It's such a good sniper. I would say that it's one of the most crucial guns in the game. Buy 3
The word "earned" is a joke on this forum and it does not pertain to this game. A more appropriate word would be "acquired"

1 Reply"One of the most crucial guns in the game" I don't think so. It's easily one of the better snipers(in my experience). The infinite ammo is a great thing, it helps so much. Now, if you have a few other exotic weapons, the IB shouldn't take your exotic slot. IMHO I would use -P&T -Thorn -Bad Juju Over the IB if I'm just playing to play. Now different situations easily call for that infinite ammo perk, like sniping the devil walker.

Buy 1 for each character if your strange coins permit. It's a decision you will not regret and worth having such an excellent sniper for any occasion you come across.

Right after Xur arrived, I bought two Ice Breakers to bring my total to 3. I bought my 1st back in Week 5 and upgraded it. Last night, after running through the VOG on normal, RNG decided I was worthy enough to be awarded with my 4th Ice Breaker. So I guess I "earned" one of them along the way. Personally I think it's just another sign of the game trolling me.

You make sense. There was this one guy on the forums who practically said " I did absolute jack when others depended on me and I was given the 2nd best gun in the game with a PVE KD of 0:3,721 deaths. I totally earned it. And screw you to who farmed for days to get it. You farmers didn't earn it" (the face palm is real)

I've played this game pretty much from the start. I didn't have the coins for it the first time xur sold it and it has never dropped for me at all. I've put in as much time as anybody doing weeklies, raids, nightfalls and all manner of destiny grind stuffs. Yeah I bought it from Xur and yes I've earned it. Don't care what anybody has said otherwise.

Enough so that even though I have a nightfall dropped Ice Breaker, I will never level it up or use it. I have broken down over 5 of them already. Worthless gun for MY GAMEPLAY as its not needed. Most folks don't know that a good Scout Rifle with maxed range and a almost maxed impact fusion rifle with Gjallarhorn will trump any Ice Breaker any day of the week. I don't give a shit what anyone thinks because I was there using a sniper rifle all day long and it gets easier and smoother with better load outs of weapons. Plus I have a maxed Black Hammer if I ever need to use a sniper rifle which is maybe a few times a month.. Ohh and 500 heavy ammo synthesis also helps. LMFAO...

Edited by Xenocard: 1/17/2015 12:41:58 PMtoday the forum is filled with scrubs who are jealous of people buying an ice breaker from xur..... it is pathetic to see someone who obtained an ice breaker by opening a chest in a raid or seeing it dropped from a boss, it was just randomly dropped, it was not earned from hard work or by collecting strange coins. yet they think they are self entitled to be the only ones who must have it. id love to see a full fire-team who has a Gjallahorn and icebreaker to blaze through everything, now nobody has an excuse to say he cant snipe oracles or boomers! pathetic scrubs
