Are us pve'ers ever going to get another option to get #thorn
I absolutely despise pvp but want thorn......I can never get my point total above 30. is there ever going to be another option to get thorn?

2 RepliesSoloing Xyor was the most challenging and most rewarding activity in this game. IMHO Thorn is a badass gun that deserves to be locked behind tasks too difficult for non-completionists. Trust me, when you finally get there, it's going to feel like winning a championship - don't rob yourself of the accomplishment! I only wish the Gjallarhorn was earnable too... :-/

I used Atheon's Epilogue, and a void Comedian. It doesn't take long as long as you use all void weaponry.

I don't have it yet but I appreciate that it's hard to get. People can't expect to get everything they want. If you can't get it the way it's set up to obtain than you don't get it, it's that simple.

I suck at crucible and i finished it, and i had no friends at the time so i had no solid team. I used athions and corective and i think i had some kind of void fusion rifle.

16 RepliesYup, this requirement for this bounty just makes me dislike PvP even more than I did previously. About as much fun as a trip to the dentist. And most of the suggestions on how to get through it refer to using primary weapons that are a rare drop from raids that a lot of people just don't have the free time or team members to try and get. I'm sure Bungie keeps track of which bounties are discarded. I'm guessing this one is number 1.

Everytime I have gotten the bounty, I was on my warlock, so I got really lucky Get a couple of buddies and destroy some rumble games

I never play pvp except for exotic bounties and I suck at pvp but I finished my thorn bounty in 11 matches bought a crappy blue void shotgun from the gunsmith and after sucking for about 4 or 5 matching debating whether or not to give up on the bounty I started getting better at pvp by the 6th match and then just started destroying everything I figured out that about 80 percent of all pvp players just suck I mean suck really bad my strategy was go into a match if I died immediately about 3 or 4 times without a kill I would leave and join a different match just keep at it man search the matches for the ones you can handle you'll get better the more you play

1 ReplyI think if whoever had Thorn so far sucked it up and did that bounty, so should everyone else. I suck at pvp. It took me forever. But I got it done.

Thorn is mostly a pvp gun anyway though. Just take a void sniper, atheons epilogue or word of crota, void machine gun

I thought the same. Hate Crucible. So I did what any self-respecting guardian would do. Blinkdancer invisible void sniper. Worked good for me.

Yeah get word of crota, LDR sniper and truth or a heavy with void. Takes no time at all.

I've been waiting to get a void primary to attempt. I just got word of crota so as soon as I get it maxed I'll be working on the thorn bounty. I'll use my titan with void grenade.

Wasn't that bad with VoG weapons, you just need to play more cautious. Atheons epilogue/WoC, praedeths revenge, corrective measure/Truth. I'm an average PvP player, far from the best and I got it done in a few days, probably 4-5 hours total in crucible. Do control so you know where people will be headed too, found that to be the easiest.

It's not easy for us crappy pvp'ers. I got 2 thorn bounties done. One with hunter one with titan. Sharded the 2nd thorn. My kd is horrible and since the patch ive noticed i'm even worse. It would take me a lifetime to get another thorn

1 ReplyGet word of crota or Athens apologe and u willl do fine even if ur not in the 99% blink-shot noob category that makes up the crucible "it takes skill to one shot point blank unscoped guys" lol right and pigs fly

Just wait until Tuesday and the Inferno game mode will drop. You will need a Word of Crota or Atheon's Epilogue, a Void Fusion Rifle or a shotgun, and a Void Heavy. While playing Inferno, just camp a random corner near the B flag and kill your enemies when they run past you. Move to a different corner after each kill. Rinse and repeat and you'll have your Thorn in no time.

Are pvpers gonna get another option to get the thorn? All the exotic bounties take pve and pvp to get.

Pvp sucks but this bounty didn't take long. I used predyths revenge and one of my void machine guns. I completed it in about 15 matches. I also was blessed with really good sniper maps. Control is your best game type for the bounty IMO.

Seriously i did this week TWO of the game. On a hunter with nothing but.a void shotgun!
