Don't believe a word bungie says about "learning from the mistakes of
Te dark below", they're raising the attack stats on all weapons again, meaning we're going to have to do yet another upgrade
On our exotic weapons, it's pathetic how low bungie will stoop to increase people's play time, this sucks
Edit: the problem with these expansions Is every time one of them drops, all of the weapons we have become completely useless in pve compared to
The newer ones, let's
Be honest here who still uses
Shadow price in pve when they could
Use up or anything which has a 331 max attack compared to a 300 or
Whatever it was, same with crucible guns, I like the idea of having a fresh set of
Guns every dlc, but
That doesn't mean they should go and make our previous ones obsolete, same
Goes for
Raid gear

I still use fatebringer.
-
The only place the weapons have become useless in are the new raids, everything else so far has been level 30 and below. And even then I still rock the fatebringer over any other gun in most of Crota's End.

Edited by Itachi91422: 2/22/2015 4:36:47 PMWell obviously they are going to raise attack. What made you think that we will be able to preform at full capacity at 34 with 331 weapon? The process in which they did it was tedious but I didn't mind too much about grinding my gear again. Also your problem is you use a AR in PVE, and shadow price is still relevant as it's still my ideal gun for PVP and even the new iron banner.

6 RepliesHave you ever stopped to actually look at the difference of a shot from a 331 and a 300 weapon? I was playing around with IB when Xur sold them and on critical hits there was like 30 pts difference per atk pt on top end damage tables... that's critical hits though. Take 1/5 of that for body shots and you are talking 6 pts per atk... Just a measly 186 pts. That's not enough to invalidate a weapon. Fatebringer and VoC are still quite viable weapons in TDB right now @ 300 atk... If weapons jump to 364 atk in HoW then a 300 might be low dps, all depends on health of a lvl 36/37 enemy though. Also, Bungie has already stated that they know they goofed on re-leveling exotics from scratch and that they have something new in store that won't feel like we are starting over with our exotics.

It's an MMO-style game. That's 100% normal.
-
They were just testing the stats without giving away the items

3 RepliesEdited by Badone: 2/22/2015 9:10:01 AMYes the legendary will become less useful, but the exotics will not need to be "completely" re upgraded, it will just be another damage boost in the last tier. Costing one more exotic shard. And who the -blam!- uses legendary weapons that aren't raid weapons?
-
My GF uses her shadow price, it has field scout so it's still very usable, the old raid weapons are very usable, and I still use my fusion rifle from the 2nd IB....old but gold my friend
-
No -blam!-ing shit. They have to raise the attack for it to feel like progression. Maybe they have something else up their sleeves with how they will handle exotics.
-
Bro, have you never played an MMO before? That concept is a principal in all MMOs.
-
6 RepliesYes we should keep weapons at the same damage so they become absolutely useless. That's just -blam!-ing crazy. Atleast it's not like other mmos where old gear doesn't even have the option of upgrading, it just becomes useless gear. You are so smart ermergrrd plz keep posting dribble
-
Wahhh wahhh wahhhh
-
2 Replies300 guns are still easily usable now. I've seen a lot of shadow prices in iron banner lately and I wish I hadn't deleted mine for an up for anything. Hell 300 damage guns will probably be useful in HoW too. A lot of damage has to do with light level anyways.
-
The enemies will be above 33 so of course the attack will be raised
-
10 RepliesFor -blam!-s sake. This happens in EVERY MMORPG "destiny isn't an mmo but still" And you people complain about it happening in deatiny. Seems like people are looking for reasons to complain. It's a video game people. If you can handle a simple attack buff. Maybe you shouldn't be playing. VOG weapons will be usless with the 365 damage but crota weapons will still be very usable. Just like how vog weapons are still usable now.
-
Honestly Raid weapons are the best PVE options available (FB, BH, HoC, CM). So the new raid guns will become king for every new DLC/raid release.

1 ReplyOf course you're going to have to re-level your weapons. What's probably going to happen is when you re-level your exotic it is leveled up to the second perk.
-
17 RepliesI'm glad, a 365 Gjallahorn and a 365 Icebreaker will destroy.

7 RepliesThis is what happens in MMO's... With every expansion or DLC max level goes up. So does the max damage you can do. Almost every MMO follows that structure. Your old guns may be obsolete, but there are new weapons you can use to fill its place. That's why they refreshed the weapons vendors. Also, in crucible, everything lives forever. It's not like that shadow price is completely useless. I've accepted it. Because if you have played an MMO before, you know this is how it goes. The upgrade system, not so much. (Would have rather had another 10-15 completely new exotics than the 2 shitty ones we got and the upgrade system. Easier to grind for 2.0 drops) Levels and damage always go up, that's what keeps you playing. Why? Because it's the same reason you played the game before DLC: To get to max level, and do the most damage possible. It's not a cheap thing to do, because there is precedent of it being done in the industry. TL;DR In the wise words of Ray from Trailer Park Boys
"That's just the way she goes, bubs"
Translation: That's just what happens. Deal with it.

1 ReplyI don't know about you.. But I don't feel like using my fatebringer for the next 6 months or a year etc... New weapons keep the game fresh.. And upping stats and levels is how you encourage people to keep playing... But some just enjoy being top level and feel its a hassle to keep looking cool.. Those people should not be catered to IMO..
-
Eh, they could A)Just stick a node or two on the end to allow you the new damage threshold (or do the same reset, but keep perks unlocked while moving damage nodes right) B)Have the exotics just get a stat change patch The upgrade was obnoxious because it was a total reset of all the perks on the weapon to have to redo. I don't think anyone minded having to unlock those other three damage nodes for the boost so much as having to redo the all the rest of the weapons progress.
-
Well in the long run you'll have more exotic shards than you'll know what to do with if you keep running raids and stuff. So the upgrade isn't that big of an issue imo.
-
Sweet one less xmas noob for H.O.W good luck playing cod.

1 ReplyGuess you don't understand what a damage cap is. Only place in the game a 331>300 damage is in the Crota Raid. All enemies level 30 and below will only take the max damage of a 300 gun. A 331 Ice Breaker does the exact same damage as a 300 max Ice Breaker in Vault of Glass.. Also the difference is sub 10% no where near enough to make the 300 class weapons useless. I still rock my Fate on all 3 characters!
