I'll start off by saying this is not an attack on die hard gamers! I just want to know how you do it? How do you play so long without being bored? What's your destiny routine? 1000 plus hours is just a estimate of mine which people have said they have played. 1000 hrs on destiny is 41.6 days of playing which is over a month. It's the die hards like you that actually help casual gamers by posting your experiences on in game play.
So in closing what is your life like with so much time playing games? Is it a job? Hobby? Addiction? I'm curious.
Post your hours played.
Post your thoughts.
Post your feelings on how it affects aspects of your life if it does.
Edit: it seems like it's friends! Friends keep you playing! One thing I have noticed is no one wants to post the negatives. This is online I won't bash you or make fun of you for telling the truth. I can't say anything about other people but your behind your phone or computer. They can't actually hurt you.
So elaborate on how your loved ones feel or express their feelings about destiny to you. Or maybe you never asked. Ask
Edit 2: It's amazing how different people are when they play destiny but are actually trying to do the same thing. So much diversity! Destiny definently created a game that either keeps you looking for the next best thing or just frustrated with the mechanics of having to grind out everything to get new items

Edited by diaboliC NOR: 6/19/2015 12:30:42 PMI think i am close to 1000 hours.. Played almost everyday since release. I have 7 IRL friends that also still plays.. if they quit, i dont think i would play it either:) I have a good job, working full time. I am close too 30 years old. I workout 2 hours a day, at the gym or i go hiking on the mountain with my dog.. I am also very social.. But i always have room for at least 2 hours destiny in the evening.. I guess i have been a "nerd" since Halo 1 was released.

1 ReplyEdited by Reclaimer: 6/19/2015 12:12:11 PM42 Days on my Hunter. I had deleted and restarted my Titan and Warlock while they both had about 9 days each on them. First, I'll start with the "How". I'm a college student who was working part-time in an apartment with two roommates until late last year. Mother and Father paid my portion of the rent, as long as I maintained a good GPA. Had to quit my job to prepare for a temporary move to Alabama for a year (my father grew ill, and I stayed out here while he was treated). The "Why" I've never been a social butterfly, not because I'm not a people person, but because I'm naturally introverted. I prefer alone time more often than not. I'm also a very avid gamer. It's the cornerstone of all my hobbies. I'm also a huge Halo fan, and by extension, a sci-fi fan. I also looooove collecting gear in RPGs, like Fallout. I had been looking for something like Halo x Fallout for a while, and Destiny was a nice fit (albeit imperfect). The Hunter (Gunslinger) fit my style-in terms of play style and appearance-in every way. Bounty seeker. Marksman. Outlaw. Wanderer. Nomad. Agility-based. Reclaimant of lost worlds and treasures (hence the PSN name). Which typically how I like most my RPG characters, ever since I played New Vegas and saw NCR Veteran Rangers. Who can resist being in the shoes of a futuristic cowboy? The concept sounded cool to me. Blade Dancer? Nahhh... I'm a marksman, not a space ninja. Put me in a game where I can create my own character, grab and use the guns I find, tailor a playing style to match my character, then pit that character against other players, and I'm happy. Destiny was a nice escape from reality. After my father passing, the time I spent hanging out with my best friend (who I could no longer hang out with since the move) and the time I spent off of Destiny with my family has kept my spirit and level of happiness strong. Listening to music fit for adventuring, PvP combat, and roaming through the various activities of this game is very, very enjoyable.

I don't no how to check (someone tell me please ) I play a lot tho, I work 5-6 days a week, play footy (nrl) with training 2 nights a week, and maintain a gf I play usually when I get home I consider it resting (as it is in my bedroom ) so I lay in bed playing destiny

Over 2500 on 5 characters

I liken it to meeting with friends at the pub. You sit, take a drink and discuss the issues of the day (whilst firing at blobs of pixels). And just like going to the pub, your better half is nagging at you for not spending more time on other things.
-
It's all about having friends. Having friends who play the game as much as you makes it so much more fun to do anything.
-
Playing with friends. If I didn't have friends who play this I probably would have ditched it as soon as I finished the story
-
2 RepliesI listen to sweet tunes while running bounties and stuff

I'm at 2000 hours but I play because it feels nice to help noobs level up

Currently at 1020 between all of the characters that I have right now. I've also deleted a couple that had at least a week a piece on them.

2 weeks plz help

almost 1800. it was easier back then to grind. now its way too easy. for instance, it took people weeks/months to reach lvl 30 and i know people who never even reached it before TDB. not it takes someone about 2 days to reach 32 maybe even 34. i ve seen people that are 34 and never done a hm raid, I've seen people with 1500 grimoire as a lvl 33. but now i just play to show people the way through raids. i do challenges to make things hard. i do fog raids with only 29 or 30 gear as a team. pvp is always fun, so TOO is always great to look forward for. I'm a hard core end game gear/weapon collector. i have to have multiple setups for armor. so i can have 100%int and dis at all time or very close(100 and 97 for the other.) so whatever exotic i switch around i must have those stats. same with all my vog and crota gear for the extra bonus damage or perks. still working on poe. need different perks, but stats are fine. all my weapons are 365 now working on 2nd set so i don't have to switch. i have all 3 classes all 34. raiding took up must of my time, since i have over 500 raid completions. so i love helping people through it, especially conflux.

Edited by Liondemiases: 6/19/2015 4:00:35 AMOver 1700 hrs, unhh it's like a addiction and a job, but playing with friends makes it funnier, we challenge one another and have fun doing the different task bungie sets for us even though it does get ignoring at times..

Friends Man U can't do it with out friends
-
The quest for loot, plain and simple. Xbox has me at 1600 or something hours, but that includes idling when I forget to exit, but its a big number I've played... Loot is why I've played Destiny, Diablo III and Borderlands so much.
-
Crucible mostly. When dlc comes out takes me awhile to get stuff because i dont rush completing it.
-
Before how: Nightfall x3 Vault of glass x3 Crota x3 Pvp After how: Nightfall x3 Skolas x3 Trials x3 Pvp there are so any guns to try out and enjoy in pvp I haven't tried them all yet.

2 RepliesCan someone tell me how many hours I have? Or how to check?
-
Crucible. If I didn't play mostly crucible I would get bored of the same encounters with the same behaviours over and over again.
-
I play for fun. (And with friends)
