I know I've posted this before, but a moderator accidentally moved it.
I want everybody to play Destiny, I really do. But it is a fact that children are immature and because of this, they often ruin the game for other players. It's not because they are bad people, I'm not saying that. It's because they are emotional, hot-headed, they think they know more than they do. This often causes a lot of conflict with other players who just want to have fun. The irrationality and immaturity of the children will clash with the seasoned gaming veteran.
Now, I'm not saying kids should be banned from Destiny, I want them to enjoy it too. What I'm saying is that bungie takes measures to encourage the parents of children to supervise them and to teach them proper manners in online gaming. How does bungie do this you may ask? The kinect and playstation 4 camera are more than capable of reading faces and matching them up with public databases if the proper software is written for both of them. The cameras scan the children and match them up with a public record. If the child is found to be under the age of 17, an additional monthly fee of $10 will be required to allow them to play. If the fee is not paid, then they cannot play. This requires that the parents invest in the child, so the parents will not want their kids to screw it up, or else they risk being banned. Which would be a waste of money.
Now why 17 you may ask? Well, 17 is the biological age of maturity. It is at this time that the process of puberty begins to end. Hormones are released into your body that allow for more rational thinking. Before this happens, it is literally impossible to be mature. Sure, some kids may act mature, but that's because they've been supervised by their parents. Some may even believe that they are mature, even going so far as to say
I'm 13/14/etc and I don't swear or do any of those things.
but that's because the way they view reality is skewed.
Sure, some adults may act immature, but this is because they have to deal with immature kids. Science has shown that high pitched noises activate certain instincts in adults. It has to do with protecting the young. When babies cry, adults automatically want to do something to get the baby to stop crying. This is the instinct high pitched noises appeal to. It makes adults irrational and emotional. This is not something that contributes to a friendly gaming environment. So if you encounter a grown person who appears to be acting immature, it's probably because they just encountered a kid.

1 Reply:) what up bro, stopped in to say hey... Hey

2 RepliesCurious to know how old you are exactly, because if you think 17 year olds are mature then I suspect you must be pretty young yourself ... I'm 36 and looking back on my life at 17 I thought I was mature, but I wasn't anything close to being mature - But no, I think that's utter nonsense charging a subscription for kids under 17 to play.. Console, game, season pass and live/ps plus subscription are enough of an outlay to play this game and there's not nearly enough content to justify a subscription of any amount. If you don't want to play with a certain age/gender/ethnicity then it's up to you to find a way to do that, because it is your problem at the end of the day, not the developers and not the kids.

Edited by Angel Caliel: 2/12/2015 10:24:40 AMDon't label all young people like that, a 13 year old is a regular in our raiding team and he's a great player.

Muted for being a longface fanboy.
-
Oh shhh I saw the satire
-
So you pay for a game to pay more to play it ?
-
There is it's called $79 to buy the game
-
Making them pay more isnt fair. Maybe make an 18+ option for strikes n crucible You can add adults only to your raid and nightfall recruiting
-
I do agree with them having to pay but my main concern is where does that 10.00 go? More content? Fixing bugs? Or another trip to Willywonkaunvierse(tm) for the Devs. While I do support the Development team, I am now growing concerned with the overall health and well being of it. They have been idle since launch. If this money would go to a fitness program or a proper diet, again I say yes. You're a visionary here. Keep it up. I look forward to more words. I am the word bearer.

Well since it is rated T, you should lower it to probably 14 and below. Maybe even 13 and below.

Edited by xXRaWxKILLAXx: 2/12/2015 9:18:32 AMYeah I'm sick of children coming on the forums saying crap like "get rid of blade dancer" cuz they got killed by it. Or reporting people for taking the sword in patrols when they didn't even kill the knight. Your post may be a joke, but in all honesty who wants to hear some kid scream in the mic constantly over little things?
-
This is stupid. Your not the one who controls who and who doesn't play. You shouldn't try to. It's up to the parents to decide if they need to have the game, not you. And there are quite a lot of kids younger than 17 who are very mature, not all of them, but some. Now don't believe I'm a little kid whining about this, I'm 17 myself, I've had my fair-share of little kids acting like they know everything, and I've put them in their place. You just have to confront them. Not put a disability on them.

1 ReplyThis is getting on my nerves, I think I've muted you 3 times now.

It's rated T for Teen. A lot of players seems to forget this.

4 RepliesI get what you're trying to say Wideballs. I really do and I agree that there should be some sort of control over access to the game. We have the technology to limit players genetically and I think we have enough of an understanding of the human genome at this point to implement a simple blood test that determines your value as person. You see Wideballs, age discrimination is morally and ethically identical to any other form of discrimination. Even though your broader point relates to psychological maturity, it's arguable that nurture factors and socialization variables nit related to biological age can seriously skew psychological maturity across a wide age range. I'd propose a better, safer, more scientific and frankly more responsible approach to player screening: 1) Player purchases home DNA test DLC pack complete with Sword of Crota single use finger lancet. 2) Player submits sealed and notarized sample for DNA profiling. 3) Should player be deemed genetically fit to play, player's DNA profile will be uploaded to game access database. 4) Player then purchases Destiny at-home blood verification access control device and multi-pack Sword of Crota single use finger lancets. 5) Should player wish to play, player connects access control device to the internet, pierces finger with lancet and inserts finger into device. 6) Once player's sample is determined to be a match to their database entry, access to the game is allowed. Obviously, those players found to be genetically inferior at any point will summarily rounded up and "invited" to work at Foxconn. Also, any person attempting to use the online access device who has not purchased the DLC required to add their DNA to the database will be terminated via a lethal dose of blowfish toxin and botox delivered by the online access device once unauthorized finger entry has been detected. Refills of deadly poison are available in the Xbox Live marketplace.
