What K/D Ratio is Respectable?
What's the minimal KD ratio that you say, "meh, he's not bad." I avg. like 1.2-1.5 so anything over is A-OK to me lol.
Edit: I see very strong KDs from people commenting.. What setups work best, for you?
Edit2: So several people have suggested that the best way to judge your overall status in PvP, rather than KDr, is by using Destinytracker.com to view your DTR and such. My Crucible Summary is listed:
DTR: 16 - High Skill
Kills: Top 7%
Assists: Top 6%
Deaths: Top 6%
My KD and Win% are not worth mentioning but you are welcome to check yourself, if so inclined. I am curious what others are ranked? And what now is considered "good" according to DTR?
Edit3: 400 responses. Woot woot. Overall consensus seems to be anything positive means you're helping your team win. Lots of people consider KD irrelevant..still debating that one.

K/D doesn't really mean anything (providing you can make a kill) as long as you have half a brain when playing. I've witnessed people with good K/D's on many occasions and probably being the reason for their team losing, kill whoring isn't always the answer 8-)

I don't normally do well in fps on console but I think I have a 1.3 kd. Last night I hopped on skirmish for a few matches. Led team both times I think, 4.o first match, 2.0 the 2nd. 2nd game I was on the team of people I had just beaten lol.

I've done Thorn a few times now and everytime I go through that my KD just crashes. Not to mention if I'm working on some pointless bounty that results in me playing stupid. Not to mention all of my buddies basically despise crucible so I'm always playing solo and having quality team mates is a huge boost to KD if your constantly playing with a good team of people that probably adds 0.5 KD on its own right there. I've got no idea what that DTR skill means but I went and looked mine says its - 32 but all I know is sometimes I can go off and run all night at over a 2.0 and then some nights I can't crack 1.0 I've not played much crucible since the last IB because i burned out so I'm sure I'll suffer some butt wooping over the next few days.

6 RepliesBased on my experience playing Battlefield, NO K/D is respectable: If your K/D is -1.5, you're a "scrub" If your K/D is -2, you need to "git gud" If your K/D is 2+, you are accused of achieving it by technicality (using the same stuff all the time, camping, cheating, etc

Anything above one. I tell my team if you can stay positive k/d wise, we have a really good chance at winning

Just aim for a positive one. But it really depends on the match type. I play mostly Clash, so a negative KD (and I mean something like 0.25), is detrimental to the team. That's bad. I've gone 5.00+ KD at times and still lose the match because someone went 2-15, and we come short by about 1000 points. Whereas in Control it wouldn't be so bad if you captured zones and contributed (assists or just plain covering fire). Just play the match type. It works itself out.

3 RepliesAnything above one is certainly respectable. However, it's ok if you go lower. The destiny community can't do math (most of them), and there fire think that the only positive kd number is one and above. Positive kd is actually situational and depends in how you die and get kills.

1 ReplyMy two friends and I played against a guy last night in skirmish that single handedly won the game for the other team. Like consistently killed all three of us and probably died an average of 6-8 times a game and averaging 23-28 kills a game and every game he had a different armor and weapon load out. I looked him up on here and he has a 2.24 k/d with 25000 kills. I'm still amazed

A low KDR, but high assist total - I may think that you were just unlucky in timing. A low KDR but high capture total - I may think that you were pushing the control points and exposed yourself to a lot of deaths - but may have contributed to others being able to take out more of the others because they were concentrated around you.

It doesn't bother me if you are 1.0 as you are not negative and are not giving points to the other team. Objectively a respectable k/d would be anything over 1.0 but subjectively everyone has a range that they think is good enough. At the end of the game you might think 1.2 I played respectably but I would see 2.5 and think that I played poorly. TLDR anything above 1.0.
