I'll start off by saying this is not an attack on die hard gamers! I just want to know how you do it? How do you play so long without being bored? What's your destiny routine? 1000 plus hours is just a estimate of mine which people have said they have played. 1000 hrs on destiny is 41.6 days of playing which is over a month. It's the die hards like you that actually help casual gamers by posting your experiences on in game play.
So in closing what is your life like with so much time playing games? Is it a job? Hobby? Addiction? I'm curious.
Post your hours played.
Post your thoughts.
Post your feelings on how it affects aspects of your life if it does.
Edit: it seems like it's friends! Friends keep you playing! One thing I have noticed is no one wants to post the negatives. This is online I won't bash you or make fun of you for telling the truth. I can't say anything about other people but your behind your phone or computer. They can't actually hurt you.
So elaborate on how your loved ones feel or express their feelings about destiny to you. Or maybe you never asked. Ask
Edit 2: It's amazing how different people are when they play destiny but are actually trying to do the same thing. So much diversity! Destiny definently created a game that either keeps you looking for the next best thing or just frustrated with the mechanics of having to grind out everything to get new items

1200 hours about. I kept playing three characters a day, doing all the vanguard bounties, for a long time. All I was trying to accomplish was acquiring all of the rewards Dead Orbit had to offer. After I got them all, I cut my time in half easy. These days, Trials is what keeps me around, and that's pretty much it. It's still fun with friends. Not too much fun solo.

Edited by AJIc3CoLd: 6/19/2015 2:52:02 PMThere was a lot to pursue before. Now, I can't stand the game but there isn't anything else to play. The forums are more entertaining than the game.

2000 hours. I play to pvp. I PvE to get gear to pvp. When I'm bored of pvp, I use different weapons. When I'm bored of pvp I use no weapons. my most recent montage http://youtu.be/FthcugA4s1Q

Edited by kgnast: 6/19/2015 2:46:47 PMI play when there's stuff to do, or if I'm bored I'll run pvp. Just picked up the last elder cipher from Variks. 1000pts, get the LoW, run around w some bounties, level it up, and go have some fun w it. These days I'm focusing on pvp, building up the medal score. Closing in on 7 figures.

Somewhat of a job. There have been times where I felt compelled to do nightfall x3, weekly x3, hard and normal Crota x3, Hard VoG x3, at a minimum every week plus leveling gear which used to be a grind. Not so much now, I have nearly everything, all raid weapons/armor, all exotic weapons minus a couple of the new elder cipher ones. I have tons of coins, don't need etheric light. Really only Poe trying to get the two remaining ciphers and do nightfalls if friends are on and want to. Play much less now.

Play 3 hours every night with friends back home when I'm working on the road and being laid off during the winter really did a good toll on my 850 hours

Edited by nomorbountisXP: 6/19/2015 2:13:53 PMIt's a combination of these factors: I live for FPS I love sci fi I am a collector I have read the grimoire and actually like the story I have found SO many friends playing this game I like showing off my new cool shit no one has yet...which means I have to have it first I enjoy helping others get through end game content (trials excluded... I'm being helped over there;) I am a graphics nut and continue to marvel at Destiny and the graphics engine. Even still on patrol I like shooting stuff for crits and watching it explode REPEAT! Also, if your looking at my playtime, I deleted 1 character recently and started a new one so the old stats don't show. Last I looked was around 1000 hours and that was a while ago.

8 RepliesI have a nerve disease that leaves me exhausted and housebound most of the time. I lost alot of friends because of it and therefore don't have much of a social life. It also makes me suffer with extreme anxiety and while I'm playing Destiny I forget the world for a bit,I get totally absorbed in the game and forget I'm even ill. Plus I get to talk to people,it's a way for me to socialise when normally I couldn't do that. It helps to keep me going.☺

Everytime its starts getting boring i discovered something new to explore. Like different rolls on weapons i want to try and compare, using different subclasses for pvp… Bungie did a good job in timing new releases. They just came when there was nothing left do to. As they did streams for HoW i was like: OMG, i need to farm the shit out of Wolfpack chests, go for as much motes of light as possible, and do the Raids again for trading the materials.

2100 hours. I didn't have a job for four months, then was in school (that left me lots of time), and now I play a bit less. I'm still married, and successful, and have s life other than gaming. But I play way too much Destiny. It's sort of an addiction/habit. But once I have everything again my play time will die off. For now I'm just playing clash on my titan trying to get my scrub kd up.

Just over 1300 hrs here. I love the grinding games. I am a completionist at heart, so I guess it's part addiction. And, except for the select few on these forums, I for the most part meet alot of good people in the game. Which I haven't really found in other multiplayers out there, ie: COD/ BATTLE, ect. I am really excited for Star Wars this fall though! Hope it might take some of my time.

Just shy of 1000 hours. I play to play with friends. When they aren't on I play Crucible. I see no reason to buy another game when I still enjoy this one so I keep playing it. Also, there are still exotics I don't have.
-
some of us like playing grinding games.
-
Destiny is fun..it's different. I'm maybe around 1200-1300 hours now. A lot of people I've met on this game are part of the reason I still play.
-
I help out my clan a lot & when I'm not doing that, I'll play crucible. do trials, raids, PoE, bounties, level up weapons. I just have fun playing with friends
-
2 RepliesI had my hours before HoW. I had a bunch of raiding teams. I was actually excited to log on and help people do Nightfalls and Raid. No raid means I'm not doing anything. People fell off. My hours have stood still. The game has died for the people I knew. Maybe 3 still play. Maybe.
-
I work and go to school but in the Evenings I play just hit 1000 hours it's all about WHO you play with this game isn't good at all if you play with jerks but you find some cool people and become friends with them and this is the best game you could ever play
-
A good clan with decent people you can have a laugh with always helps
-
2 RepliesI am closing in on 2000 total hours, still love the game. I am older, so maybe I have poor short term memory. Lol
-
About 1000 hours, and I'm in a really cool laid back helpful clan. We still raid and laugh and have a good time!
-
where do i find hours playeD?
-
Yeah friends.... It's why I haven't made my transition over to ps4 despite having one.
-
I have over 1700hrs and loving every minute of it, can't see me playing anything else for years. Destiny is like a wife, once you find the perfect one, you don't look any where else :)

1 Replyclose to 1500.. I''d only play about 10 hours a week.. Then got into a clan and started grinding raids, nightfalls ect.. Its time consuming. I loved it for a bit.. But now its pretty pointless.. I have everything the game can offer. But some clan members don't. So I stick around in hopes to help them get gear. It can be fun still.. Crucible is still fun but not as fun as it used to be.. I usually get annoyed quickly cause of the thorn users, so I stick around to kill the bastard that kills and teabags. Which can take up more time then I'd like. I am blown away I spent more then 100 hours on this game. I love space and this game has a great touch of that. Waiting for dark souls 3, dead space 4 and red dead redemption 2, when they are out this game will go on the back burner for a year or two.

I try to get off the game all the time, but my friends keep bringing me back on it.
