The vendor gear available without DLC gets you to a higher level than the non DLC content caps at. Why would you need to be level 34 to run VoG and 32 nightfalls?

You can still win a bunch of activities without the DLC. Raids, nightfalls, strikes, story missions, crucible, tower dancing, tower kickball, just to name a few. And you know the best part? I've done all of those before I hit level 32. Yessir you read that correctly, I did all of those when I was level 31, which by the way, vendors sell gear to hit 31. Pay to access or pay to play might be more accurate, but pay to win is definitely not accurate because you don't get anything for hitting max level not even a pat on the back or a good job kiddo.

The raid gear and weapons are not available to people who don't buy the DLC but these people can still get great weapons. They can use IB to reach max level too. Sure the raid stuff is cooler but it is geared towards raid not crucible or traditional pVE. All you are missing is a level man.
