The mythoclast will be useless
Let's all be honest here. Now that the vex isn't getting a PVE upgrade, it's pretty much worthless. After the HoW drops, a legendary will be more useful. It's a trophy gun and a PVP gun. Even then other guns will do better. I have a Monte Carlo and can outshoot vex users.
It has a lower attack than any other gun. It has no use in PVE. In solar burn people run icebreaker or Gjallarhorn. In void burn people run anything that suits the strike (never solar guns) and in arc you're gonna run an arc gun. Raids are too high level now. This issue will only get worse as dlc goes on.

1 ReplyTroll right? I used it last week when it had all burns. Every precision shot was hitting 1600 dmg while my newly upgraded scout rifle with no special dmg was hitting around 850. Now that's a scout rifle vs an auto rifle.... if I'm hitting twice as much then you know it's good

there is nothing wrong with guns retiring to PvP. my shadowprice has done so, I love that thing too this day, and for me.... I am kind of glad it ha been retired. It is a testement to any player who has been here from early on. Its rarity rows with time. a part of me hopes the shadowprice will not be returned. even if it is now onl a PvP gun. it is my baby, and i will always love it. (p.s. who cares about the vex, its a scrub gun anyway)

2 RepliesNot completely sure about that. I was saying the same thing a few weeks back. If you think about it even after all the talk about 300 weapons being useless, right now the only thing they are useless in is crota. I'm betting the only thing the vex will be useless in is the new raid. I haven't looked it up but I'm assuming the new dlc nightfall and weekly and all that will crap at level 32, which the vex is.

1 ReplyThis is how a progression based game should work. Old content items should not compete with new. Doesn't actually happen in destiny tho. The dmg difference is sometimes not high enough to crush some perks. Fatebringer seems to come to mind (q tears of those who don't have it/trolls). But the game is catered to casuals so you can't expect a lot. Those who think it's not because of grinding or rng or whatever. The fact that you aren't completely irrelevant at 30 (level cap pre dlc) proves the point.

10 RepliesGrimoire check confirmed: no Vex. Someone is SALTY :) You're also uninformed. Vex will still do max damage to any enemy 32 or lower. If you didn't know, thats what the first two numbers mean in weapon attack ratings. Nightfalls and heroics will likely only change to level 32. Granted it won't be useful forever but it will be for a fair while longer. Good luck in your hunt for it guardian. Everyone should get to try the gun. It is a lot of fun :)

The best pvp guns "should be" from pvp marks. No raid gear/guns should be even close to tops in pvp. They are though so game design is very poor. Sad though.

8 RepliesEdited by thKingntheNorth: 2/2/2015 10:32:21 PMMy theory on all of the stuff that won't be buffed is this: (1) There are and will continue to be tons of PVE and PVP instances that don't require max level gear/weapons. (2) As more DLC is released and newer players join the fold, weapons like the Vex and armor from VOG will become rarer. Personally, I'm looking forward to the day I'm the only person running patrols on Venus with a Vex and full VOG armor. And all the other noob guardians who bought their vendor gear like everyone else just stare in awe and ask "Where did you get that stuff?" And I'll reply, "From a long forgotten age of the original badass guardians." That's why I'll continue to raid VOG until I've got full raid sets for all 3 of my guardians. I'm almost there.
