I think I'm done with the weekly nightfall
For little more than over a month now, every time I have completed the nightfall strikes across three characters, I literally have been looting nothing but ascendant materials, and mean while my friends loot some of the best stuff in the game. Just a moment ago i completed it and got a legendary primary weapon engram that turned into two ascendant energy and both of my friends got the radiant dance machines. This is so frustrating. Is anybody else experiencing what I'm going through? #rantover
[b]edit:[/b] for those of you saying I'm crying and complaining? I'm not crying at all I'm just simply saying across three characters for a month and a half I haven't looted anything but ascendant materials. I'm just fine with not looting anything but when I run it with friends? They always loot the best weapons and gear in the game. So I'm sorry but that rubs me the wrong way. I'm gonna continue to play the game I was just wondering if anybody had the bad luck I'm experiencing. Honestly if bungie were to change the reward drop to radiant materials instead of ascendant? I wouldn't have a problem with the night fall. And you wouldn't see me posting to the forums.
[b]edit2[/b] a lot of you are saying the nightfalls are for the Exp bonus. I know and understand that. That's why I do it. But the nightfall is also a chance of getting really good exotic weapons and gear as well.
[b]edit3[/b] being since people are still telling me to stop crying and complaining. I'm gonna turn my topic into a question. Do you think bungie should add radiant materials to the reward drops? And do you think ascendant materials should be kept in? Tell me your thoughts.
[b]edit4[/b] for those of you who are still telling me to stop crying and complaining. When I initially wrote this topic I was angry. Thus my judgement and thought process was clouded. I have a whole new outlook on the manner now, I start up the nightfall with the mindset to get the bonus exp and rep. Anything else I loot is just a Cherry on top. When the nightfall ends and the reward screen pops up, I then expect nothing. End of story. On a positive note, 1000 replies and counting! Thanks for the support guys! Really appreciate it! Cheers!!!

1 ReplyI was in the same boat as you 1 month ago man. Now I have every Exotic except Thunderlord.... How about to keep up doing them because it's fun and it's a little bit more of a challenge to do?

1 ReplyLook at this way (I'm far too lazy to read all the comments of its already been said), exp boost yada yada yada, you at least got way more energy/shards than you would from breaking down some legendary crap you'll never use. Yes, radiant material should define added to the loot table.

1 ReplyI am, but I still do it. I have only got one exotic drop ever from nightfall and it was last week. I got those retarded Don't Touch Me gauntlets and they are trash, but at least I got an exotic shard from them. Just keep grinding man and it will happen.

2 RepliesDelete one and do it again last time I did that I got truth from vog, black hammer from crota, an exotic helm from night fall and another 9 coins seems more productive Than doing bounties or whatever haha Plus if you find a couple more on the forums or freinds you can put the level up and level much faster and if you have a strangers rifle and husk of the pit you have better guns than you receive in game

I now have 619, yes you read that right 619.) Second character an arc rocket launcher something triple 0 had shit perks turned into two ascendant energy, (I also don't need anymore of those, I have 567, yes again reading that correctly FIVE HUNDRED AND SIXTY-SEVEN). I already fear what I'll get on my Warlock.

The amount of shit that you have on your character that has so far been RNG drop only is insane. I have done the raid every week on every character, for the exception of once on my Titan, and you have managed to procure two raid helmets, and multiple weapons and armor pieces only obtainable by RNG. My only saving grace in this game of getting exotics has been Xur, and I have yet to get any of the good weapons that have yet to be sold by Xur.

2 Repliesif you really do your edit 4, you will see some good drops! The trick to rng is to trick that bitch and make it think you dont give a shit... Then it drops its guard and accidentally lets the good loot slip...

6 RepliesFirstly the drop system is bullshit. SO you have every right to complain. However, theres a theory of playing well increases your chances of getting the goods. 1) Dont die or least dont die as much as your team mates. 2) Go for precision kills 3) Do as much damage as possible on the mini-bosses and final boss. 4) Finish boss of with a super. OF course all of this is all speculation:)

1 ReplyHaving played Destiny long enough to accept the BS RNG mechanics, I only do Nightfall for the EXP boost for leveling up gear. If I get LUCKY and get a drop of value I, well, I'm not sure what I would do, as I never get good drops from Nightfall. Even the exotics I have gotten are redundant and turn into shards. Kinda sad for players to have to adopt a "whatever" attitude because the loot mechanics are so lame.

1 ReplyRadiant materials aren't really hard to collect , I have done the Crota raid all the weeks since dlc except one time, I only have one character , and I still only need 12 more which I should be able to get the the next raid I do. If you're rank 4 in Eris you can switch energies for shards. Don't think it's needed for nightfalls to give radiant shards but it would be useful to people that are behind on shards.

Sure the experience bonus is nice, but that alone doesn't make me want to dedicate any significant portion of time to the game after all raids are done for the week. Getting an occasional bone from nightfall would make me want to come on every day and level it up.

1 Replydid bungie ever said nightfall will always drop an exotic weapon or armor? or it has a chance to drop an exotic just like the exotic chest on VOG and CE. the only place to get a guaranteed exotic is XUR and people still get disappointed lol.

1 ReplyI know exactly what you are going through. Shards, energy, strange coins. But finally although it wasn't the jelly horn I got the dragons breathe. I don't mind energy or strange coins but shards really are useless unless there is something coming in a dlc that will require them.
