeah will get TTK if it lives up to the hype then I'll keep supporting the destiny project, as it takes money to create more content. BUT! that's a huge but, there has to be better content a viable story and a crucible that's not broken. All I can say is we'll see when it comes out what we're dealing with. Bungie has to step it's game up on this next expansion or destiny's 10 year idea is trashed.

4 RepliesEdited by StoneStep 1014: 6/29/2015 1:45:12 PMFirst your link from business insider, whole containing valid points, loses a ton of credibility in two statements. First, the writer says the expansions offered, "a ton of content". Um, not so much. Second, they referred to Deej as Dague. Really? Does no one edit these things??? Edit: apparently that's deej's last name. Missed that

I love destiny but I just bought the handsome collection. That will me by thing until ttk is out and I see what's really on it. If it's as short and lack luster as the others,I will definitely not be purchasing anymore content from them.

Here is the problem. This game was marketed as a game with expansions... Not a microtrans or subscription fee. Hell if it was subscription and keeping up to par With content I would pay it... With all this Bs and customer approach It is pushing guys away.

This is an excellent topic

so, are people being forced to buy the cosmetic items or what? because last time i checked, they didnt effect you in any way, and year 1 players are getting free stuff also. dont buy them if you dont like the price lol
-
21 RepliesLeague of Legends charges $15 for a single skin. Nobody complains and they continue to print money. Bungie charges $20 for 9 cosmetic items and the world is ending. Bungie isn't the problem, the community is. I guess finding value in something isn't hipster enough for all the turds that complain.
-
21 RepliesThe only thing worse than bungie is the ignorance from all these fanboys defending it. You have solid points and just about every reply you get it is "go get a job".."ill spend my $ how i want"...these idiots do not even realize that bungie is shaping the game industry to be even worse for us the gamers. If people keep buying these broken products at launch, chopped up games as dlc's, paying for -blam!-ing shaders and shit, well other companies will follow and we lose.
-
Do we get the hand held content with the $20
-
1 ReplyEdited by GreenD614: 6/26/2015 7:57:50 PMI think the year one stuff is bullshit. It's not real year one rewards. You can buy the game and DLC a week before the deadline and get to level 30 in a day or two and "earn" the year one stuff. That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard of. If it's a true year one reward, nobody will get it unless they bought the game day 1 (or at least the first week of release). That is what they should've done. Then all the millions of people who bought the game for Christmas or after wouldn't get the year one rewards and they would be slightly more rare.

Bump!!! the man speaks the truth
-
2 RepliesSo funny, people will cry about how other games charge so much more for stuff, then you tell them Halo 5 is giving away 20 DLC maps for FREE!!! Silence...I love it.
*throws money at the screen*
-
1 ReplyNo matter what the reward is, everyone will have it then, is that your point?

After playing for a year i realized this game wasnt worth the money i paid i m so burned out i want to play literally anything other then destiny This game just isnt fun anymore the house of wolves content wasny filling enough the weapons are all clones of the same gun, now that you can reroll your weapons thats great. Just fantastic game design its soooooooo fun No No it is not Not to mention competitivr multiplayer is flooded with the last word and thorn, those 2 weapons make all the clones worthless anyways I m burned out and maybe for good this time I got my moneys Worth and i obligated my purchase by seeing it through to house of wolves now i m done if taken king is any good i ll buy that expansion by itself

-
Everytime I think about how much I've paid for lack of content, a reward system, or dedicated servers. I remember that bungie loves us and gave us a purple ball.

1 ReplyMan, even though I agree with many of your points you sound way too mad/apprehensive to say "I'm on your side." You sound as bad as the people arguing for the other side of your argument.
-
3 RepliesIf gamers were smart and see this logic, bungie would be out of business and activision wouldint exist, but 90% of the gaming community are stupid retards that buys everything thrown at them. But you know what, those who are stupid enough to buy this dlc already got bungies dick 10 inches up their ass hole and they ask why they now want deepthroat Luke smith can shove his dlc up where the sun dont shine
-
2 RepliesWho cares, the idiot 12 year olds of this community are going to keep spending their mommies money and Activision is just going to keep charging money. There's no point in arguing.
