Why don't people raid?
If you're not raiding, explain why not and what are you doing in Destiny. There's not much to do in the game including raids as it is. I'm just curious.
Edit: Seems most don't have a group or found people patient enough to help them through the raids. It's good to see people lending a hand. I just took someone new from this thread through crota last night. He got some good drops and is looking forward to raid some more of. We are gonna do vog as well. 3 RepliesIt's overly technical and not accessible for the average player. The gear requirements and specific maneuvers / strategy make it more of a procedure only for elite players. It's great that the elite and hardcore have a challenge but the other 80% are basically blocked from doing it because of a combination of difficulty and poor sportsmanship from high level hardcores

While I understand it and it is their group their rules, finding a group for those less experienced such as myself becomes almost impossible. Soo strikes and pvp.

1 Reply-I prefer playing solo mostly. -Nightfall and weekly heroic are the perfect group size for me. -I'm not the walkie-talkie type of player. -I'd like to take my time playing. -Level 31 gear is more than enough to complete any non-raid mission. -In the time it takes to complete a raid, I can complete nightfall, weekly and daily heroics, Erin bounties and normal bounties. Without the frustration of dying so many times. -I played World of Warcraft for years. I guess I have a different basic concept and idea about raids. What? An old dog cannot learn new tricks.

2 RepliesIt's just not the kind of thing I am good at. I've played Halo forever, but I never did like the headset call and command thing. I'm bad at it and don't really like being told what to do. Plus I often play late at night when my wife is sleeping, so I'm not going to sit there yelling into a headset and waking her up. Typically, I play Crucible and do various bounties and sometimes strikes. I have fun, although there seems to be a lot of repetition. Even so, there still things I have not done and every now and then something new to me pops up. To give you an idea how bad I am: I have never done a strike at any difficulty level where I did not die. I cannot kill Urzok the Hated, so no progress on the urn thing. I become disoriented and die a lot during heroic challenges. I fall off cliffs quite often. I don't feel a strong urge to win or "beat" the game. Que sera sera con Destiny.

38 RepliesEdited by leigull: 3/17/2015 1:17:13 PMIf you're on PS4 and you'd like to raid more often, and don't want the hassle and unreliability of finding your own group each time, check out the xAllegiancex clan on here and www.xallegiancex.com. We're a growing clan with approx 35-45 raids scheduled each week (including Crucible runs) across most timezones (mainly US and Europe). We run training raids specifically for new people to get to grips with each raid, have it all explained fully and run through a few times, or you can just join in a normal raid and it will all get explained to you too. We stream a lot of raids on Twitch as well. Let me know if any one is interested and wants more info :)

I always try to look for a group but never come up successful. I'm on Xbox one and gt is above for anyone that's interested. :D

Day one here, always raid on both. Always willing to help. Took a group of 24 and 25 through vog the other day. They were so thankful. I explained they didn't need to be as i was in their shoes once. Don't mind doing a daily good deed. Add me, markangloswede

4 RepliesWell, mostly because crota is lame as -blam!-, and so is the armor and weapons. VoG was awesome, but now it's pretty much pointless. I'll probably raid a lot more when HoW drops. I hope the armor is sexy!

Not sure if anyone else does this, but if I'm doing a ROC strike through matchmaking and I see that I;m working well with one of the people on my fire team I'll send them an friend request after we finish. Some of the best people I play with now are from that "strategy". And my raid team that I play with the most came from that. Just an idea if people are having trouble finding friends to raid/nightfall/crucible with. I'm on PS4 gt is same as above feel free to add me, just leave a note in the comments saying you saw this post and I'll approve it.

My brother has been playing since day one he has never been in a raid because his internet was not good enough he would always lag out,luckily he has just moved and his internet is great he just has know one to raid with.

I raid VoG each weekend if I'm playing Destiny and frequently find groups through the forums. I'll frequently run across players new to raiding and I think it's great and I'm glad a lot of people still run the VoG. I think a lot of players don't want to take the time to use methods outside of,the game to find groups. While I don't think it's hard to find groups, I see why that would be a turn off to many people.

I raid, sometimes, mostly when I can find people to raid with, but the reason I even do Crotas End raid is for the armor. Now that the iron banner is out I don't even have to raid.

Despite the community coming up with tons of great ideas to fix the issues with match making, there is still no match making. I can get 3-4 people easy, and sometimes 5. I'm always missing at least 1 person. Always. It became such an un-fun and time consuming burden to fill slots that I realized I was spending more of my free time trying to start a raid than I was actually raiding. So I quit.
