Why is thorn considered a noob weapon?
It takes two 3 headshots to kill. What's wrong with the user using the weapons exotic perk? If that's the reason it's nobody then Hawkmoon is nooby, gjallarjorn is nooby, every exotic weapon is nooby. I don't see why there is all the hate.

Edit 2: Some people say it's nooby and I can see how they can think that. But it is an exotic and it's a little hard to get. Also 330 relies!

its generally considered a " noob " weapon by those on the receiving end, who themselves have no experience using hand cannons, despite what they will tell you. No handcannon makes you a crucible god, even hawkmoon which is considered to be the pinnacle of hand cannons has a learning curve, but can still be out gunned by someone who knows what they are doing. Now, IMO handcannons reward skill the most so someone who has mastered one will definitely stand out. Thorn just happens to be ( again, imo ) the next best overall hand cannon next to hawkmmon and it some select cases and individuals; better. I went from using a shingen E- to thorn because it was my first usable exotic and I really felt like I earned it after the bounty quest.To this day its still my go to gun for doing work, beating out even Ghorn for my exotic slot 90% of the time. Overall, any weapon will rock in the right hands. ( except nechrochasm )

8 RepliesIt has a 2 shot kill potential but none of the drawbacks of other weapons. Hawkmoon - luck based bullet. The last word - no range, requires hip fire Red death - slow Rof and it needs both bursts to fully connect And gjallahorn is nooby because you should be using truth if using an exotic slot on a heavy weapon.

Hawkmoon is ridiculously noobish and overpowered, i oneshotted a hunter activating gunslinger due to its perk stacking on one bullet, no complaints but Thorn takes all the complaints away from Hawkmoon

It's annoying for me to be on a kill streak then get shot twice and killed by burn . Also, if you think it's hard to get your not very good, my friend got it the day he picked up the bounty...

All I know is I'm a solid crucible player and don't have the thorn but when I got on my friends xbox and used it there was no mistaking how easy it is to do well with it. Went on a 13 kill streak. "Nooby"? Idk exactly how to define that word but is the gun challenging to use, no way. You basically kill the opposing player in 1-2 less shots if your have decent accuracy.

I like to use all my primary guns: red hand, fate bringer, time on target, mida... But when iron banner rolls around, Thorn is definitely my go to weapon.

Now everyone is using it cause of the buff. Noobs. Just like pre pulse rifle buff. Now everyone is on them because they needed help via bungie to manage a kill with them :|

Why it is seen as a Noob weapon is because of the "2 Body shots, then run away" people, which in fact is hilarious and pathetic at the same time. The fact that it outranges my MIDA annoys me :-)

its not that its nooby, it is the after burn that gets me annoyed but i sometimes tend to survive it which is sweet, i have a thorn but i dont use it cause im not a handcannon fan no more, and im leaning towards the auto rifle again with the Necrochasm
