Why is it that 32's wont help a 31?
I don't understand why " most " 32's wont help a 31 with CE raid on HM. If they have maxed out weapons, exp and such it shouldn't be that big of a deal. Yet every time a 31 sends a message to a 32 they get laughed at or called an idiot. I have tried for a week now and its soon to be re-set day and I still haven't completed it!
Ok, I get that if you don't have maxed out weapons its a lot harder ( especially a maxed out rocket launcher ) . AND not all 32's are @$$ holes, I never said that. Its basically just exp and gear, if you don't have that its almost impossible. But if you've completed the hard mode raid before and your looking to just do it for fun why not help a 31?
Well thanks everyone for your input! I was really just wandering why it was, and ive had a lot of really good answers. Some of it comes down to simply " not gonna help a 31" others " will help if ya got max weapons and exp " and some " Just get your gear maxed to 32 " but once again thanks for everyones input!!!!!
Well im beginning to see that there a lot more people willing to help 31's than I thought. It's not just because we absolutely have to run hard mode..... for some its maybe because you've ran crota on normal until your sick, or rngsus hates you, or maybe you actually are a not so hot games! but in the end we are all just playing for fun, having a good time and what not.... it shouldn't be ruined by getting kicked for dying one time in hm crota or not doing what someone says the first time, patience can make a difference.
( Out of my finally completed run in HM I got Oversoul edict, the abyss defiant again, the fang and a few shards and I only lack 6 from being 32 )

I help 31's who I know are good and have played with before on Crota HM. But I'll never help a random 31 just because they're more of a liability than a help. Plus if I'm searching for randoms, I want the best geared people possible that can finish the raid quickly as possible.

Why do you ned a 32? Just message other 31s if you can't find a 32 willing to run it. If you don't think you are capable of beating it without a 32, you are really just asking someone else to do the work so you can get the reward. I'm assuming that is not the case so just stop asking them. For the record, I have and will run it with clanmates that are 31s, but I understand why other people won't do it with randoms. Alternatively, run normal mode for an extra week and get level 32 yourself. The drop rate, while still not perfect for everyone, is vastly improved over VoG.

I'll help a 31, I think I've even done it on hard with half a team of 31s. I won't help an incompetent player, regarded of level. Last night I was with a group, 5 32s and a 31, I had nat issues with the 31, couldn't hear him. The first 4 runs, he dies before making it out of the starting room. Absolutely no help on the fight, and regardless we almost killed Crota some of those runs. 5th run, we're all in the middle and somehow he dies on the left, probably by boomers, and in the distraction of the over soul our sword bearer dies. Wipe. I lose count here, but some nunber of tries later we make it through the first 2 swords as a team, everyone is on point. We go to run to the ogres room, our 31 dies after we all run inside, I die shooting the oversoul, and that's a wipe. Amidst this incompetency, everytime we would've prevailed anyways we would have a sword dissapear, Crota would get up early (I don't view this as much of a mechanical glitch as much as a graphical glitch), and once a boomer stopped shooting at our titan to kill our sword guy. All in all, I view it that we could've done it with 5 people easier than trying to carry an incompetent player through.

Allways do it with 1-3 31's! Its not a big problem, aslong they knowthe mechanics!

There's a diff between helping a 31 and carrying a 31. Many people think running a normal raid a couple of times is good experience for hard. It's not. Also having fully maxed weapons like black hammer or ice breaker is needed cause those Knights are bullet sponges and there are A LOT of them.

My issue is half the 32s I play with can't even function through the raid let alone 31s so I only play with the highest LVL players and I know the best consistent players are 32s I can't be bothered with waisting my time with players who don't know what they are doing

Met a couple of guys yesterday that took myself and 3 31s into crota hard mode . I was a 32 mind you but they had never met me. We beat it on our second try . Awesome sword guy and a really nice guy coaching us. Made it look easy just had a great plan and stuck to it. There are some out here that will help and I thank them for it .

So if you don't have full raid gear, you should stick with doing normal mode. Hard mode is all level 33. At level 31, you're doing about 60% less damage to everything, not to mention the enhanced damage you take for being under level

If I don't know the person, then I don't owe them anything. Why would I spend an additional hour trying to get someone through it ,I didn't expect that kind of treatment when I was 31. There are a number of people who do have the time to help others just for the sake of helping and getting practice to be the best - that's credit to them, and they are out there. For me the exception is when the 31 clearly has plenty of experience and knows what he is doing, as has been said - it's a numbers game. Taking everything Into account - weapons , gear, skill, level - if the 31 is contributing positively to the group then no issue - but if they are having a negative effect then they got to go. You see it's not just about level, that's a little misleading - it's everything as a package, the level just makes quite a big difference to that package.

I run with the same group weekly. Everyone has 2 or 3 32s. My final character I made last week and is still a 30. With 3-4 hard clears on each of my 32s my group has no problem letting my 30 come into hard mode.

Bad RNG on those messages. I help 27s through normal and 30s through hard for fun. I've only had one pickup ever drop out cause of it.

It's supposed to be a progression. Too often the 31s looking for help in HM have 1-2 raid pieces and vendor legendary guns that are partially leveled. Maybe they have a VoG gun or two. If there's one of those and a bunch of geared 32s I'll give it a try, but the more you compromise on gear quality the harder it will be. They can raid a few more times on normal to get that Hunger of Crota or Black Hammer...then if they can follow an established strategy, sure I'll run with them. Not a fan of carrying someone just so they can skip the components of the normal raid that other players spend a month nailing down. That just breeds frustration

I didn't attempt the hard raid until I hit 32. If you die in the hard raid, not only is the team down 1 person, but also they have to shift fire from Crota to the oversoul and this can really mess up the timing. If you have a good 31 who can DPS Crota and avoid being killed by the boomers, that's great. The problem is these people don't know you and have no idea if you know what you're doing. Just run normal until you can get 31. It shouldn't take that long, and you'll have a much better time since you'll be playing and not looking at a screen of your dead ghost.

It's not that you are 31, it's the way people ask. Random invites, spamming me with invites, spamming me with messages begging me to help...will not get me to help you. If fact, it's these people that ruin it for decent people because it happens so often, I just ignore people most of the time....
