Oh I thought you meant infinite maps as in, different areas to play in. Ok let me rethink :-P

  • I should have done a better job explaining it at first.

  • Lol, well someone else gave a really good response to another similar post, so I'm going to use it too. You have no access to your ghost, so no sparrow/return to orbit except from the spot you spawn into the map.

  • Getting away from Dinklebot?! That would be a plus in my book... The sparrow, not so much.

  • It also means you have to walk all the way back to spawn if you want to return to orbit :-P

  • Now that you mention it it kinda sounds like the premise from No Man's Sky.

  • I think you can still short cut to your ship in that though lol. Otherwise it's going to make for a few multi-hour sessions being lost on a planet because you forgot where you parked :-D

  • I guess if that were to be implemented it would also mean some form of tracking for your spawn point would be necessary to be able to go back but having a nice impromptu mission to explore the uncharted areas surrounded by random enemies seems very interesting. My guess is that most of us would not venture too far at a time to avoid the massive back-tracking, I'm thinking that some sort of mini outposts could be randomly placed allowing you to summon your ghost could also help. This is of course veering so far from what Destiny is about as to be nearly impossible to realize but its fun to think about the possibilities.

  • Well, now we're moving off topic lol. Still I'm keeping my ear to the ground for 'No Mans Sky' info, but I also heard rumour that 'Elite: Dangerous' was being ported to consoles so that could be interesting too. So far this generation of consoles has been very disappointing (not rubbish, just not what was expected), with a few pleasant surprises thrown in. Here's hoping 2015 marks the start of a much better time for gaming :-)
