Let's all be honest here. Now that the vex isn't getting a PVE upgrade, it's pretty much worthless. After the HoW drops, a legendary will be more useful. It's a trophy gun and a PVP gun. Even then other guns will do better. I have a Monte Carlo and can outshoot vex users.
It has a lower attack than any other gun. It has no use in PVE. In solar burn people run icebreaker or Gjallarhorn. In void burn people run anything that suits the strike (never solar guns) and in arc you're gonna run an arc gun. Raids are too high level now. This issue will only get worse as dlc goes on.

Edit: for everyone saying I've never used it I have, but at a friend's house.

1 ReplyLol you've only used it at a friends house? That really isn't enough to judge it. Honestly if they upgraded it it would need to be needed. Still one of the best primary weapons in the game. Only down fall is the range.
-
I run vex in nightfall is epic
-
It's been useless for a long time
-
If it's solar burn it will still be better than any kinetic primary you can bring. There are reasonable substitutes for Icebreaker/Gjallarhorn for solar burn strikes if you don't have a VoC instead. For me Y-09 does about the same damage and I only really need the Icebreaker for regen. I don't even have a Gjallarhorn but usually on burn strikes I like to use an lmg anyway so I don't have a rocket blow up in my face. Bottom line, don't count the Vex out yet. It'll still be beastmode at least through the next expansion.

Not in Pvp that thing is a monster mash
-
3 RepliesI'll be the one laughing when you're struggling with the overcharge bounty :)
-
Vex is still a great pvp weapon and raid
-
I have a vex best pvp gun on the market
-
Nope, it's actually pretty good, and will be for awhile.
-
2 RepliesSeems like all VoG gear will be buffed so I assume the weapons as well.
-
2 RepliesNah, you can still use the old VOG weapons doing patrol missions.

4 RepliesYou guys....I have a girlfriend. She goes to another school, ok?!?

5 RepliesEdited by ubn: 2/6/2015 3:27:06 PMAnother newlywed destinyplayer trashing a weapon because ha hasn't got it. This got old with fatebringer..
-
I use it in solar nightfalls with my hunger of crota. Easier to get primary ammo than heavy. Got burned out on VoC.
-
I'm sure I'll still use it. It's a great gun and I still use my VoC and fatebringer. If not then it's a great looking gun to keep and will still be great for crucible.
-
its use can be helpful in nightfall
-
Pfft, please.

16 RepliesSo why is it then people still use fatebringer even though it's 10% less damage than current weapons? All guns are situational, in a solar burn strike with hoards of smaller enemies (say for example first and second part of omnigal) why would I even consider using IB or Gally? There's so much hate for vex because in PvP it takes no skill to be at top of leaderboard. If you don't have experience with the gun (a couple of hours at your friends house is no way near enough) don't make a thread about it as you have limited knowledge. I think they will keep the vex current with upping the damage, even if they didn't people will still use it even in HOW, it will be usable up to this point no problem at all. I see it highly unlikely bungie would not keep an exotic current in any case.

2 RepliesAm I the only one who hasn't touched my vex in over a month? It's ok but never the best choice for PvE and I prefer thorn for PvP
-
1 ReplyThe vex has always been useless
-
The vex melts enemies and it wrecks in pvp due to crowd control.
-
The Mythoclast will definitely be a myth once HoW is released
-
Have you never used the vex lol, obviously not. It's -blam!-ing beast in pve and pvp, that shit will never be irrelevant. Btw "at a friends house" does not count at all ahaha.
-
Where does not say they won't buff it? Its attack was increased once, why not again?
-
Go up against one in pvp and tell me it's useless :-)
