I'll start off by saying this is not an attack on die hard gamers! I just want to know how you do it? How do you play so long without being bored? What's your destiny routine? 1000 plus hours is just a estimate of mine which people have said they have played. 1000 hrs on destiny is 41.6 days of playing which is over a month. It's the die hards like you that actually help casual gamers by posting your experiences on in game play.
So in closing what is your life like with so much time playing games? Is it a job? Hobby? Addiction? I'm curious.
Post your hours played.
Post your thoughts.
Post your feelings on how it affects aspects of your life if it does.
Edit: it seems like it's friends! Friends keep you playing! One thing I have noticed is no one wants to post the negatives. This is online I won't bash you or make fun of you for telling the truth. I can't say anything about other people but your behind your phone or computer. They can't actually hurt you.
So elaborate on how your loved ones feel or express their feelings about destiny to you. Or maybe you never asked. Ask
Edit 2: It's amazing how different people are when they play destiny but are actually trying to do the same thing. So much diversity! Destiny definently created a game that either keeps you looking for the next best thing or just frustrated with the mechanics of having to grind out everything to get new items

my hours arent even accurate. ive mained a warlock and a titan was my first ever character since day one but ive deleted them and made new ones. i find grimoire tells experience

1 ReplyI can stop any time!
-
I haven't really played games a lot so when I got destiny back in December it was like, the best thing ever.
-
Nightfall on Tuesday x3 Possibly a raid back when they were relevant on Wednesday Finish raids on Thursday All other days are crucible and helping friends with raids

Edited by SOL Sirloin: 6/19/2015 2:41:01 AM865ish hours or 35 days and honestly the enjoyment and playtime comes directly from the people you play with. If you hang with a** hats then you will burn out but if you chill with some cool people you will feel the hours slipping away.

I think Xbox logged 1700hrs it's more of an addiction/hobby when I'm not with the wife and child or working. My schedule conflicts with theirs so I spend ALOT of time alone and it Deffinitly helps pass the time
-
Idk how many hours I have but its a lot. But it's all about balance I work full time, married and just has a kid. I guess it's all about balance

Medically retired from the army. Broke my back. Lost my daughter in custody. Besides my immediate family this is all I have left of what use to be my life.
-
1300 hours and I stopped playing 2 weeks ago I keep coming back to check the taken king dlc to see what it offers
-
I was close till I got a job. I was un employed from September to February enough to get all characters to 32 before I started my new job lol now only have one 34 and play a few hours a week
-
I think I'm addicted. I just finished my degree but somehow found countless hours to invest into destiny.
-
My routine- start Bounty's. Do the daily. PoE Raids Then when I'm done. I help people on destinylfg.net

Edited by Reaper72983: 6/19/2015 2:37:13 AMI've played roughly 20 days (480 hrs.), and I would say i'm addicted to gaming. 1K hours on a single game is just ridiculous imo. I even my time out among multiple different games on multiple platforms. Playing one game that much would end up making me throw the game away out of boredom.
-
Time killer. If I'm not studying for Uni, getting drunk as -blam!-, or working; I'm doing nightfalls and weeklies and trials and all the other fun stuffs.
-
I have 83 days of play time. Around 2200 hours. I grinded for a gally til 1500 hours. Never got it. With nearly 300 raid wins. The last 99.9% of the last 700ish hours have been spent in the crucible. Pve bores me to death. I have every exotic except a gally still but the last week. I might have played maybe 10 hours. That's a maybe.
-
2200 hours here. Still having fun. Helping people, playing with friends, trying to get better at pvp, speedrunning, etc.

2 RepliesEdited by Boston Patriot: 6/19/2015 12:27:25 AMIm somewhere in the 1100 range. I like to play games as a hobby. I stopped going out on weekends. Prefer to play games and destiny is the one I like the most. Also vog used to be a 5 hour ordeal in the beginning. I work full time, no kids and take time to work on my car and keep it clean. I'm a simple man. Movies, cars and video games.

720 hours :(
-
1 ReplyLol idk how 1000 is even possible. I thought a couple days is a ton.
-
1 ReplyMy play time is impossible to account for due to the number of rerolled character I have done (I like to level). But I have so much time cause I have no life lol. No gf, no job, no friends, no hobbies, no other game that I haven't already beaten out with the same number of people that play. All my waking hours go into destiny.
-
I have 1000+ hours on a couple games. I just get into this "cycle", where I play the shit out of the game for a couple months. Switch to a new game, do the same, switch back.
-
Edited by Brockon1: 6/19/2015 12:38:46 AMI'm getting close and for me it's just what I love to do! Video games are my jam and I don't have much money so Destiny has definitely given me a lot for what I paid. I'm also addicted to loot games lol I also have more hours because I've deleted level 30's (before tdb) and a level 32 (before HoW) lol
-
It's my upmost passtime. From browsing Planet Destiny on break time, listening to Guardian Radio on my way to work, playing the game, or browsing Reddit and Bnet while cooking and cleaning. It's pretty safe to say Bungie's plan for world domination has gotten to me. Still waiting for that Elder's Edition of TTKing that comes without D1 and the first Exp-Pass. (some third party retailer tried putting it up before it got taken down just minuets later)
-
Ever since I got the game I can't stop playing it
-
Not reached 1000 yet, only 844. Gaming has always been a big passtime (possibly addiction for me), but in regards to destiny its the friends ive made online that keep me playing. Messing around makes time fly
-
Just friends. Messing around with my comrades in gaming is the only reason I play it. Else I'd be on Dragon Age A LOT more often.
