to all you buying the icebreaker today....
It's such a good sniper. I would say that it's one of the most crucial guns in the game. Buy 3
The word "earned" is a joke on this forum and it does not pertain to this game. A more appropriate word would be "acquired"

This gun has been my baby since it dropped off Atheon normal mode. I upgraded it after the DLC and it was the first weapon i got maxed to 331 and it was the best decision EVARRRRR! and oh yeah OBSIDIAN MIND BITCHES!!!

I've wanted Icebreaker since I first saw it being used in a stream 2 months before I got the game. I didn't even know the name of it. I just knew that it was the coolest sniper rifle I've seen and that I must have it. Now I can get it and I'm overjoyed.

To all those "you didn't earn it if you buy it from xur" people So random drop is the only legit way for you guys? Then go deal with my friend, who got 3 hawkmoon a, 2 Ghorns, 3 vex mythoclasts, all by random drops, in or before November 2014. Now you feel bit of unfair by your only legit way? (Oh and, I can't remember how many ice breakers he dismantled, the guy is just so lucky on exotic drops that he lost interest of the game at November cause there's nothing worth him to grind any more before DLC…)

Edited by cusman: 1/16/2015 4:41:31 PMI had bought 3 the first time Xur sold it. I eventually did get one as a drop (from Atheon I think), which I scrapped since I already had 3. That first week Xur had 331 damage upgrade, I reset two of them. They are already back to maxed at 331 just because of how much they get used (and easy Eris bounties and Sniper telemetries). Today with Xur, I bought a new 331, and scrapped the old 300 max. So now I have all three characters sporting 331 Ice Breakers. They are also each sporting a 331 Hawkmoon. All is well. Some day, one day, I will get Gjallahorn, Thunderlord, Monte Carlo, and Four Horseman as well.

I'm glad people are able to experience the joy that I've had since early October. The icebreaker might be the best gun in the game and I got lucky one day in the crucible. If you're worried about other people having a great PvE weapon, then you might want to see a therapist. It can have nothing but a positive impact. You're fighting the same enemies. However, I will admit that I suffer from some jealousy as well. The black hammer is the only weapon I have that my friend doesn't (he got an exotic drop from each crota raid this week). Would only make the tanks and walkers go down faster though.

The price range for one is enough to buy a car. Then when you wake up in the morning you find out that the company the produces them gives out a million metallic variety. Similar if not the same situation of the ice breaker.

1 ReplyYou need to do Weekly Heroic Strikes to get enough coins to buy a exotic. But people think that's not earning an exotic. So based on their logic that would mean we shouldn't get an exotic from one nightfall versus the 2 Heroic strikes needed to acquire enough coins. So anyone who "Earned" their exotic through nightfall, you didn't. How about that.

2 RepliesI got a 2.0 version from a Cryptarch level up (I may be one of few who don't hate Rahool), and I'm still thinking about buying another so I can keep it permanently on my main. The gun utterly changed my ability to play this game solo, it's beautiful.

Finally now you noobs can help on strikes for once lol but in all seriousness I'm happy he sold it, I've been fortunate enough to have it (4) and its a great weapon that everyone deserves to use it. I also don't see it breaking the game.... now the Gally on the other hand... anyway have fun guardians!!!
